Damn, loving the options in v0.6 Beta. Keep up the amazing work on your mods!

    Glad you like it :D

You can use the Export/Import options too. For example:
    squared-distances-layer:n:4|squared-distances-color-alpha:n:1|squared-distances-delay:n:0|squared-distances-font:s:font_heading_tiny_no_shadow|squared-distances-color:t:208,227,0|squared-distances-scale:n:0.80244797468185|squared-distances-position-y:n:2|squared-distances-useglobalscale:b:false|squared-distances-position-x:n:3|squared-distances-anchorpoint:s:bottomleft

Just place correct values and merge it with your layout code from the http://war.curseforge.com/addons/squared/images/15-user-submitted-ratsug/

It's a fine addition to Squared, but I've encountered one problem, the labels are interactive, means, they catch the click instead of the button below.

    Hi Kenh,

Just tested, it works fine here. I can click on the label with no problem.
The label defined with the handleinput="false" option in the XML file.

So far this addon is great, as are your others. One question, are there any plans to implement positional, size, font, or other such settings to this for those that use a custom squared layout? I had to tweak my ratsug layout (http://war.curseforge.com/addons/squared/images/15-user-submitted-ratsug/) in order to avoid any overlaps.

    Anyways awesome work.

    Thank you ;)

Yes, yes and yes! Scale, font, position, layer and color. Everything will be implemented before the v1.0 Release.

Sure will check that. Currently I am not using uploaded version. My local one is newer, but does not ready yet. Thank you for pointing ;)

Ok, before the confusion makes my head explode ...
Does this replace or compliment the LibRange and RangeFadingSquared addons?
  • #2
    Hey,

Yes. This addon is replacement for the LibRange+RangeFadingSquared. Unfortunately I didn't find the range values option in the RangeFadingSquared addon, so I desided myself to create a separate project for that feature. It is also demonstrates RVAPI_Range speed and usability.

Currently me and Philosound trying to make the most powerful algorithms to retrieve map distances information. You can follow us by http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=328273 topic.

As I said before, I am a bit confused.
I see that this addon adds range to target to squared, but does it also provide fading akin to RangeFadingSquared?
And if so, does this also require us to disable "Ranged/LoS Fade" in Squared as RangeFadingSquared does? Or does it hook/replace those functions in squared automatically?
  • #6
Oh I got you now. No it does not provide fading.
The thing is, I thought the RangeFadingSquared addon should show distances as well, but I didnt find anything about that. Shame on me. Looks like it does not mean to show that information at all! :D

Oh well... Currently I can't promise the fading feature. I have to contact with Philosound and discuss the subject, since I don't realy like to clone ideas. On other side it is not a good idea to keep two different API's doing the same thing. I mean to keep RVAPI_Range and LibRange turned ON. Will see what we can do.

Btw how usefull this fading feature?
  • #11
It is very good at letting you know a target is not able to be direct healed, but not very good at differentiating between LoS or Range being the cause of the fade on the display.

There is also an issue of it not allowing you to select a target that is out of range, which can be frustrating at times.
  • #12
Actually, the fading occurs on simple-hard-fact-range-value. Only the border is influenced by LOS.
Targets cannot be targeted when they´re distant, which is 300.
  • #13
This is correct, had to test it myself to check. Still, the border is often too small of an area to signify something as important as LoS ... wish I could have change texture or bar/text color as an option for when a target is out of LoS.
