when posting a comment about an error do not include the list of addons, just the actual error and trace is fine.

AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".

AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.

You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.

  • unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
  • assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
  • assign categories to the bar of your choice
  • configurable bars per row
  • configurable width
  • separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing

Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use

See ReadMe.txt and VersionHistory.txt for further details

Beta Versions:

ensure you make a backup copy of your saved variables file before installing a beta version - you normally cannot revert back to the release version without that backup. your saved variable file is normally located in World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua

if you have the curse client set to download beta versions then it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file - do not complain if you lose them or they get screwed up because you installed a beta version, its what beta versions tend to do.

a simple way to back it up is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of AI or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-3-01-09.lua, or ArkInventory-2013-12-28.lua

A weird little bug that keeps coming up is how ArkInventory tracks guild bank funds. I'm in two guilds on Avilmar -- one I raid with, one that's personal for the tab storage and whatnot. ArkInventory is constantly transposing how much gold is in each guild bank. My personal guild has a little over 500k, the raiding bank has almost 200k. But ArkInventory seems to show them wrong (as each other's total) every other time I log on. Really odd. Not game breaking, mind you, just kind of annoying.

At any rate, thanks for the great addon!

Everyone blindly adding "it's broken since the last update" needs to learn to read before posting.  There's a very simple fix described here.

  • #4179

    Completely broke in 3.03.12

Not working at all after latest update. I can't even get anything beyond my back pack to open without shutting off the addon.

  • #4177

Same.  The Config window wont even open.  Going to try to find an older release.

  • #4178

It seems that the keyboard button for arkinventory to open is now Shift-B. But the automatic opening of bags is still tied to the normal UI.

Installing the older ArkInventory didn't help. I guess the SavedVariables are fucked now...

  • #4173

Had troubles as i upgraded addon to 3.03.12, standard inventory interface instead of ArkInventory

"/run ..." string in post #4164 did it all good like a wand.

  • #4171

after  the addon does not work.  i log in and there isn't an arkinventory window I have my normal bags.  I checked to see if the game thought the addon was out of date but that are is good to go.  What is the issue?

  • #4170

still not working, i have uninstalled, reinstalled, updated, and copied that text you posted.

  • #4166

    Missing LibPetJournal

  • #4164

if you are having issues with 3.03.11 try 3.03.12 or type the following into your chat window

    /run ArkInventory.EraseSavedData( nil, ArkInventory.Const.Location.Token )

it should have wiped your token data completely during the upgrade, not sure why it hasnt

note: please do not post the list of addons you have, just the error is plenty

Thank you, this fixed it. I wish there was a way to sticky this post so everyone would see it!

  • #4183

thank you this fixed my error.

  • #4180

    Worked for me, too. Thanks!
