when posting a comment about an error do not include the list of addons, just the actual error and trace is fine.

AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".

AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.

You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.

  • unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
  • assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
  • assign categories to the bar of your choice
  • configurable bars per row
  • configurable width
  • separate keybindings for bag, keyring and bank viewing

Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use

See ReadMe.txt and VersionHistory.txt for further details

Beta Versions:

ensure you make a backup copy of your saved variables file before installing a beta version - you normally cannot revert back to the release version without that backup. your saved variable file is normally located in World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua

if you have the curse client set to download beta versions then it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file - do not complain if you lose them or they get screwed up because you installed a beta version, its what beta versions tend to do.

a simple way to back it up is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of AI is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-3-01-09.lua

i've had the "blacked out" issue here n there, what i found was if a /reloadui didnt fix it, a relog would, sometimes it can take a couple of goes.

What looks like is happening is that some kind of screwyness is going on with the order that addons are loaded and when it goes wonkey its causing adverse issues on ark. It seems to happen more on busy days/periods so maybe connected to latency and response/info coming from the servers since some stuff is stored server side this would likely be the cause.

ok ... 15 /reloadsui and my inventory is still blacked out ... aaaagggghhhh
  • #1274
This addon is pretty ok. I forghot how to hide my Soul Shards. I manage to do it on another server but I moved my char so now my settings are lost.

Besides that, the addon has a pretty anoying bug. The whole inventory get's blacked out. I have been /reloadingui for like ... 6 times and it isn't yet working. Sometimes it works ... sometimes not.

"Best Addon Ever!" I took me a lot of tweaking to get the category layout the way I like, but it was worth it. I love this add-on.

One question: Does anyone know how to create a rule that would all me to make a category of only gray (junk) items?
  • #1277

    It's already a rule.
  • #1272
Sometimes has an issue, and everything will be grayed out. Appears to be a transparency issue. A /reloadui will fix it, but costly. =(
  • #1270
Great addon, been using it for a long time. My character has been renamed, and now the counter for each item, shows everything double. Is there a way to purge the old character-name, so it shows the right amount?
  • #1271
you can probably find it in the WTF folder as a brute-force method =)
  • #1269
I'm having an issue with using the rules function. When I set a rule for an outfitter outfit to show in a virtual bag, it will not show it when I view my saved bank information, unless I first go to the bank and then reload the bank view. Reloading the offline bank view will not show the outfitter outfits in the virtual bags.

My inventory just greyed out as other users have pointed below. Please fix this, this is a critical issue.
  • #1268
As of v3.02.07 Arkinventory already knows about this, and here's how to fix it:

    1) Open your bag and click the Green bag icon.
    2) Click "config".
    3) Scroll down to "Bug Fixes/Workarounds"
    4) Click the "Enabled" box.

If you're actually curious as to what's happening, the author has included an explanation in that same area.
  • #1267
Try /reload. Rebooting computer helps. Sometime I have to reboot a couple times to get things working to normal in general.
  • #1264
is there a way of saving your settings so when you have to delete your WTF you dont lose everything and have to start setting it over and over again?

I tried the profiling thing and it doesnt work.
  • #1262
I turned off guild bank memory. The window doesn't show anything, as expected, but the memory of guild bank items is lingering when I try to search. Is it possible to 'forget' these without needing to edit the stored files (I could do that, just hoping not to... :)

Is there another site that has newer builds of this mod? Running into a few bugs since the new patch. Ark makes playing wow bearable :D
