AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".

AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.

You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.

Overview:

  • unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
  • assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
  • assign categories to the bar of your choice
  • configurable bars per row
  • configurable width
  • separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing

Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use

See ReadMe.txt and VersionHistory.txt for further details

Beta Versions:

ensure you make a backup copy of your saved variables file before installing a beta version - you normally cannot revert back to the release version without that backup. your saved variable file is normally located in World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua

if you have the curse client set to download beta versions then it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file - do not complain if you lose them or they get screwed up because you installed a beta version, its what beta versions tend to do.

a simple way to back it up is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of AI or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-3-01-09.lua, or ArkInventory-2013-12-28.lua

it always adds one extra row in setup mode so that you can move items onto those bars.

if yours has "too many" rows then you have categories assigned to the bars under that top row, you just dont see them when youre not in edit mode because you dont have any items from those categories.

completely agree w/ what chocobochicken said!
great job on an addon i won't play wow w/out! :)
  • #3733
I've been using this for awhile now, but I don't think I've ever fully expressed my appreciation for this add-on. This is a major game-changer for me, and it's the first add-on I've seen truly address the long-standing problems with MMO inventory management that have otherwise remained stagnant throughout the industry over the last decade. Well done, and thanks for updating!
  • #3727
Pretty please update Arkinventory - nothing else compares!

    Thanks!
  • #3725
Broken in 4.2 any ETA on an update?
  • #3732
probably in about 8 hours. i need to get home from work, patch, then update the mod, then upload it.
  • #3728
If you want it to stop spamming you about the keychain, in ArkInventory.lua change line 1467 from true to false, and comment out (using --) lines 1841 and 1842.
  • #3726
It's working for me in 4.2, though it will eventually need an update now that there is no longer a keyring.
  • #3724
How can i reset it? to reset all profiles and etc..cause when im on an item is says that i have more item of those to another char that i have deleted him
  • #3731
Log in, open your bag, go to the switch character menu (top right corner), mousevoer the character you want to delete and in the menu that opened, press delete
  • #3723
for some reason, the money log on the guild bank wont show the gains from the "Cashflow" perk.... everything else is displayed, but to see those lines i have to deactivate the addon....
  • #3721
    Best Addon ever!
Thanks a lot for all your work!
  • #3719
    Good question here guys!

How can I filter in one Bar only items associated to some equipment set ?

    Ty!
  • #3729
    Create a rule containing :
outfit() which will include all outfit items
or outfit( "SetName" ) where SetName is... the name of the set to filter :P
  • #3718
I have issue with not being able to right item to move them from the guild bank to my bag. Some times it will work but exssively slow. Then other times it just does not work at all
