About AMFG Lazy Symbiosis Announce
Howdy!
This addon will monitor for Symbiosis casts by the druid and do one or both of the following:
- Announce in Party/Raid/BG chat (depending on where you are) the target of the Symbiosis as well as the abilities gained by both the target and caster (on by default).
- Announce to your target via whisper the ability they gain from Symbiosis (off by default).
You can also check the result of casting Symbiosis on your current target before you cast it by targeting a unit in your party and typing /ls. This will only work for units currently in your party and will not announce it to party/raid but rather your default chat frame (only you can see the result).
The options for target (party or whisper) are available in the default WoW interface panel (Interface -> Addons -> Lazy Symbiosis Cast)

Same problem here. I'm getting spammed by this error every few seconds immediately after logging in.
Does this work in announcing druids in your party casting symbio (but not you?) The reason this would be helpful is, you can have use for this addon even if you're not a druid and thus will not have to create separate Addon COntrol Panel profiles for non druid toons.
It does NOT work that way, it only works for the casting druid if they have this addon installed. While I could possibly have the addon announce ANY TIME a druid in the party casts symbiosis, it wouldn't be as reliable and I would need to build a bit of logic/checking into the addon to make sure multiple people with the addon aren't spamming the chat. It's more involved than the spirit of the addon allows.
The addon is very small and shouldn't cause any issues if the currently logged in player isn't a druid - it simply won't do anything - so there shouldn't be any need to disable it when you are playing non-druid toons (I don't).
I've only recently noticed that when I (a feral druid) cast Symbiosis on a healing priest the whisper that is sent tells them they gain Entangling Roots, however they actually obtain Cyclone. I've personally gone into the LuA and fixed it for myself. But thought you might like to know about this small "bug"

According to http://www.wowhead.com/spell=110309/symbiosis Feral druids gain Feral Spirit from Shamans and resto shaman gain Prowl - is this not correct? Is the addon showing something different? The code looks to be correct.
Testing in game confirms that Restoration Shaman do indeed get prowl, which the addon states is correct, I'm not sure exactly where the issue lies.

Just pushed out a new version that should hopefully fix the issues with the new chat channels. Please let me know if you see anything not working correctly.
One of my favorite addon crashing, it's interesting that Curse client reports 5.05.25 and swatter is saying v5.01.25, also, I noticed that battleground chat is no longer called "battleground" is shows up as "instance." Any other info you need let me know.

with p5.1 they changed the grp chat, so now i just been in a looking for raid grp and with the new changes to the chat now /i and not /ra or /p
So now when i used Symbiosis it says "You are not in a raid group"
