About Shinies

Shinies - a replacement for the ingame auction house UI.

General Information

Shinies currently offers all of the features available of the current Auction House, in addition to the following:

  • Ability to save searches so they can be easily and quickly executed in the future
  • Expanded search criteria to include ALL of the possible criteria available. (This may include some options that are not currently in the game, but are available in the data files.)
  • Ability to create multiple auctions at once of a single item.
  • Ability to save Fixed Price item information. (Saved individually based on faction/realm.)
  • Auto pricing on items based upon current market conditions. (1 brass undercut)
  • Summary window for all of your current auctions.

Beta Notes

  • As Shinies is still in beta, there can and will be bugs. While it may not be visible from using the addon, but under the hood the addon is pretty complex and at times the unexpected can happen. Please be gentle should Shinies be responsible for your dog being run over, or an item not being sold for the proper price.
  • While in beta the regular Auction House window will continue to be displayed when you right click the Auctioneer, in addition to the Shinies dialog being displayed.

Mythic Bug Notes

NOTE: There are currently a few bugs in the Mythic client in regards to auction house results. The number of results posted in the chat window, will NOT match the results listed by Shinies in all cases. Shinies is displaying the results that are made available to it, not the results the chat window post was made from.

    I realise the mod may not be developed any more but if it is a good option for future release would be the ability to automatically buy certain items below a certain price, like the Auto tab but for buying not selling.

    Would it be possible to make this addon take stuff out of your backpack from the top of your bag than the bottom?. For example if i keep the liniments for my character at the bottom of my bag and the ones i wish to sell at the top it would be nice to not have to drag the liniments from the top back to the bottom after the placing of Auctions is finished as it took them from the bottom of my bag first.

    IS there a way to make Auction window smaller, backback and auction window are overlapping. I've tried the normal layout screen but doesn t give me an option to reduce size. For either backpack or Auctions. Jay

    If you are using version 0.9.3-beta or later, on the Config tab, under General, there is an option to change the UI scale. This will allow you to rescale the size of the Shinies interface.

    Can you add a way to search for crafting stuff, like apothecary main ingredients, secondary ingredients and vials?

    Great mod so far.

    Found what I think is a bug though - when I try to post multiple stacks, it will post most of them but then stop and I have to tell it to post again. Eg, 20 stacks of 2 will post about 14 stacks and then stop.

    Also, is there a way to change the undercut value? Or a config command/gui?

    Appreciate that this is a work in progress and relatively new but really looks like this could be promising. Keep up the good work.

    Whenever Shinies hits anything that can cause uncertainty it will stop doing pretty much everything its doing so that is probably what you are seeing. To help diagnose what it could be seeing if you could enter the following into the chat window.
    /script SDT()

    This will toggle debugging display in Shinies. You can then use /debug to see if Shinies outputs any error state information when it stops. If you could screenshot or ticket any information Shinies posts that would be helpful. Also, if you can let me know of anything else going on at the time it stops it would be helpful. Moving items to/from bank/bags/etc? Using MiracleGrow or Motion or Mass Refine (or any other addon that changes yours inventory)

    As of 0.8.2 the only way to change the undercut value is to change the addon code itself. The next major beta release will provide a GUI to give a fully customizable pricing system. I would expect the next release to be out in 3-5 days or so.

    found a bug: i try to sell 50 Pristine Arboreal Resin and it put at the higher price and not at the lower..

    Just pushed out 0.8.1 that addresses the pricing on items that can not be sold to vendors.

    Yes, any item that does not sell to vendors is currently having this issue. Small fix will be out some time today for this.
