AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- configurable bars per row
- configurable width
- separate keybindings for bag, keyring and bank viewing
Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use
See ReadMe.txt and VersionHistory.txt for further details
Beta Versions:
ensure you make a backup copy of your saved variables file before installing a beta version - you normally cannot revert back to the release version without that backup. your saved variable file is normally located in World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
if you have the curse client set to download beta versions then it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file - do not complain if you lose them or they get screwed up because you installed a beta version, its what beta versions tend to do.
a simple way to back it up is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of AI is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-3-01-09.lua

Would it be possible to add [sort] 'by Equipment Set' ?
Another addon, AdiBags, manages to do this.
Thanks in advance, great addon!
How do you reset the money for the addon.. it keeps the list of old guilds and toons that i use to have (deleted ones) i was woundering if there is a way to remove them or reset the money part to the addon.. its used with bozooka not sure if its that addon or arkinventory addon
open your bag, then click on your character icon on the top right hand corner and scoll to the character you want to delete then it willl show that option. and for the guild bank open your guild bank tab by the location and do the same to delete.
Hi.
I cant fingure out how to see the guildbank history, i.e. who withdraws what. I didn't matter before but since I am now a mojor in my guild i need to be able to see this. Hope you can help me and THX for an awesome addon that i have used for the last 4 years
/hug Amarula of Dragonmaw EU
you should be able to right click on the bank tab and select the option.
A little while I ago I posted an idea to add an option to the search UI to list BOA items.
Maybe this is not a popular idea to you, I also noticed that when the search field is blank, the items are sorted alphabetically. How difficult would it be to sort them by quality level? Heritage > Epic > Blue > green > white > gray...
This is already possible bags and banks. adding it to the search ui would be great, cause then I could see all my BOAs right at the top.
the idea is fine, i just need a simple way to implement it that doesnt use masses of cpu every time you want to use a rule function in there.
i was thinking of using an = sign at the end to indicate that its a rule formula instead of plain text, that way nothing would get processed until the last character.
i just dont have a lot of time right now to implement it.
Also, "Simple Grinder" should be included in the PT "Tradeskill.Tool"?
I don't know how well you control these tables though..
check for the periodictable addon/library, on this site i think, they have control over what is and isnt in the groups. its possible mine is out of date but you can install peridictable by itself to ensure that it stays up to date from the authors.
I'm also getting an error when trying to switch out my glyphs. I only have the screenshot of the situation, no more info I'm afraid.
http://melwil.net/lulz/arkinventory.error.jpg
pt( "Tradeskill.Mat.ByProfession.Enchanting" )
This PT does not include "Small Dream Shard"? The same rule works for other enchanting mats, at least the cataclysm ones.
Also, that PT includes Volatiles, any good way to exclude those? Good way meaning another category for example, I have already excluded them by name.
standard lua logic rules, use not xxx to reverse whatever xxx is, eg;
equip( ) and not sb( )
Thanks, I had a DUH moment when I read this lol.
A minor Request:
I play a rogue and was thinking it would be handy to have a button on the Inventory Window for lock picking.
TIA
