when posting a comment about an error do not include the list of addons, just the actual error and trace is fine.

AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".

AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.

You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.

Overview:

  • unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
  • assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
  • assign categories to the bar of your choice
  • configurable bars per row
  • configurable width
  • separate keybindings for bag, keyring and bank viewing

Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use

See ReadMe.txt and VersionHistory.txt for further details

Beta Versions:

ensure you make a backup copy of your saved variables file before installing a beta version - you normally cannot revert back to the release version without that backup. your saved variable file is normally located in World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua

if you have the curse client set to download beta versions then it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file - do not complain if you lose them or they get screwed up because you installed a beta version, its what beta versions tend to do.

a simple way to back it up is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of AI is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-3-01-09.lua

My rules for outfitter are broken. When I try to access the rules option. I get rules module is not loaded. How do I get the rules module to load? I looked at this to see how to setup rules http://code.google.com/p/arkinventory/wiki/RuleFunction but that does not tell me how to load the rules module.

Thanks for any help. I using the v3.08.63

before you enter the realm click on addons, make sure arkinventory rules is enabled or rules wont work.
  • #3212
When ever I try to open ArkInventory I always get this:

Bag data has become corrupted and will be erased, please visit the Bag again to update its data
ArkInventory: Saved bag data for Naus has been erased

I've gone into my WTF folder and deleted the saved variables from it and then tried again but to no anvil. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  • #3216
should be fixed next release, i took out that code.
  • #3211
Whenever I log in now (since about the 4.0 patch and ArkInventory update) I get messages like this:
"ArkInventory: Loading Translations for enUS: Attempt 1 of 5".
It usually takes about 3 attempts for it to load. Because if this, my rules and bars are not loaded till the translations are loaded.

    Using version 3.02.63
  • #3215
thats normal, ai gets text from within the game but it can take a couple of passes for the server to respond. you can disable the messages in the config.
  • #3207
I noticed that if I open my bag (in 3.02.63-nolib), and use an item like "Iron Boot Flask" or "Gnomeregan Pride", it won't show the "grey clock" cooldown or the OmniCC timer overlay. I have to close the bag and open it again for them to show.

Cooldown has "Show" enabled, and "Update on GCD" and "Refresh in combat" disabled.

Do I need to enable/disable something for it to show the OmniCC timer without having to close/open my bags?
  • #3208
you probably need to enable "update on gcd" to have them show asap
  • #3209
Checking "Update on GCD" for my bag doesn't fix it. I'll use Iron Boot Flask, and the OmniCC overlay cooldown doesn't show up on it *until* I close my bag and reopen it.
  • #3214
found a bug in the code, should be fixed next release
  • #3223
Thanks. The GCD option appears to work now for .64. So, I now have another question :

If I have "Show cooldowns" enabled and "Update on GCD" enabled, a cooldown overlay won't show immediately on an item in my bag if my bag is open? There has to be some sort of other external action for it to show? I saw that the bag update timer is set to 0.5 seconds by default. So, if I click on something in my bag that has a cooldown, shouldn't I see a cooldown overlay 0.5 seconds after clicking it?
  • #3204
I love this addon and cant live without it now, but i'll stick with .58 until all the bugs are exterminated.
  • #3202
I'm using 3.02.63-nolib. If I fully populate AI with a character's bag/bank/gbank data, close AI, then open my bag and toggle on all locations, some locations' windows aren't stacking fully in front of the previous location.

For example, if I go down the list and toggle on Keyring, then Bank, the Bank window is fully in front of the keyring. However, if I then toggle on Gbank, it partly appears both behind and in front of the Bank. If I close Gbank, then toggle it back on, it appears fully in front of Bank.

This happens with Gbank, Wearing, and Mount for me (toggling them on makes them appear partly behind and partly in front of the previous location's window). Toggling them off then on gets them to appear fully in front of the previous window.

My frame strata in AI is set to "HIGH".
  • #3205
seems that blizzard have changed something and frames dont overlap properly - as i havent changed a single piece of that code. i noticed it in the cata beta but its still happening
  • #3201
I'm not getting an actual error, but I am having a strange issue. When I open my guild bank I can't see any tooltips nor can I withdraw anything. It was fine and then suddenly it wasn't.
