About ArkInventory

the FAQ is here http://code.google.com/p/arkinventory/wiki/FAQ

the wiki is here http://code.google.com/p/arkinventory/w/list

to see how you need to setup sorting go here http://code.google.com/p/arkinventory/wiki/UserGuide_HowTo_Sorting

to see how to setup rules go here http://code.google.com/p/arkinventory/wiki/RuleFunction

please ensure you have read those before you lodge a ticket at http://code.google.com/p/arkinventory/issues/list

when posting a comment about an error do not include the list of addons, just the actual error and trace is fine.

AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".

AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.

You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.

Overview:

  • unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
  • assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
  • assign categories to the bar of your choice
  • configurable bars per row
  • configurable width
  • separate keybindings for bag, keyring and bank viewing

Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use

See ReadMe.txt and VersionHistory.txt for further details

Beta Versions:

ensure you make a backup copy of your saved variables file before installing a beta version - you normally cannot revert back to the release version without that backup. your saved variable file is normally located in World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua

if you have the curse client set to download beta versions then it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file - do not complain if you lose them or they get screwed up because you installed a beta version, its what beta versions tend to do.

a simple way to back it up is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of AI is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-3-01-09.lua

    Guild Bank

i am the GM of my guild and i like to view who is putting in and taking out stuff (LOG) but i cant seem to figure out how to get those buttons to show up on this mod. so far i've needed to disable Arkinventory to see whats actually going on. any advice?!

    thx

  • #3792

Right click on one of the bags at the bottom of the guild bank view and select log :)

  • #3788
On the default bag screen, there is a search box. When you type the name, it will highlight the item(s) by matching the typed char strings. That search box keep disappearing on me.. and I am not sure why or how it disappeared. Please let me know how to get back that default search box.
  • #3789

right click on the search (magnifying glass) icon to toggle the local search pane.

I keep getting this lua error everytime I log on. I didn't change anything and it just randomly started happening a couple days ago. Can anyone tell me how to fix it?

I'm having a very strange issue.

I'm trying to classify the Gnomish Gravity Well as an engineering item-- right now it's being sorted in with the misc. unclassified items. So I enter Edit Mode, right click on it, and the Gravity Well activates, launching me into the air. Every other item I tried (out of a random sampling of my bags) brings up a menu. Is there any other way to reclassify the item or bring up that menu aside from clicking?
  • #3784
Would be nice to have a drop down menu of sorts for all my sort options (pun not intended :)

Now I have to go to Edit and select it from there.
  • #3782
I have been told that when you use Arkinventory to sort items in the guild Bank, other people don't see the changes. is this true?
  • #3790

yep, AI is just a display mod, it doesnt alter the underlying containers - except when you restack, and that only consolidates items, it doesnt move them around as such.

  • #3783
I actually just tested this by sorting it with arkinventory then disabling it and taking a look..doesn't actually sort the items, just changes how it shows them to you.
  • #3779
Is there anyway you can get Arkinventory to work with LinkWrangler? I like to be able to click on a link and see if I have the items in my bank/bag/other toons that ArkInventory allows, but it doesn't work with LinkWrangler and I also really like using LinkWrangler
  • #3778
I've been experiencing low framerate in-game for the past few months; 12-20 fps. Looks like ArkInventory is the culprit. I've tried all sorts of things to figure out what the problem is, and the only thing that seems to work is removing ArkInventory. Anyone else experience this problem?
  • #3773
Ok so might be a dumb question but I need to ask cuse i can't find the answer. I recently changed the name of a toon. Now it shows i have an item on the old toon and the new toon so its telling me i have a total of 6 truegold when i really only have 3. How do i remove outdated info for old toons and even old guilds that i left behind years ago. I looked all through the config options but couldn't find anything.
  • #3774
I would love to know this aswell ;)

Maybe a pane in the options menu for "Data Resetting"
like, options for each guild and stuff, and other characters.
Or maybe just a guide on how to do it without the options menu (even though it would be a damn nice addition)
  • #3777
"Guild bank" and then do the same.
