- Ever lost track of the dozen conversations you were having simultaniously?
- Ever found out you missed important tells that you got mid fight?
- Ever wanted to know what person X was saying to you an hour ago?
Then Whisp is just the thing for you!
Whisp keeps track of your recent conversations and displays them in a pane above the chatbox when you reply. Whisp also comes with an LibDataBroker (LDB) plugin that allows you to quickly review all current conversations.
Broker commands:
- Left-click icon - whisper last sender
- Right-click icon - open configuration options
- Click name - whisper that person
- Shift-click name - delete that person and their history
- Ctrl-click name - open chat history frame
Installation:
- Unzip the file into your 'Interface/Addons' folder.
Features:
- Automatic popup pane that shows your current conversation
- This pane is fully customizable
- LDB plugin to quickly review all recent conversations
- One-click system to reply to recent conversations
- Full history of each conversation can be reviewed / copied in a separate log window
- Conversations can be saved cross-character on the same realm
- Chatter support for appearance settings and some formatting
- Remembers # of whispers missed per person
Use:
- The conversation pane will automatically show when you reply to someone
- You can set the options of the pane and the addon by rightclicking the pane or the Broker/Minimap icon
- Alternatively use "/whisp" to open the options screen
- If you have alot of whispers you can set a max height for the tooltip in the options and then it will be scrollable.

Love this add on!
Have been using it for a couple of weeks now - very useful and no problems to report thus far.
Is there any way the reply editbox could appear at the top of the chat frame? Or be adjustable in some way?
I'm using Prat and I moved the default chat frame to the very bottom of screen and the editbox to the top of the chat frame. Unfortunately, Whisp doesn't follow the editbox setting - the whisper reply editbox opens at the bottom which in my case is below my visible screen edge. I must go back to WIM because of this, since I cannot change whole UI just for one addon ;(
The edit box and the chat history box are both adjustable. And you should be able to adjust the editbox with prat anyway.
Hello, the addon works perfect with normal friends-list or randoms but won't recall any conversation with anybody on my realID? i love this mod so any suggestions would be appreciated.
I would love to see RealID support for this as well if possible. I'm sure it is.
As below the only way I can have realid support is to remember it by character name otherwise convos are lost if/when the realid changes (which is seemingly random) ie Morgalm sends a realid whisper from REALIDNAME but it is shown and saved as coming from Morgalm now.
Just tried out the latest version again to see if the problem with the disappearing history box was still happening and it is. The issue that I can see is that it's assigning the history to a character name and when you reply to the real ID name it is no longer associated to it anymore. But if you go back to the actual history you can see it under that character name.
Hope that makes a bit of sense to you. I tried to do the bug submit via curse client just so you could get a recap of all the mods I'm using, but you apparently have that turned off.
Anyways, going back to the 0701 build where the history box still works.
Coloured names still work but this addon no longer remembers my convos for any body, real ID or not
It is working for realID friends I just had to change the way it works. There is no way to "remember" realid friends between sessions (their ID may or may not change with each logon) Therefore I had to change so realID whispers are saved under the character name instead of the realid name. Otherwise they would always be forgotten between sessions.
My popup works fine what is broken? What are your settings?
Here's a suggestion:
- Stop categorizing whispers by the server your character is on, and instead store all whispers with "Charname-Servername". For example, I play on multiple servers, with BNet friends on all of them. Plus, there's the new cross-server invite of BNet friends, plus normal whispers. Hence, merge whispers to Char1 (while playing on server A) with Char1-A (while playing on server B)
- For the current session, also log whispers by presenceID (for the popup)
- And when a BNet whispers occurs, associate that presenceID with the character name (again only for this session, though if saved, this could be used to identify alts of BNet friends..) to merge conversations for the popup.
Until Blizz finally makes presenceIDs consistent, of course.
