About RareTracker
RareTracker is my take on a rare-mob hunting addon.
If you are in a zone with Rare mobs, then RareTracker will display 2 things.
1. A window listing rare mobs, distance to their spawn point and an arrow showing COMPASS direction
This window can be moved by dragging the title bar around whilst holding the left mouse button.
Clicking with the left mouse button on the darker green MODE: line, will toggle between Available and ALL modes.
Left clicking on any of the elements (arrow/name/range) will toggle the inclusion of that named mob from the
list. This can be used (along with Available mode) to only show the ones you are still interested in finding.
Right clicking on any of these elements will toggle the coloration of the entry. Useful for marking you've visted that location.
In ALL mode, the excluded ones are shown, but their name is coloured Red - they can be clicked to toggle
inclusion status as normal.
If you RIGHT click the MODE: line, it will show a red bar with 2 labels - NAME: and RANGE: - moving the mousewheel
up/down over these labels will cause the textsize used in the tracker to change.
2. An icon showing a white diamond on a red or green background.
This icon can be moved by dragging it around, whilst holding the right mouse button.
It can be resized by using the mousewheel up/down whilst hovering over it.
The icon will have a green background if there is a macro associated with it, or red if there is not.
A macro is built and added to the icon for all rare mobs that appear in the tracker and are within 300m of your current location.
The icon can be left-clicked to active the macro that is associated with it.

I have the tracker installed. Since a while i only see the 2 diamonds, but not the windows with the arrows. I deleted and reinstalled it, but still the same Problem! Hope somebody can help...
What colour is the circular diamond icon ?
It should be green - if it is gray, then left click on it. That should turn it green.
If that doesn help, try pasting this:
/script RareTracker_Settings.gpsx=100 RareTracker_Settings.gpsy = 100
That should relocate the tracker window with the directions near the topleft of the screen.
Festering Boil has two (3) locations. If you highlight one you've been to it highlights them both.
The location of Rendfang in Stonefield is off, it can be found at about (5750, 4800)
I am trying to install this addon and it doesn't show up in my addons list. I have tried installing via Curse installer and manually neither method works. Do I have to install something other then the addon to make it show up?
Same here, i CANNOT get this to show up at all. Double checked my addon folder & there is nothing wrong with it. No unnecessary sub-folders, etc. Curse installer says it's installed it, it shows up in the addon folder, but will not load (and subsequesntly disappears from the Curse Client list of addons.) I've deleted it, manually downloaded & dragged unzipped folder to Addon Folder & it still does not work. I've installed a few other addons in the past few days with zero problems, so not sure what is up with this one. I'm on a Mac, for what it's worth & never had a issue before.
I found Ranger Fahrand a fair bit away from the objective location (per the interface 255m away) He was on top of the hill at the outside corner of the building at 1973,7388 so perhaps he has a 2nd spawn point.
Hi!
First of all: THANKS for this wonderfull addon!
Here are a few corrections and additions (at least the german and english names are confirmed!)
Droughtlands
One must not search for "Enraged Scarab" because you have to find a "Strange Mound" and attack it. There are three waves of scarabs, and the one we're searching for is in the last wave. So you'll never find this mob like all the others...
Add the following line to the Droughlands section:
{ n={["EN"]="Strange Mound", ["FR"]="Tertre étrange", ["DE"]="Seltsamer Hügel"}, x=7580, z=6645},
Iron Pine Peak
Swirling Tempest's correct german translation is "Sausender Wirbelsturm".
Besides the wrong translation, this rare has a huge path and spawns in "Howling Caves".
Replace the original line with the following lines in the Iron Pine Peak Section:
{ n={["EN"]="Swirling Tempest", ["FR"]="Tempête tourbillonnante", ["DE"]="Sausender Wirbelsturm"}, x=3644, z=1560, t="[1]"},
{ n={["EN"]="Swirling Tempest", ["FR"]="Tempête tourbillonnante", ["DE"]="Sausender Wirbelsturm"}, x=3560, z=1605, t="[2]"},
{ n={["EN"]="Swirling Tempest", ["FR"]="Tempête tourbillonnante", ["DE"]="Sausender Wirbelsturm"}, x=3969, z=1722, t="[3]"},
{ n={["EN"]="Swirling Tempest", ["FR"]="Tempête tourbillonnante", ["DE"]="Sausender Wirbelsturm"}, x=3788, z=1251, t="[4]"},
{ n={["EN"]="Swirling Tempest", ["FR"]="Tempête tourbillonnante", ["DE"]="Sausender Wirbelsturm"}, x=3696, z=1265, t="[5]"},
Eastern Holdings
As Amagednon already said, the mob "Plaguefang" is missing...
Add the following line to the Eastern Holdings Section:
{ n={["EN"]="Plaguefang", ["FR"]="Peste-croc", ["DE"]="Seuchenhauer"}, x=7821, z=7376},
Moonshade Highlands
As Swirling Tempest, Nytami also has a huge path he's walking. Using the coordinates used in RareTracker, there's only a slim chance to find him.
Add the following Lines to the Moonshade Highlands to widen the search range:
{ n={["EN"]="Nytami", ["FR"]="Nytami", ["DE"]="Nytami"}, x=6460, z=1349, t="[1]"},
{ n={["EN"]="Nytami", ["FR"]="Nytami", ["DE"]="Nytami"}, x=6556, z=1528, t="[2]"},
{ n={["EN"]="Nytami", ["FR"]="Nytami", ["DE"]="Nytami"}, x=6750, z=1321, t="[3]"},
the second position I saw on a couple of videos on youtube and the third is the one where I killed him half an hour ago :)
Thanks! Added them into 2.02r7
Also - thanks for clarification of the german name for Swirling Tempest -- there were 3 different translations in the Rift discoveries file, so I picked one -- the wrong one as it turns out! =/
is there any way u can put a suppressmacro failure in this addon due to it spams my chat box saying can not target or let us have a check box to turn that thing off ?
Im afraid that supressmacrofailures doesnt stop the spamming of 'No target with the name...'
I wish it did - but it doesnt.
Is there a way to resize the addon? It's taking up most of my screen... (I don't like scaling down the entire UI)
From the description =P
If you RIGHT click the MODE: line, it will show a red bar with 2 labels - NAME: and RANGE: - moving the mousewheel up/down over these labels will cause the textsize used in the tracker to change.
Oh. Well then. I will go stuff my head into a hole now then. My bad, I apparently suck at reading. Apologies for the re-re question!
I noticed that in Eastern holdings Plaguefang is missing. Possibly one of the easiest to get to/check on since many go into the zone via the nearby portal. He is at (approximately) 7843,7408
