Description and Features

This Addon includes fully tested support for all Rift instanced raiding content, including full and partial support for: Grim Awakening, Endless Eclipse, Frozen Tempest, Triumph of the Dragon Queen, All base level 50 Raids and Slivers, and Expert and Master Dungeons. Various new and existing features are being included on a regular basis including; Mechanic Timers, Custom Mechanic Monitors (e.g. Rune King Molinar and Kolmasveli), Encounter Timers, Tank Swap monitors, Adjustable boss casting bars, Boss cast bar ability filtering, Enrage Timers and many more.

  • Note: All Encounters have full to partial support for English, German, French and Russian translations unless explicitly stated.

Tank-Swap Monitor (T-SM)

  • Automatically tracks all tanks simultaneously and displays debuff stack and duration information.
  • Full tracking of tank stack and debuff duration by any raid member.
  • Displays each tanks HP bar, updates real-time.
  • Tracks and displays all tanks death states.

Advanced Encounter Tracking

Each supported boss encounter includes the following:

  • Encounter timer display in MM:SS format.
  • Enrage timer display in MM:SS format. (where applicable)
  • Phase tracking display. (where applicable)
  • Objective tracking display. (where applicable)
  • Ready Check support with overview.
  • Rez Master, combat res monitor.
  • Main boss always visible castbar tracking. (skill filters where supported)
  • Selection of optional mechanic or skill timers and screen alerts.
  • Dynamic timers which can change duration during an encounter.
  • Advanced dynamic linked interrupt engine. Links cast interrupts and alert triggers.
  • Customize the size of all Timers, Alerts, Castbars and Phase Tracking.
  • Customize individual colors of Timers, Alerts and Cast filters.
  • English, German, Russian, Korean, Taiwanese, Chinese and French client support.


/kbmoff Turns off the Addon's triggering methods.
/kbmon Turns on the Addon's triggering methods.
/kbmdefault List available keywords to reset specific items to default.
/kbmoptions Toggle the GUI Options screen on/off).
/kbmhelp Display these commands in-game).
/kbmversion Displays the current version in chat.
/kbmreset Try this before using /reloadui, or if the encounter has ended in success didn't announce a victory.

/ReloadUI Use this in-case of any errors during the encounter. It'll reset it and the monitor "should" continue from where it left off.

    Just wanted to let you know there is a typo in the ID file, Warmaster of the Ember Conclave has his named spelled incorrectly which is throwing an error at the beginning of the encounter (~line 250 if memory serves)

    Thanks for Reporting this. A ticket was submitted a couple of days back and I'm pleased to say it should be fixed for the next alpha cycle, which is within the next few hours. I'm forcing myself to run some Randoms to make sure my new Boss matching code works better.

    Also fixed is Ereetu in FoLH and his name-sake in The Ember Conclave forgetting where they are.

    Infernal Dawn

    Greetings all,

    Now that I've fixed KBM to work fully with Rift 1.8, work has resumed on completing Warboss Drak. I'll also be starting the encounter layouts for the remaining unlocked bosses which have already seen world firsts and have publicly available strategies and videos.

    I will be releasing content at a faster pace than usual since things can change and KBM obviously needs to keep pace. Update activity around the launch of new instances will always be hectic, but with everything I've learned over the months and created, things should now go much smoother and faster than before.

    Features I'd planned to add, and existing features I'd penned in to be upgraded will take I short back-seat while I concentrate on providing useful support for ID.

    1.8 Minor Glitches

    There are some reports of minor glitches in KBM since the launch of 1.8. Nothing too serious, and nothing addon breaking. But, fear not. I'm working on ironing out the compatibility with 1.8.

    If your encounter doesn't reset its timers after a wipe, please use the slash command /kbmreset to force a manual wipe situation.

    Also, if you're having some issues with Smart-Tracking option in AddWatch, I would suggest turning it off until fully compatible v1.8 sources are available to download.

    Along with the switch to fully supporting Rift 1.8 there will be some additional timers, alerts and phase tracking for Warboss Drak in Infernal Dawn, and possibly some others!

