About Click Box Healer
IMPORTANT: I will be removing the custom macro options in the near future.
I may come to regret this. I am going to provide my character name so I can be contacted in-game. I enjoy speaking with people about my addon. But first a couple of notes. I can't acknowledge everyone if I am getting a lot of tells. If you want to chat, makes suggestions, etc, that's awesome and I'd love it. If you are having issues or errors, I don't mind talking about it. But I will ask you to post it with details in a comment on RiftUI or Curse so I can look into it. Just something to keep in mind. With that.. Ayhri@Deepwood is my name. See you in-game.
#############
OVERVIEW:
Click Box Healer is primarily viewed as a healing addon, but can be useful to all roles. CBH is used to quicken healing and more efficiently identify the current status of your party by displaying everything from health and aggro status to buffs and debuffs on each member. This addon allows macros to be bound to click actions that are performed on a set of raid frames that will cast the selected abilities/macro. These frames are usable when solo, in a party, with pets (groups 5 or less), or in a raid. It accepts up to the basic 5 mouse buttons as input, as limited by the RiftAPI, and can be bound in conjunction with keyboard buttons (shift, ctrl, alt) for even more possibilities.
The addon can be moved and resized to fit any screen comfortably. This addon has the ability to track up to 3 customizable buffs (one for each available corner), as well as debuffs on each frame for poisons (green), diseases (orange), curses (purple), and whitelisted debuffs (red). Debuffs are displayed as a colored box around the health percentage accordingly colored to the debuff.
#############
CONFIGURATION:
- There is a minimap button included that will do the following: LeftClick - Opens options window and unlocks raid frame, MiddleClick to toggle hiding/showing the raid frames, RightClick and drag to move minimap icon
The configuration of the addon is fairly simple. It has an in-game option menu that allows you to set the macro binds to each mouse button with an optional keyboard key for more combination possibilities. In these fields you can pretty well write anything that you can put in a macro. The bindings are saved by the current spec/role you are in. ie. 1-6 and will change automatically if/when you change roles.
In the 2nd options tab you will find the ability to change the health bar settings. Multiple pre-defined textures as well as many color options settings for various pieces of the unit frames including the backdrop, healthframe, text colors, etc.
The last tab is where you can setup all your buff and debuff options. You can setup de/buffs to track. Tracking a buff will cause it to show up in a resizeable square on the affected raid frame. You can whitelist debuffs that don’t normally show up for added flexibility as well as blacklist ones you would like to hide.
Command line options available: (type /cbh in game to see list)
/cbh show - Show window
/cbh hide - Hide window
/cbh reset - Reset default addon settings
/cbh config - Display config window
/cbh toggle - Toggles displaying main window
/cbh lock - Allows you to move the frame. Type again to lock.
/cbh tt - Toggles tooltips on frame mouseover
#############
#############
KNOWN ISSUES:
- No major issues are outstanding they we are aware of this time.
Due to limitation of the API in RIFT at this time, while you are in combat, no changes can be made to the addon. You cannot get in the options window, unlock the frame, toggle the tooltips, or close the frame.
#############
THANKS AND APPRECIATIONS:
An extra thanks to the recent addition of Niemassacre to the dev team.
A huge thanks to dOxxx's LibSimpleWidgets library. Made several pieces of this addon much more functional and usable.
Thanks also go to ZorbaTHut for LibUnitChange.
And a big thanks to Protonova for the tips they provided that helped initially fix the performance bugs.
Nice work to the original authors on WoWAce for some of the health frame artwork used in this addon.
All feedback and ideas are welcome. Please let me know if you have any feedback at all. It is appreciated and contributes to the continuation this project.

Comments
Will start off again with thank you. Appreciate all the people using my addon. I will have to look into the profile issue. I had it working but with all the code being re-written right now and/or migrated I may have broken it. I will check it out.
As for the custom macros. I really don't know what to say at this point. People have so many issues with it and when using it, it causes issues with some other functions of the addon. It was just a convenience added during early development. So honestly, as a heads up, since the addon is getting to be a little more developed now that I'm back to stay, I will actually probably just flat out remove this feature. The purpose at the time for the custom macro was to allow me to focus on get the addon more built/developed while still allowing users to have the customizability to make the addon useful to them. If there is something you need in the custom macro that isn't available, let me know, I will add features for it. Cause the way I see it, you should haven't to make stuff yourself. My job as the developer is to provide you with the options you desire to have/see. I can't promise them right away.. but I will try to get to them as soon as I can.
Thanks,
~Solsis00
Did my PTS testing last night and we are good to go for 2.3. No errors. Everything on the surface seems to work as it should be. :D Now back to wrapping up these changes for you guys and I'll launch this update.
~Solsis00
Awesome!!! Just wanted to give you a huge Thank you for helping to keep this mod updated, i still use it religiously .. love it and will keep referring it as the best raid frames ever!!...
UPDATE on my next patch:
Todos remaining:
Fix positioning/show/hide issues with ABS bar
Update remaining events to the new api updates soon coming.
Once these are complete I will roll the next update out.
Some things coming with this will include...
6/8 - v1.5.8r

Fixed some buff/debuff "sticking" issues that caused debuffs to not disappear when no longer present.
**** A BIG THANKS TO SOLF for this and some other little fixes.

