About Gadgets: Outfitter

A Special thanks for the original author Wykkyd for making this incredible addon!

Outfitter is an Equipment Set management addon that can treat your Wardrobe slots as secondary storage. The 'Button Bars' that you create are extremely configurable and will expand and collapse, or open the configuration window, with a simple click of the mouse. Once expanded each button bar will display the buttons for the sets you have created, allowing you to change gear, role, wardrobe & Karuul Alert settings with a click.

Here is a tutorial made by the original author: Video Tutorial available now in HD

Features:

  • Place 1 or more button bars on screen using Gadgets interface to easily move & configure each
  • Configure Equipment Sets that are exclusive to each button bar, allowing quick changes between specs, gear & Karuul Alerts.
  • Equipment can be stored and retrieved from Wardrobe or Bags
  • Equipment found in Wardrobe will be traded out when called for, resulting in your Wardrobe slots acting like enhanced storage
  • Wardrobe switching per equipment set

NEW WITH 2.4

  • A new outfitter tooltip has been added to the native tooltip showing you if an item is saved in an equipmentset! You can turn this off per Gadget Button in the settings(uncheck "Enable tooltip hook") if you don't want this feature
  • The new soul icons have been added
  • Minor bug fixes

Notes / Disclaimers:

  • This addon requires Gadgets to be installed & the core Gadgets addon to be enabled. You do not need to use the rest of Gadgets.
  • Switching gear between wardrobe slots & worn requires up to 8 empty bag slots. You've been warned.
  • Movement of gear outside of this addon while it is changing sets can cause it to stall / stop / fail to equip completely.

If you're having any issues with outfitter do not hesitate to post a comment with your issue or if you would like it to be a bit more personal you can e-mail me at [email protected]

Button Bar Instructions:

  • Use the Gadgets interface to Add Gadget to your screen.
  • Add an Outfitter: Set Button to your screen and place it anywhere you like.
  • Right click that button to bring up the Equipment Manager window.
  • Left click the button to expand the button bar, exposing any created buttons.
  • Middle click the button to open up the mass replacement tool.
  • Click on any exposed button to change spec, Karuul Alerts and gear.

Equipment Manager Instructions:

  • The X at the top right of the window does actually close the window ;)
  • The X touching each inventory slot will set that slot as ignored by the set (when equipping that set). Click again to un-ignore.
  • Use the drop down list to select a set, or simply start configuring to add a new one.
  • Drag & drop any gear you want for the set into the window (2nd ring & offhand weapon should probably be dragged onto that specific slot)
  • Specify whether or not to change roles, and whether or not to switch Karuul sets
  • YOU NO LONGER HAVE TO RELOADUI to see changes in your button bar

TIP!!! You can scroll your mouse wheel on top of image selectors and all sliders to smooth the icon/button selection process.

Known Issues:

  • The new outfitter tooltip might not always render where you would think it should be(especially with comparative tooltips). I've tried to compensate most of the bugginess that the native tooltip has but sadly there are limits, only the devs can fix that part. If you think you might have a fix or a better work-a-round, don't hesitate to contact me though!

Any chance to update for new gadgets framework?

  • #11

No update was required when Gadgets updated. He didn't change anything under the hood that I was using.

  • #7

Is there any way to get a mouseover for the icons?  I just swapped over from nkrebuff and this is the only thing I really miss.  Awesome addon though!

  • #5

I've actually gone and replaced this with NK Wardrobe, much as i appreciate nk and his addons, I do thing people make better alternatives.

One gripe i do have with this addon at the moment from face value, is when you select your gear set etc etc, there is an orange square overlay on the addon icon, what gives... can you display this? I'd also like to see the orginal addon icon stay after ive selected my equip, Atm the moment i have the addon default to the "bag" icon, e.g. gear bag, so when i click on it it drops down all my soul icons for the spec i need, but once i click on one it then shows the soul icon instead of the orginal one once the drop out menu has been deselected, do you get what i mean? hard to explain.

  • #6

Actually I understand exactly what you mean. What you're experiencing with the icons was added as a feature request by users who messaged me. I think it would be very wise to go back and add the ability to enable/disable this feature, so that you could get the effect you desire. I will make not of this and be sure to add it with my next major update.

  • #3

Could you add a text field which can optionally alert the player or announce it in chat (emote/say/yell/guild/party/raid) depending on users choice, maybe multiple choice, and maybe a notification message (the one appearing middle of screen) stating it aswell.

Also want to report that when saving a set, having disabled the items I don't want changed, the helmet always changes to "change" for each new set, so I have to block it again so that it don't revert back, if you get what I mean.

Finally I experience that it is hard to add new sets to existing buttons, sometimes I have to force a reload of UI, even if no new button is to appear, just to be able to ADD a new button (nothing new to show yet).

  • #4

I will probably add new features at the same time that I adjust for 1.11 and 2.0 patches on PTS. I'll toss the "chat alert" feature onto the stack. The ignored slot thing is likely a simple, yet elusive, bug. I can't recreate it on my end but I'll try to get that ironed out in a future update. The reloadui thing is a bit touchy. Some of that is out of my control, but I'm working to smooth adding/removing buttons so that force reloading the UI is less needed.. For now, though, you could do what I do. I force reload every time I modify a button, just to be sure. Editing sets isn't something I do often, though, so I suppose it doesn't bother me as much.

Just need a Tooltip when hovering over the Icon to help with remembering what set it is ... Other wise this Rocks .... Love it keep up the Great work ...

Tip: You can scroll your mouse wheel over the image selector to ease icon selection.
