About Debuff Alert!

  • Debuff alert is a simple mod that displays the name of the buff/effect cast on you. This could be beneficial buffs from friends or debuffs from your enemies (snares/dots/etc). You can filter all but the effects you want notices for or show all effect types.
NOTE: This AddOn requires LibSlash. http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-ad.../libslash.aspx
  • Command line options
/da add [filter]
Add a buff to monitor/display such as "/da add Enfeebling Strike". This filter will cause the effect to be displayed if showall disabled, if showall enabled the effect will be hidden.
/da del [filter]
Delete a buff you previously were monitoring from the list.
/da list
List all added monitored effect names.
/da monitor [buff|debuff|other|all]
show effects that are buffs, debuffs "other" or all of them. Other effects are not tagged as "Debuff" but could be.
/da showtype [on|off]
show or not show the type of effect (Curse, Enchantment/etc)
/da showall [enable|disable] *default enabled*
Show ALL effects or not
/da wsct [enable|disable|both]
Disable WSCT output even if you have it installed. You can use "both" and it will display in WSCT and the standard windows.
/da cfg
Show the current configuration settings.
  • Layout, can move the following windows
De/buffs received window
De/buffs removed window
  • Known issues
When the .mod file revision is updated it forces the SavedVariables.lua and windows to reset. I've stopped updating that until a work around can be found.

Great mod, thanks. Right now you can filter between buffs, debuffs and others. It would be really useful to be able to expand that filter to the different types of debuff. Id love to be able to see only hexes, curses and ailments, for example. Would that be possible in a future update?

In Version 1.4 there seems to be a cnp fault in DebuffAlert.SlashHandler, line 373. I think it should be monitorOthers instead of monitorDebuffs.
  • #8
1.4 includes the green colour for buffs, red for debuffs.

also added a /da showtype on|off option so you can see "enchantment" "cripple"/etc if the information is available.

Excellent mod, thank you! I have one request, could you have an option to make incoming buffs show up as green instead of red? Debuffs should remain red though. (This is for the WSCT integration setting btw, both buffs and debuffs are showing up as red.)

I redid my filters today and copied the saved variables after. After several log outs/ins my original filters were still saved, however upon this last relog, the mod is acting like the filters are gone. I checked my folder and my list of filters is still there. Not sure what's going on. I keep my mods updated with the curse client, btw.

Yes, it should keep your filters. The SavedVariables.lua should reside somewhere here if you have settings per character:

    C:\Games\Warhammer Online\user\interface\\\DebuffAlert

Open up your SavedVariables.lua file and the "watchThese" should have the values you input.

If you crashed out you will probably lose the entries you made that session. I tested this just now and the variables I entered are there after logging out and logging back in.

I just spent 10 minutes manually adding what events I wanted to see in conjunction with the /da showall disable command. After logging off and back in, the settings are back to default and everything is shown. Are your settings supposed to be saved or what?

I've got a new version I'll upload soon as the dev site is backup. The new one will hide effects using the filter if you have showall enabled and show effects in filter if you have showall disabled.

Should work for either side of the fence.

After trying this out for a bit, I have one request:

If show all is enabled, please still let us add buffs to filter out. I just want to filter out one or two buffs while showing all the rest, and I don't want to make a huge whitelist to do it!

    Cheers, great mod.

Awesome! How are these colored if they're integrated into WSCT? Which events do they trigger on?