Fixed an issue that cause frames to show incorrect status text, calling colors, etc when "re-used"

Migrated all frame events into new format for upcoming API changes

30% migration of checks/functions that were be executed more than needed into a less intensive more reliable format. This is taking some time and will eventually lead to CBH 2.0 which will hopefully have a greatly reduced overhead.
I know it doesn't sound like much, but the recoding going into this is taking some time. But in the end will be greatly beneficial, to both you, and me. Thanks again to everyone for their contributions and patience. It is much appreciated.
Just an update. Doing a little more testing and the next patch should be out shortly.
Thanks for your patience as always.
~Solsis
Just reposting problem because its still an issue :) Thanks for picking up addon again, So happy!
Everytime I do the last boss of Stormbreaker protocal (plus a few other Bosses) and after the group gets Dots that I have removed it turns the name a blueish/green color (thats how I have my debufs showing on bars) and if they get the purplish Dot again it keeps their bar that color until I get out of combat AND reset it, this makes curing them very hard and I have to keep looking over at "rifts" bars to see if they really have a dot or not. Sometimes even burning my group cure before realizing the dots are not really there. I know others that have been having this same problem.
So your issue, I partially was able to recreate. There isn't anything or any combination of setting that I know of that should change the name colors during gameplay. So I'm not sure what is happening there. I was however able to cause the debuffs not going away in certain curcumstances. I will take a look at this and see if I can figure out what/where it is being caused.
I will take a look at this as soon as I can. Will take a bit of troubleshooting and digging on this one I think to discover what the issue might be. Luckily I do have a 50 cleric and a 50 mage so I will play around with this.
This seems to be crashing more often for me after the last update.
If you can give me more details as to what error you are getting and what you were doing when it "crashed" I will be able to look into/fix the problems you are having.
Thanks
Lol... well.. I suppose that is good then. :)
Yeah, I meant to update with what it was, but I haven't ran into the problem since I made the post : |
Hiya; I'm posting to say that I'm having a lot of trouble with this addon. Hopefully you can help me. :>
Basically, I just started healing on my lowbie cleric. I did a dungeon last night and would try to put an absorb onto the tank, but CBH was showing that it was going onto the party member listed above the tank. I wasn't sure why it wasn't casting on the right person, until I targetted the tank and saw that every time CBH showed it going onto another party member, the tank would receive the Burnout debuff and he was in fact getting the absorb. There were other times where the absorb display on the raid frame would disappear completely and reappear a secound later.
There was also a situation where the frames stopped working completely. There was a lot of damage going out, and I was trying to heal everyone, when suddenly I couldn't interact with the CBH frames at all. No one was out of range or anything, the frames just wouldn't work.
Both of these problems seemed to be fixed by reloading my UI, but I'm hoping I don't have to reload my UI every other pull because it really slows a group down. :<
Lastly, I understand that CBH essentially creates macros and just allows you to bind them to different mouse buttons, so this may be a problem with the macro system itself. For example, I have Subtle Invocation bound to left click, and Symbol of the Torch bound to shit left click. I would put Symbol of the Torch on one party member and when I tried to put it on another party member (who did NOT have the Burnout debuff), it would start casting Suble Invocation as if Symbol of the Torch was on CD or something. This happened constantly and I kept having to move around to stop casting and try putting Symbol of the Torch up again and it got kind of irritating.
I apologize for the wall of text but hopefully you can help me. Thanks for your time. :>
So I will address your post in a 1,2,3,4 paragraph format. Firstly, thanks. For not only the feedback, but the details provided with it. Will do the best I can with them to help find the issue. And some of your issues might be directly similar to Eleena's issues posted above as well. Onto business.
1. This is probably a miscalculation issue or the tables not being properly cleared.
2. The frames not working completely? Did you have new people join the group/raid while combat was going?
3. For the macro issue. Yes, this is due to the way macros work and there really isn't much I can do about this until the devs give us a little more flexibility with the cast options. Like modifiers or conditions.
I will look into these and do what I can. Some of it may get fixed with the changes in coding that I am working on but that is further down the road, like CBH 2.0 down the road. A little ways away. I'll do what I can to "patch" it before then.
