    damage types

Thanks for your work on this. Making "wtf just happened" more visible and understandable improves strategy and tactics. I think good UI can help a lot.

For damage breakout, there are two subtotals interesting in addition to by ability. The first is physical vs magical; this is significant because tank mitigation like block, parry, and dodge work against phys and if magic is killing you, there's not much point in working on those stats. If you have all the skills memorized, this would be obvious from the percentages, but most people don't. The second is then breakout of magic by earth/fire/life/etc. I've been in semi-guild raids where people were wiping simply because they did not have enough effective HP against (oh) AoE Life damage. Making the real causes of death visible to both the victims and raid leaders would help with response, either by buffing HP or resists.

In terms of statistics-gathering, tanks do care about how much block has absorbed. Perhaps this is how to handle other kids of shielding: a per-victim total of damage diverted.  From my biased point of view this would be broken out into block vs everything else, so it would at least be apparent to bystanders just how much the shielding is keeping the tank up.

In the realm of wild guessing, perhaps dodge and parry could show up as a count of the time each ability was avoided. Then it could be multiplied by the average damage that ability did hit for when not avoided.

Critical hits are what really kill (since they can break through PvP heals and pressure, and obviously undertough PvE doesn't last very long.) Similarly, 4000 damage received in one GCD is far more important than some dot over 20. I have no idea what information would be useful though. As a victim with (say) 5000 HP, a filter of the abilities doing the last 5000 or 10000 points of damage, maybe.

    I got 2 requests:

    1) Would it be possible to not add an encounter in the meter's history if neither Ally or Enemy has done any damage? I have a lot of empty encounters where Ally and Enemy have 0 dps/hps. I get that it stores any information when you get in combat, but sometimes you get stuck in combat for a bit but there's no actual combat;

    2) Would it be possible so that when we paste the information from the meter, either DPS or HPS or whatever, it doesn't list the @servername? Doing T2s, it's a bit annoying pasting all that @servername.

Thank you so much for this add-on.

Also if you could write in the name of the encounter (Boss names, Mob names, etc) thanks.

    this Addon is pro btw!

In port scion when you get large groups of players together, the dps list runs off the screen. Could you make it so that we can limit the number of people who show up on the list, like top five highest DPS scores for each faction, so that it doesn't run off the screen. I would just like to be able to control the length of the list, that's all.

You can click the green or red sections to switch between different modes.  There is "all", "top 5", "self" and "total"

Can u add absorbs to HPS and healing done?

  • #39

Unfortunately no, because I wouldn't know who to attribute the healing to.

This is my favorite DPS meter, and I've tried them all. Many thanks for this awesome addon!

Great Addon thnx soo much for make n it perfect for me

Any way to hide enemy dps/hps?
  • #32
Any way to have it store more than 15 encounters? I really like being able to show the total parse at the end of a raid or T2, but with this add-on I can't since it only keeps track of the last 15 encounters and that's not enough for a raid/T2, so I'm still having to run Riftjunkie's parser for that reason.

"All" shows all DPS/HPS for the session, so it will keep track of more than the last 15 encounters.

simple meter splits the player dps and the pet to change it ?

how to set the player and the pet dps together ?

So far I haven't had any problems with this add on. I'm loving the UI.

Why is it that other people that aren't in my group/raid make it to the list?
A good example is both the chronicles and testing dummies. The NPCs that help you make it to the list all the time during the chronicles. And when I'm doing some tests in the Dummies, other people very often make it to the list as well.
Using the 2.1 version of SimpleMeter.
