If you have the latest version, you can left-click on the little arrow next to the DPS/HPS labels to change what to display.

Also, you can right click the labels themselves to cycle between different columns.

How difficult would it be to aggregate damage data by damage type (physical, life, death, earth, fire, etc)?  This would be pretty handy in PvP, as you could quickly ascertain the types of resistances that would be most beneficial during a match, without have to analyze all the spells that are being thrown about.

yeah simple meter for a reason. What you need is act or rift junkies.

  • #56

The addon is called "Simple" meter, not "Complex" meter ;)

  • #57

And because of it's simplicity I love it.  When things are going bad seemingly out of the blue, it's great to see if dps is a factor.

Mine has fallen off my screen, how can i reset it? is there an ingame command for it?

  • #55

    /sm reset

Great addon -- would love to see it track cleansing! As a healer,  I'd love to know most stats about what healers are doing during a fight other than simple hps which is somewhat pointless.

@TCircuits  how do you know that this has caused you to be banned!?!?

  • #50

WARNING: This addon is causing accounts to get banned.  This is the ONLY addon I have & my account is now currently banned.  My account is using the mobile authenticator option from Rift.

Will be canceling my subscripton to Curse since they obviously can't screen or communicate to the game developers that the addons they host are clean & safe of hacks.

how do you paste it to the chat log -I see it says hit control+c i hit it and does nothing I know im little slow could you help me figure this out so i can show the meter to others when we play togther ty:)

  • #49

For a while I had the same problem too, but I figured it out. When that line for you to Control+C is there at the bottom, you can not have any chat tab active otherwise it won't work.

For example, if you're typing to a friend or in party and try to Control+C the parse, you'll actually be copying nothing at all. Be sure to press ESC to get out of the chat tabs, and once no chat is active, then Control+C, and then go back to your chat tab, or simply press Enter to active the chat tab, and then Control+V to paste the parse.

FINALLY people are recognizing this as the best dps meter.....its been the best by far since 1.5 launched ;]

only thing i would like to see would be a petdps beatdown on a seperate click of the ally/enemy names...

    something like:

    Gebb                           dps / hps
    - (petname)               dps / hps

otherwise, keep it up..awesome addon  ;D

    damage types

Thanks for your work on this. Making "wtf just happened" more visible and understandable improves strategy and tactics. I think good UI can help a lot.

For damage breakout, there are two subtotals interesting in addition to by ability. The first is physical vs magical; this is significant because tank mitigation like block, parry, and dodge work against phys and if magic is killing you, there's not much point in working on those stats. If you have all the skills memorized, this would be obvious from the percentages, but most people don't. The second is then breakout of magic by earth/fire/life/etc. I've been in semi-guild raids where people were wiping simply because they did not have enough effective HP against (oh) AoE Life damage. Making the real causes of death visible to both the victims and raid leaders would help with response, either by buffing HP or resists.

In terms of statistics-gathering, tanks do care about how much block has absorbed. Perhaps this is how to handle other kids of shielding: a per-victim total of damage diverted.  From my biased point of view this would be broken out into block vs everything else, so it would at least be apparent to bystanders just how much the shielding is keeping the tank up.

In the realm of wild guessing, perhaps dodge and parry could show up as a count of the time each ability was avoided. Then it could be multiplied by the average damage that ability did hit for when not avoided.

Critical hits are what really kill (since they can break through PvP heals and pressure, and obviously undertough PvE doesn't last very long.) Similarly, 4000 damage received in one GCD is far more important than some dot over 20. I have no idea what information would be useful though. As a victim with (say) 5000 HP, a filter of the abilities doing the last 5000 or 10000 points of damage, maybe.
