So i was just wondering if there was a way i can see the dig sites on my mini map. If anyone knows how to fix this I'd greatly apreciate it. Thank you

  • #1613

Digsites on minimap are provided by the game since a few patches.

You can either manually track them from the minimap tracking menu, if you have selected the option in Archy to "manually track", or Archy will toggle tracking automatically depending on its enabled/disabled state.

I installed it and it took away Track Digsites every time I turned its panel off. I hated this so I went option hunting, told it to let me manage track digsites myself. Didn't do anything, unless I had the HUGE archy screen up the digsites wouldn't track. So I uninstalled it, and now my digsites don't work anymore at all. Clicking track digsites doesn't show anything, I can't see my digsites at all anymore. Not sure if ill have to reinstall wow now or what, but i wont be touching this addon with a 10 foot pole ever again.

  • #1609

An addon that can untrack your digsites while uninstalled. Must be some really powerful mojo there.

Seriously though don't go reinstalling wow that's both overkill and has nothing to do with your issue.

Problem is your attitude doesn't put me in a helping mood at all (other than prevent you losing even more of your time that is, as that would be just cruel)

    LOL

I loved this addon until I noticed that my archy is over 500 and it's still pointing me to digsites in kalimdor and eastern kingdoms.  I am trying to do the archy dailies in Pandaria, and it's absolutely no help there because it's still refering me to low level dig sites.  Not sure why this is, are there no pandaria digsites in this addon?

  • #1610

The archaeology level required to survey in Pandaria is above 500 (not exactly sure how much higher as I was 525 when I crossed).

Since until you reach it you cannot even see the digsites on the map, Archy can't discover them to point you their way.

Issue will fix itself as you skill up a bit more. (You can try without Archy you won't get better results if still at 500)

Why I cant see these little windows which show me how much artifacts I need to complete them?

MiniMap button control - Archy - Archaeology Assistant

Is there a way to control how the MiniMap button acts as a HotSpot for Archy?   By default, it pops up a summary of your artifacts and dig sites along with how to access features.

I don't always want it to pop-up like that.  If I'm going to a differnt MiniMap button that just happens to be slightly below Archy, I have to move the pointer and wait for the hotspot ToolTip to disapear.  This can be an exercise in frustration when several MiniMap buttons are close together.

I'd like to disable Arch's Hotspot, so I can get to other items, like Fishing Buddy, outfitter, and others...

i have the same request. the popup tooltip is really obtrusive especially when i'm trying to click another minimap button and mouseover the archy one by mistake. i dont want to disable the minimap button because it offers a lot of convenience to open the windows with a click, but the tooltip popup is annoying. maybe a right click for what currently opens on mouseover? other than that one issue, i really love the addon and reccomend it to anyone looking for a good archaeology tool.

  • #1597

There is no option but you can get one of the myriad LDB displays and disable the minimap button altogether.

Most of the LDB data displays will let you have full control over your tooltips and buttons.

There's a good chance you have some kind of LDB panel already :-)

That said the request to provide an option for disabling or shrinking the minimap tooltip comes up often so I'll see what I can do in a new version.

There is some seriously bad lag in the latest version (1.8.37a) when you have filtering by continent turned off.  Every time I get some fragments (either via digging or from buying old world crates from Brann Bronzebeard), my game freezes for 5-10 seconds each time I pick them up/open the crate.  It also freezes like this when solving artifacts.

Tested with both options ticked off (Artifacts options and Tooltip options)

I cannot reproduce the issue, I don't lose FPS at all when digging and looting fragments or when using the crate button to crate an artifact (can't test the pre-mop crate vendor yet)

So if you please file a ticket and provide some more information, specifically:

    - continent and zone (does it happen in specific areas or everywhere)?

    - WoW language eg. English/French/Italian etc (very important) and OS (Windows or Mac, 32/64bit)

    - if you have an error catching addon or "show lua errors" enabled from game options -> help.

    - a list of your other addons, especially if you have any related to looting (or archaeology).

    - any other information you think might help me reproduce it.

The more details the better as if I can't make it happen I can only try to fix it by guessing and that seldom turns out well Tongue out

  • #1593

Will test that tomorrow, I have filtering on myself so haven't noticed.

If it's reproducible I doubt it appeared in 1.8.37a as nothing has changed for that part of the addon since first MoP updates.

Does that concern the Artifacts or the Tooltip setting btw?

Woops, sorry, it was about the Artifacts frame... I forgot there was an option for that for the tooltip as well.

I turn the continent filtering off on the frame when I buy crates from Brann so that I can solve the old world artifacts from the frame button while I am in Pandaria and sometimes I'm lazy and just leave the window like that when I'm also digging.  So far I have only noticed it in Pandaria because I haven't been back to the old world in a long time, but I did have it happen in Krasarang, Dread Wastes, Jade Forest (digging for all 3 of those) and in Vale (buying pre-MoP crates), so it didn't seem to be location specific... at least not out in Pandaria anyway.

I don't have any other archaeology or looting specific addons, and I haven't had any problems like this until the most recent update.  I will try and do some more testing tomorrow and see if I can narrow it down any further.
