Buff Bars and Icons

Please check out the Gadgets:Buffs addon, if you want more advanced buff/debuff tracking.

Quick Start

You will see a round button with a Gear icon in the middle of your screen. Drag this button to where you want it by left clicking and dragging.

Right click on the button and choose 'Add Gadget' to add a gadget to your screen.

Left clicking on the button will unlock (and re-lock) all of your gadgets. When unlocked, Gadgets can be moved by dragging their movement handles (the white gear icon at the top corner of each gadget).

To alter an existing gadget, right click on it's movement handle while gadgets are unlocked, and choose 'Modify Gadget'.

When moving gadgets around on the screen, you can align them to another gadget by dragging the move handle over the top of another move handle. The gadget you are dragging will align itself either horizontally or vertically with it. If you move the gadget too far from the horizontal or vertical axes, alignment mode will turn off (it should hopefully become clear when you try it!).

Grid Snapping

Typing "/gadgets grid 8" for example, will snap all movement and resizes to an 8 pixel grid. Type "/gadgets grid" with no number to reset snapping.

Macros

The raid and group frames allow you to specify macros for various mouse buttons and the mouse wheel. These are standard RIFT macros, with a couple of extra Gadgets features:

Use @unit to refer to the unit the frame is showing. For example "cast @unit Healing Breath".

Use modifer it you want:

cast [shift] @unit Symbol of the Torch
cast Symbol of the Sun

Use the following syntax to have a macro carry out different actions depending on your current role:

:if role == 1 or role == 6 then
target @unit
:end
:if role == 2  then
target @unit
cast Healing Spray
:end
:if role == 3 or role == 4 or role == 5 then
target @unit
cast [shift] @unit Symbol of the Torch
cast Symbol of the Sun
:end

Profiles

Save, load and delete your profiles. How to save, load and delete your profiles you can see on my video guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tr7bcidyFv8&;

Notes

I have borrowed some images from other people. I believe the licenses on these sources allow this, but if not, I will replace them.

  • Various bar textures from LibSharedMedia (WoW addon)
  • Orb images from Roth UI (WoW addon)
  • A few images from the Rift Fansite Kit

If you store your addons not in the my documents folder. This case you need to manualy download Gadgets but not with Curse Client.

    Technically, that should be impossible. We can't actually change any settings in the client from an addon, and there is no nameplate functionality available to us at all.

    I'll mention this to Zorba, as there may be a bug in RIFT that's causing this.

  • #186

    Recent patch (3 101) introduced a scaling issue for uniframes (standard frame template). Target name and class seems to be messed up with name being higher than intended and class icon being stretched vertically

  • #188

    That's odd, I haven't touched those frames at all. There was some scaling code added, but it only applies to the Realm Guardian frames.

    Oh... unless... I supposedly enhanced some functionality around how images are handled, as they could't be resized previously. It shouldn't have affected these frames, but it looks like it has. I'll get it sorted.

  • #185

    Any ETA on HoT tracking for raid/group frames? These frames are absolutely stunning. Keep on the great work.

    I can't really give an ETA, but I am working on them at the moment. Should be in one of the next releases.

  • #178

    I really like Raid frames but it shows them in range but when i go to heal them they arn't in range.  Any way I can fix this?

    Thanks

  • #181

    Yep, the only built-in template that does this properly at the moment is the "Heal Frame" one. There is no reason I can't retro-fit this to all of the other raid frames, in fact I have no idea why I didn't do this ages ago. I'll get it into the next release.

    The same goes for the cleansable debuff tracking. Only the "Heal Frame" does this, but I should really add something to all of the raid frames to show when someone needs cleansing.

  • #184

    Thanks this will be very helpfull

    Love the addon!

    Error: file 'wtLibCore/wtVersionCheck.lua' not found
    In Gadgets

    anyway to change the unit frames COLOR to the role, like how nkthings does the mana bar the class of the target, and any updates to the colors and such used for the bars

    D'oh, I was sure I'd committed that file. I didn't spot the error, because ofc it exists on my machine :(

    I've hacked the toc file and uploaded a new ZIP, but it needs to go through Curse's approval process because I can't use my repo from work.

    The colours that get used are based on the template that you're using. For example, the original "Raid Frame" does colour itself based on class, while the Octanus frames colour the mana bar, and the heal frames colour the unit's name. I've been avoiding adding in more options for overriding templates due to the supposed imminent release of a new type of unit frame. However, this keeps getting pushed back, so I'll instead look at adding a colour override to the current templates as an interim solution.

  • #176

    yeah i mean nkthings is JUST amazing, I mean amzing, and if you can make it like that with the options I would be a very very very happy girl

    just got this error message after entering the game.  i just downloaded the latest version.

    Thanks for letting me know - I'll check it now. I'm assuming you had a prestige bar on screen?

  • #177

    no, just the regular UI's XP bar and the Planar Attunement bar.

    this is my screen http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/8051/20130218203328.jpg
