Is there a way to make Carbonite addon considered as "Tom Tom support can stay turned on"? Carbonite takes the TomTom arrow information sent by Archy and displays it with it's own arrow and path. The only problem is that on login Archy checks if there is TomTom enabled and turns off the TomTom support since Carbonite is not exactly TomTom.

Edit: Some punctuation missing in this post.

I'll take a look although I'm reluctant to expand the support for 3rd party addons; it tends to overcomplicate debugging problems when you need to check the interactions of (a) to (b) to (c) to ... where a bug in any of those can potentially break the others.

Is there any way to just hide the tooltip when mousing over the minimap icon? It is VERY annoying to have that huge window pop up just because the mouse got too close to it especially during combat.  All the info I need is in the info windows. basically I'd just like the minimap icon to just toggle the addon on and off.

    Absolutely love the addon! Thanks!

Forgive the roundabout way I'll answer your question/request.

Afaik the tooltip only shows out of combat.

I believe most LDB displays (like Fortress, Chocolate, Titan Panel etc) have options for controlling the tooltip on their own. If you have one of those you could turn the minimap icon off completely from Archy options and control the tooltip from your LDB display addon.

If you don't have or want an LDB display you can still hide the minimap button from Archy options and set / use a keybind to toggle Archy with a keypress.

You can find keybinds for Archy at Game Menu (Esc) -> Key bindings.

Just bind something to "Toggle Archy" and hide the minimap icon if you're only using it as a toggle.

That said I'll look at adding an option (tooltip visible by default as I think that's the most common usage) but is a low priority item.

Is there anywhere in this very nice addon, where you can see what rare items you have discovered on a char?

With all my alts, I'm losing track of who has discovered what.

Some sort of list showing rare items discovered vs. rare items available would be just awesome :)

  • #1349

There's a tooltip mode available in the latest release that contains statistics of rares, commons solved vs available (as a number) for each race.

You can "drill down" into a race to see what specific rares haven't been discovered yet.

You can see the tooltip at Archy's screenshots above (5th image)

To switch to the overall progress tooltip just click the Archy* header on the tooltip itself.

    Looks great :)

I'll see if I can find that information in Archy when I get home.

Referring back to my issue with "Show Digsite" toggle on the World Map becoming repeatedly un-toggled, I've tried as you suggested:

If you want to keep the digsite blobs visible but Archy's onscreen lists hidden use Shift+Left Click on minimap icon / LDB

The above makes no difference ... When I open the World Map I ALWAYS have to toggle the "Show Digsite" in order to see the digsites ... every time. I cannot believe this is "by design". It's annoying to have to coninually toggle this ON every time I want to go to a new digsite and am looking for the location in my World Map.

I also have this issue, and it's driving me crazy! It's made it so that I end up keeping archy toggled off most of the time to avoid having to continually toggle on the minimap and regular map digsite blobs.

    Please, fix this!

  • #1362

I was having this problem also.  The shift click seems to work, the option to turn it off would be nice.  Great add on otherwise!

  • #1377

But I have to manually turn on digsite blobs every time I log into the game - do you have this issue too? I don't mind the shift clicking otherwise, but if I forget to do this right when I log in, I might accidentally fly right past a dig site if I'm not actively doing archaeology.

I'm not at my PC to test this currently (will do shortly and edit this) but...

can you follow these steps for me:
    1. Show the Archy onscreen lists normally, that is both the digsite and artifact windows are visible on your screen.

Are the digsite blobs visible on the map? Yes? Good. (No? Bug I need to look at)

    2. Now instead of clicking the LDB/Minimap icon to disable Archy (and thus hide the lists) shift+click them instead or type /archy stealth.

This should hide the onscreen lists (which I'm guessing is what you want to do while flying / moving to next digsite or whatever) but keep Archy active in the background and the digsite blobs visible.

If that's what you're doing but it's not working I'll look at it.

Edit: I just checked it and it works exactly as I described BUT as it might be confusing for some users I'll put an option in next version to disable automation and let you control digsite visibility manually.

Until then showing Archy lists first (simple click) and then hiding them with shift-click will keep Archy active in the background and the digsites showing like I said.

Edit2: Added an option to disable automation in v1.8.13.
