Can you update the CreateFrame call for the arrow with a frame name? I use a mod to collect the buttons from the minimap but can't add an exclusion for frames without names.

    Line 1102 - Build 1.7b6:
local arrow = CreateFrame("Frame", "ArchyArrow", poi)
  • #370
Which addon are you using that collects the buttons?

is there a /toggle command to show and hide the interface that im not seeing?
  • #345
Could you put the default position to the center maybe. It's coming up way too high in the top left corner of my UI. Trying to figure out how to move it now.

I’m not too fond of the latest changes that make Archy look more like Minimal Archaeology. I picked Archy as my Archeology add-on because of it’s simple minimalistic display. Alas, Archy is my favorite Archeology addon by a long shot and I’ll try to make it work out. I’d like to see some options added to customize the display to make it feel more like home:

    General Options:
    - Font selection would be great (with SharedMedia Support); I believe Archy had this before, but now it’s gone.
    - Settings (font size, scale, etc.) for tooltips when hovering over elements of the display (such as digsite zone, item icon in artifacts list, etc.).
    - "Show Archaeology Skill" option from general should be inside Artifacts' General pane.

    Artifacts Display:
    - Add Set Row height
    - Add Set Bar background image (with SharedMedia Support)
    - Add Set vertical row spacing
    - Add Set horizontal row spacing
    - Remove the +/- button; place into interface config instead
    - Add Set background image w/ standard options
    - Add Set border image w/ standard options
    - Option for keystone font size
    - Tooltip for the bar ("Number of fragments needed to...") is kind of useless and annoying.

    Dig Sites Display:
    - Remove the +/- button; place into interface config instead
    - Add Set background image w/ standard options
    - Add Set border image w/ standard options
    - Ability to hide the distance (but keep the zone under the digsite -- looks sexy)
    - Ability to hide the shovel icon

    LDB Options:
    - Ability to hide sections (Artifacts, Digsites, hints)
    - Levels of Detail (Minimal, normal, Verbose, etc.) - There are way too many columns with everything showing.
    - Set the LDB's label to something useful. e.g: current skill level, progress on latest dug site, etc.

I also would recommend taking a look at Aranarth's "Ara Broker Reputation":
Ara has the sexiest and cleaniest LDB Tooltips I've ever seen. They don't use QTip and are much nicer looking.

    Keep up the great work!

I'd like to echo this sentiment. I loved the very minimalist list approach, and am not too keen on the now very in-your-face approach to the artifacts list.

Digs sites is less of an issues, as it's easier to reduce the size down, but you can't currently change much of the sizings on the artifact list.

Options to turn off graphics, changing padding on bars etc would be excellent. Or a toggle between old/new stylings.

Thanks for the add on though, it is great.

After a well deserved nap ...

I agree with the above especially the LDB and border setting for the artifacts & digsites display... Previously I like that there was no 'border' to the text, made it fit my layout nicely... now I am cheating with opacity but having none or rounded borders would be nice (both are standard options).

Thank you so much for your work on this btw! It's a great bit of help!

Thanks for the feedback. I'll read over this sometime later this morning (after I get some sleep).

-- Fix for surveyNodes error in line 2082: adding this to Archy:OnInitialize() in after line 2565:

    v1.7b6 should fix this problem.

Thanks, but which is line 2565? I'm using notepad to edit and short of counting the lines myself can't be sure where to put it. :)

Was hoping that the beta 1.7b5 release had a fix for the panels being locked in place, but was sadly mistaken. This new version is a total step back. I just reverted back to 1.6.3 because the newest version is completely unusable.

    1. The new version takes up WAY too much space, with too much extra unnecessary crap in them.
    2. Users really don't care what other sites are open on other continents - hovering over the Archy image in Fubar resulted in a list that spanned the height of my screen, and then continued off the bottom of the screen. I don't know if JUST the current continent was default on the old version or if you have to manually change it on the new version, but after seeing the changes I wasn't inclined into looking into the options to attempt to fix it.
    3. No need to integrate the distance finder into one of the windows, making that window required to use the addon.
    4. The text is too large on absolutely everything.

I tried all the other archaeology addons, and this one was the best because it didn't have extra unnecessary crap which used up a ton of memory. It had very little memory usage. I suggest making it so the minimalistic display is the default, and add the option for users to use the newer version.

Have you actually checked out the options that is in Archy? Obviously not.

Take some time and look through the Options available in the Interface Options panel for Archy before jumping to conclusions.

Perhaps it might be an idea to branch the 1.6.3 version into a new addon (ie a Minimalistic version) and fix the bug where you can't move the frames - that would absolutely perfect. Its easily the most useful addon I have right now due to grinding for my Vial of the Sands Recipe and trinket.

I'm sorry to say that even trying out all the new the settings on 1.7b.6 it didn't impress me the way 1.6.3 did.