    I installed King Boss Mod and like it so far, but an issue is preventing me from fully enjoying it. That white text that usually appears in the middle of the screen such as 'The Earth Rumbles' or whenever an orb is being thrown at someone by akylios, well, it most of the time appears at the top left of my screen, so I can only see the name of the person. I've looked into my Edit Layout menu ingame and the notifications are technically centered, as far as the screen alerts in the addon menu, they are also technically displaying in the middle. I just don't understand why 3/4 of the time those notifications appear off the screen instead of in the center and would like to know how to resolve that issue.

    Ahh, this is actually an issue with Rift and not related to the Add-On system at all. The Rift internal alerts (Notification Messages), if they are linked to another UI element will bug out sometimes. I wish I had the thread link, but it was discussed a while back. I can't remember the solution off hand, but I think it's something along the lines of ensuring that the Notification Messages (in the Screen Layout section for Rift) box is not attached/locked/linked to any other box.

    When editting your layout I suggest removing the check from "Essential HUD Elements". This will ensure everything is visible and can be set correctly. Again, you won't be able to do anything in the KBM settings as the two things are not related in any way.

    What I may do, is actually allow people to replace the Rift internal notification system with one I could write myself. This would be more like the Alert Text KBM has and allow me to possibly customize it further at a later date.

    Check this Video of a recent Arakhurn Kill using 0.9.9. It is side-by-side with the other one. The timer for the first Nova is spot on. I guess, the question would be what they do differently to you? if nothing, then it leads to notion it could just be randomly timed now.

    The timer for the first Nova when he rises is the "minimum" amount of time it can happen. There are various things during the rise phase after the last trigger that can cause his first cast to drift slightly. But, it should never be late. If it is, I'll need to look in to this again, it may be they just made it random now.

    If it is out too often (I've seen recent videos where it is perfect to within a second), I may just ditch it entirely. Unless that is I can figure out what exactly is causing Nova to be late.

    Tried that, cant fully confirm yet that it works but it seems better thanks for the help.

    It seems that the fire nova timer is off on the high priest (last boss of RoTP) after he rises from its ashes. I am not sure if this is fixable, just thought i'd let you know.

    Just a heads up that the recent issues in the Alpha with regards to CPU usage and a glitch with Mechanic Spy on Sicaron and Joloran should now be fixed in the latest alpha (v1.0.0.r333).

    First of all, Amazing addon :) Great job on capturing all the mechanics, and seting a great display for them.

    I'm not sure its a known issue or not but me and other guildies that are using the addon have started having memory leaks. the CPU usage is getting bigger and bigger after each wipe until you need relog, I think that respawing and entering the raid instance also helps reset it.

    Right, on with the CPU issue. It was a known issue as of yesterday. But, the latest Alpha version does have a fix for it. Although, the fix seems to have possibly thrown out one of the Plug-Ins or Mechanic Spy which can error out on certain bosses.

    There are several people running the Alpha at the moment who are reporting improved performance. Just need to get a screenshot of the bug so I can fix it and  v1.0.0 can go live.

    If you feel like helping out you can also run 1.0.0.r332 alpha, and see if you get the error also. I'll be keeping everyone informed if the bug is found. I've run a few raids since r332 went live and not managed to get the error unfortunately.

    Is there any way to allow non-leader/asst raid members to mark? Or any other way KBM/MarkIt could be utilised to mark a friendly inside a warfront?

    Not at the moment. The add-on API simply doesn't have support for it. But, it is getting very close to where Mark-It will be able to have extra mark numbers and/or Symbols (think Skulls, Crosses etc) and the ability to bypass the Mark as lead system.

    There will be some limitations I'll implement though, that will mean if you're not a Raid Leader/Assistant then the marks will only be local to you, as during important Raids I feel having anyone being able to mark could get quite annoying and confusing sometimes.

    I'm currently toying with the idea of having a "Group" system where people can create a group with a password and only the people will share non-assist/RL marks.

    In conclusion - it's coming but not possible at the moment.
