Thanks Chat Alert! v1.8!!!!
/infomercial
I'll see about adding a option to alter the sounds but right now most people don't know how to get a list of all the ingame sound values to use so I didn't see much use.
Options would be much appreciated, when you find the time/impetus/energy. This is a great addon but in a busy guild, the constant BONGGGGGG is getting a little old. :D
Love this mod! Hopefully Mythic incorporates it into the default UI and gives you credit. :)
If mythic would just give us the ability to use custom sounds for these things I'd be happy ;)
Actually you can change the sounds on this addon, but only to WAR in-game sounds. Just open the ChatAlert.lua with notepad, and scroll all the way down to the bottom. There you will find the sounds. "TELL_RECEIVE" has the sound (219) or "SHOUT" has (1106). I changed the GROUP sound to (1111) because i had problems hearing any sounds. Btw, if you do not want any sound at all, you can use (1000). To be able to test the sounds, I made a "reload UI" macro (/reload) and a "shout" macro (/shout [any message here]. I was then able to listen very quickly just by editing the "shout" sound (1106) in ChatAlert.lua, then save it and use my two macros in-game. Not sure if this is legal to do, but for me it was the choice of editing the sounds or not using the addon at all. Maybe the author can make in-game commands to change sounds in the future. Thank you for this great addon Celestion.
Is there a way to disable some sounds? I like some, others I don't want to hear.
Right now there are no options to do so. I will see about getting those options in after the game has went retail for a week or so.
