    disable tooltip

Is there a way to completly disable the tooltip on the minimap icon? I like the icon but the tooltip is just anoying. I even reduced the size to the minimum but it still not useful at all (for me). Thanks in advance.

  • #1620

I am experiencing a problem whereby the tooltip (which is toggled ON in preferences; I checked) stops showing. I think this is happening after I change zones via teleport.

Once this disappearance occurs, whenever I mouseover the minimap button (as to invoke the tooltip) there is a momentary freeze of all action (as if the tooltip is trying to render), but then nothing shows up. Definitely a bug (or possibly a conflict with another addon).

Another issue, is with Tomtom support toggled ON, I get an error message asking me if I want to disable Tomtom's automatic waypoint setting or ignore the issue. Once ignore is clicked the warning no longer appears.

I wonder if the two issues here related are linked?

Please look into it. I like this addon very much, but I will discontinue using it if in order to restore the tooltip I have to continually relog (the only means I have found to be effective).

Make sure you have "show lua errors" enabled in Game options -> Help or a bug catching addon installed (at least when you're trying to troubleshoot addon problems).

For your first issue the only thing that comes to mind is if crossing a loading screen while in combat (be it portal/reload or login).

In WoW 5.x Blizzard has imposed a time limit on lua scripts (and that includes addons) during combat.

No one knows what that limit is exactly so you might be hitting that.

As for your second issue, the warning is exactly what it says. TomTom's automatic quest waypoints breaks the map in a very subtle way (this in turn breaks Archy or any other addons that might rely on the same map functionality).

The conditions for this problem are very specific so I've given the users the option to ignore the warning at their own risk (for some, the problem won't manifest itself and they can happily continue to use both addons with TomTom's automatic questpoint navigation in place - until they happen to hit a zone change where there is actually a quest they're tracking at which point Archy will break)

Hopefully if Archy breaks due to the incompatibility they'll have some idea what to change to make it working again. Since you're probably ignoring the warning there's a good chance your first issue is indeed related to the second.

Finally while addon authors generally make every effort to fix bugs and keep their addons running this is a hobby endeavor on the side of work/family/school/play, whether you discontinue using the addon or not is largely indifferent to me and I say this with no hint of hostility, it is as it is Smile

This is what I am getting (Tomtom support now off):

    Hope this is helpful,

    Driizt: Filed as ticket 442

Please visit the ticket to add some more information in the comments.

Error is partial (Archy version doesn't show), it would also help if we knew language of the wow client and OS details (windows or MacOS, 32 or 64bit)

Not a bad add-on but it the shovels no longer show up on my world map. Is that fixable? I've tried everything. I like being able to mouse over and checking to see if the digsite is the faction I need.

Go into Archy options, General section and check "Manual Tracking".

Then Archy will not automate digsite tracking. The default is to track when shown and untrack when hidden.

  • #1618

Make sure "Show Digsites" is checked off at the bottom of your world map - it became unchecked for me when I installed Archy, and I had to reactivate it.

Sounds like it also might have been the problem that Fenixdown was having last week.

  • #1611

So i was just wondering if there was a way i can see the dig sites on my mini map. If anyone knows how to fix this I'd greatly apreciate it. Thank you

  • #1613

Digsites on minimap are provided by the game since a few patches.

You can either manually track them from the minimap tracking menu, if you have selected the option in Archy to "manually track", or Archy will toggle tracking automatically depending on its enabled/disabled state.

I installed it and it took away Track Digsites every time I turned its panel off. I hated this so I went option hunting, told it to let me manage track digsites myself. Didn't do anything, unless I had the HUGE archy screen up the digsites wouldn't track. So I uninstalled it, and now my digsites don't work anymore at all. Clicking track digsites doesn't show anything, I can't see my digsites at all anymore. Not sure if ill have to reinstall wow now or what, but i wont be touching this addon with a 10 foot pole ever again.

  • #1609

An addon that can untrack your digsites while uninstalled. Must be some really powerful mojo there.

Seriously though don't go reinstalling wow that's both overkill and has nothing to do with your issue.

Problem is your attitude doesn't put me in a helping mood at all (other than prevent you losing even more of your time that is, as that would be just cruel)

I loved this addon until I noticed that my archy is over 500 and it's still pointing me to digsites in kalimdor and eastern kingdoms.  I am trying to do the archy dailies in Pandaria, and it's absolutely no help there because it's still refering me to low level dig sites.  Not sure why this is, are there no pandaria digsites in this addon?

  • #1610

The archaeology level required to survey in Pandaria is above 500 (not exactly sure how much higher as I was 525 when I crossed).

Since until you reach it you cannot even see the digsites on the map, Archy can't discover them to point you their way.

Issue will fix itself as you skill up a bit more. (You can try without Archy you won't get better results if still at 500)
