About Ability Alert!
- This simple addon will give you an alert when a cooldown is completed for a ability (your own or your pet's) and ready for use. The alert is sent to the upper section of the screen or to WSCT, view the screenshot for a sample.
- Requirements
- NOTE: This AddOn requires LibSlash. http://www.curse.com/downloads/detail.../13510/
- EA_ActionBars, if you use a button bar replacement AddOn this might or might not work.
- Command line options
- Display options
- If "show all" is used the filtertext will hide abilities. If using "show none" the filtertext will display those abilities.
- /aa show [all|none] - show all/none abilities. Filtertext will hide (all) or display (none)
- /aa add [filtertext] - adds a filter for the given alert text (can be partial)
- /aa del [filtertext] - removes a filter for the given alert text
- /aa list - list filters
- Reactive ability options
- Reactive abilities are abilities that trigger from block, parry, disrupt/etc. Anything that is not active until a specific event should work.
- /aa radd [monitor text] - add reactive monitor for ability (full name or partial text)
- /aa rdel [monitor text] - delete a reactive monitor.
- /aa rlist - list reactive monitor abilities.
- WSCT Options
- /aa wsct [enable|disable|both] - use WSCT if installed, or use WSCT and standard output.
- /aa wsctframe [1|2|3] - change WSCT output frame to 1, 2 or 3.
- Customize layout options
- Alert Window
- Known issues
- Currently if you have the same ability on the button bar more than once you will receive an alert for each of those copies on the bar.
- When the .mod file revision is updated it forces the SavedVariables.lua and windows to reset. I've stopped updating that until a work around can be found.

Action bar CD, as mentioned before, is a big problem for this addon.
Example:
"Whirling Pin"
"Whirling Pin"
"Whirling Pin"
"Whirling Pin"
"Whirling Pin"
"Whirling Pin"
I'm using Vertigo, WSCT and Ability Alert!.
I want to have AA show when my Silence the Heretic ability is ready etc.
I've tried configuring it, but it won't show up :-/
Otherwise, I guess the other way to do it is to be able to make it say "flashfire" or something to the top of the screen. Is that doable and what's the best way to do it?
Is there any other way to disable reactives?
/aa show none
/aa add AbilityYouWantToSee
If you want to hide only certain ones then:
/aa show all
/aa add AbilityYouWantTohide
It shows up too often. I don't mean like twice or so when its cooldown is over (it doesn't and its only on my quickbar once).
Its a ground targeted AE spell and therefore doesn't need a target, yet its range its set to 80ft, which is the range I can set it on the ground.
80ft away, the spell marks as unavailable (i can still cast it though, since it doesn't need a target).
Now whenever I cross that 80ft mark, or target someone closer or noone at all (no target=button shows as ok), basicly whenever the button switches from not available to available and back, AA triggers a "Pit of Shades" ready message.
Its quite disturbing.
Its just that spell, all other spells that mark as red or not don't cause that problem.
It works for other "normal" sorc spells like Gloom of Night or Grip of Fear though.
Its nothing with the code, but with one of my filters. On my swordmaster a long time ago I tried to filter out the Parry messages, since I had not after-parry style i didn't care for them. The filter "[parry]" accomplished that...
Unfortunately its interpreted as a regular expression in your isFiltered function and basicly filters out any ability with one of those letters in, I'm surprised I didn't notice any odd behaviour earlier (i guess it filtered alot more abilities, I just never cared for those).
So its nothing with your code, but for curiousity sake, how do you filter out those parry notifications?
