Split encounter ends your current fight and starts a new one immediately. It works like the "split" feature on a stopwatch. If you're in "All" mode it won't do anything, but if you're looking at single encounters, you should see the # of encounters go up by one and the stats clear and start recording as if it was a new fight. You can then go back and look at the previous encounter, which will have your DPS/HPS up until you hit "Split"

Love this dps meter. I use it over the other 2 I have tried. All three did show the same personal dps each fight I did. However, a few us of use it at the same time in dungeons and it never reports the same dps/hps from player to player. What was showing to me shows differently to each other person running the addon.

It's not going to be the same, because unlike a parser this addon isn't accurate yet. It only kicks in after you do your 2nd hit, so your 1st hit doesn't count AND it only starts when YOU get the 2nd attack in. With ACT or Riftjunkie's parsers they start the moment you get in combat, without actually needing to hit anything, just as long as your party member or raid member attack something.
If this add-on could ever get to work the moment you'd get in combat, whether it's you attacking or something else in your party/raid AND it counted your 1st attack if you're the 1st person attacking, then this add-on would make ANY parser useless.

For some reason sometimes after a boss encounter it will continue a parse for like 3 seconds after. Which kills meters. Am I the only one that it happens to?

Is it possible for the meter to start working when you are in combat, rather than when you first attack?
Right now, not even our first attack counts towards the parser, only from the second hit that it starts to parse.
Also, when we're in a raid situation, the parse is very skewed since it only starts at the time we get our 2nd hit in, rather than when we're all in combat.

your 1st attack puts you into combat, tracking wont start untill combat starts, There are multiple issues with the rift API which Jor himslef cannot fix ofc. A good example is outside a raid (open world) you could attack a mob of 5 yet only the one you target shows in the dps meter, this is due to the way rift is designed to prevent unit scanning. Works 100% in raids and dungeons.

This would be a great thing to change.

    great work jor,
    i have 1 question.
is it possible to hide enemy information and only view allies? or vice versa ?
  • #6
Ya i would love a resize option. I would also KILL for interrupt and cleanse meters. Is there anyway you could include interrupts on this meter? there could be an option on the meter to show or hide interrupts on the meter. This will help like no other on fights like Murdantix, as I am an officer in our raids.

Try for interrupts. I downloaded it, and I never miss an interrupt now. Great for DH/GP/GSB and also awesome for pvp.

Like said below, best Meter addon to date. One thing would make it even better is being able to remove the header that says "Simple Meter". Waste of space :P

Oh, and allow us to resize it, I feel its a bit big (nothing compared to the other Meters out there though)

    Keep up the good work!

The sont size is set, which wont allow for resizing however, it can be programmed to change the font size when the dimension reaches a certain value but it could be to small to read

Is it possible to have Player Coloring by Calling ?

Also it will be great to also have Crit + Hit on it

Can you add a button to stop parsing? The reason that I ask is that when testing DPS on dummies, you stay in combat until you run half a mile from the dummies, all the while doing 0dps and it distorts your DPS. Don't let parsing start again until you maybe reclick the button or unclick it, otherwise you'll lose the result as soon as you enter combat again.

A very nice addon though, my current favourite ingame meter :)
