About EveryBodyGuard

EveryBodyGuard helps tanks to switch guard in their groups more effectively.
It will disable itself if your character are not a tank.

Simple Usage

Click on the groupmember in trouble until it says it has guard. (red circle)

Complete Description

Actions based on Clicks or Hotkeys

If you left click (or use a hotkey) on one of you groupmember through EBG these are the things that happen.

  1. If you don't target this member already -> target member
  2. If somebody other than your target has guard from you -> release guard
  3. If your are not guarding your target already -> guard target
  4. Your target has already guard from you -> DO NOTHING

Right Click → assist groupmember (only Standard Display)

Display

  • The white frame displays the current target. (only Standard Display)
  • The yellow indicator shows that you tried to give this groupmember guard,
    but the server didn't confirmed it yet.
  • The indicator will flash white if you have a running global coooldown,
    this means guard has been blocked because it would have failed anyway.
  • The red indicator shows that this groupmember has guard from you.
  • There will be an icon above the head of you guard target.
  • The frames are moveable independently to adjust the layout to your UI. (only Standard Display)

Hotkeys

Your Hotkeys from "Target Groupmember X" will be read out and transfered to "Actionbar 67-71". You can change them through Mythics settings if you need. Everytime the addon shuts down the Hotkeys will be transfered back. So if EBG is active, your standard groupmember target buttons will be redirected to trigger EBG functions. If you disable this feature in the settings window you'll need to set your Hotkeys manually.

Settings

If you have LibSlash installed you can use "/EveryBodyGuard" or "/ebg" to open it.

  • Choose your Display, the Standard one or one that is integrates into Squared.
  • Disable the HeadIcon if you don't need it.
  • Disable the automatic Hotkey reassign if you have continous problems with it.

Known Problems

  • Some user have occasionally problems with the automatic hotkey reassign

    oh sorry. The problem is warhammer online, does not recognize the addon at all and displays a failed to load sign next to it.so in return I dont see the unit frames on my screen and cannot perform my duties as a tank.

    If you click on EBG in the Addon overview
    what raeson does it state, so it couldn't load ?
    Maybe you have Squared or Enemy installed
    but disabled in your Addon Overview.

    Wow thx man, all I need was enable squared and it worked. I dont usually use squared as a tank, but I can just hide it in my UI no biggy.

    It's a annoying bug in Mythics system, that you can't disable Addons that you optionally depend on.
    You have to enable them again or uninstall them. :/

    dude your the best for creating this addon, i've noticed that when I try to guard someone who is being focused that it will work faster now, unlike last time where i would keep clicking and nothing would happen

    Actual I take what I said back. Because Tonight I tried to throw guard on my healer was was catching the beat down of a life time, and this EBG system wouldnt let me put guard on him. it just flickered red and white colors and that was it. Until I had to manualy put guard on him, which involved clicking him and than finding and click on the guard ability.This made me very sour, because I miss the guard on my main healer it cost us the scenario, seeing as he was our only healer.

    The white flashes are ok, and intended, because they protect you against the global cooldown.
    If the red marker vanished right after it lit up, you may have found a new bug. I will have a general look into the code, but if you could give me some help about the timing of the red flash an the environment (like: near a zerg/how was the lag/did you click fast,constantly or not/...), that would help me where I have to search for the bug.

    I'm an avid guard swapping tank. I swap guard to anyone taking damage. I often find myself watching the health bars of others more than a healer does. I was curious about this addon after hearing good things about it, so I gave it a three week trial. Unfortunately, this program is too unreliable. Sometimes it's very good and swaps guard quite efficiently and fast. However, in my experience and more often than not, I have swapped guard between targets under focus fire only for the program to fail and cause my groupmate to die. I think it has to do with the way it's coded against the gcd. If you're looking for a good and efficient guard swapping program that is reliable under focus fire, I suggest IsHealBot. This addon is too unreliable in it's current state. Cheers.

    For me it's not possible to put all cool features into the first release,
    because no release would have happend until now if I did.
    The problem you are mentioning is one of the targets for the next release.
    I have some time now after I had a decent amount of stress in the last weeks.
    I would be happy to seen another comment from you after I released the next version. :)

    I would gladly try and test this mod again. It has a lot of promise. Especially, if you code a way to swap Dark Protector/Oathfriend simultaneously with guard. DP/Oathfriend go through the animation like they're on a GCD but I can both apply guard and dark protector in under a second and a half. Weird.

    It would be helpful if you would add your thougths about this to the comments of the ticket. (you can use your curse.com account)
    Ofcourse there is the limitation that you'll need another click for the ability to trigger.
    If the idea is complete I'll begin to code again for this addon,
    afterall this is only one of many addons I take care of.

    I have a nice overview what has to be done
