when posting a comment about an error do not include the list of addons, just the actual error and trace is fine.

AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".

AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.

You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.

Overview:

  • unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
  • assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
  • assign categories to the bar of your choice
  • configurable bars per row
  • configurable width
  • separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing

Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use

See ReadMe.txt and VersionHistory.txt for further details

Beta Versions:

ensure you make a backup copy of your saved variables file before installing a beta version - you normally cannot revert back to the release version without that backup. your saved variable file is normally located in World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua

if you have the curse client set to download beta versions then it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file - do not complain if you lose them or they get screwed up because you installed a beta version, its what beta versions tend to do.

a simple way to back it up is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of AI or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-3-01-09.lua, or ArkInventory-2013-12-28.lua

not in the current version, the next version may do what you want (or very close to it)

  • #3896

Can you add a second LDB feed to show bank counts?
I prefer to be able to see Bank and Inventory counts at a glance on Bazooka.

  • #3901

can you be more specific? do you mean like the tracking feed but just for bank and vault numbers? or something else?

  • #3905

Yes, that's exactly what I meant.

Possible to sort by auction value?

Is it possible to set ArkInventory up to sort items by auction value? This would work wonders for my glyph selling mule. :)

I use LilSparky's Workshop addon for the tradeskill window and it adds this sorting option. Would be great if it's possible in ArkInventory somehow.

  • #3900

should be possible, id just have to get around to figuring out how to get the ah price from the other mod, then have the time to code it in.

i will add it to the to-do list

    Won't work on one toon.

I'm not sure if this is just user error, but a little clarification would be great if it is possible. ArkInventory is working fantasticly on all of my characters but one. For some reason, this addon will not work on my Warlock. No error has popped up, that I'm aware of, and there is no slash command to recognize. If I go to the options from hitting ESC and click on interface, then to addons, ArkInventory is not there. All is well on my other characters, but I guess this addon really hates my Warlock. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I've shut down, restarted, everything I could think of and it still won't work for my Lock.

  • #3890

at the character selection screen click once on your warlock, then click on the addons button, most likely arkinventory isnt enabled for that toon

  • #3895

Thanks a lot, Arkayenro! I never noticed that. The check on the addon window on the character selection screen for ArkInventory was greyed out. Thanks a whole bunch!

    "Arkinventory has been blocked"

Any time I try to use an item directly from my bags I get the error. "ArkInvntory has been blocked from performing an action only available to the Blizzard UI. You can disable this addon and reload the UI."

  • #3893

should be another mod as arkinventory doesnt use any secure code so cant taint and shouldnt get blocked.

you can set taintLog=1 and when it happens again check the taint log file to see why and what actually caused the blocked to happen

  • #3887

read the wiki on how to do rules and the like and now i give up :p starting to think i suck at them or the addon hates me ^_^

  • #3891

    the addon hates you :)

if you let me know what you want the rule to do i can probably tell you how you should be writing it

  • #3886

Can u get tyhe addon to show conquest and valor points like u did with justice points from in the image, as the images you show are way out of date and i thought that it would show these.

  • #3892

yeh i know, blizzard changed the currency stuff a while back and made it excessively difficult to link currencies to their internal ids (well technically they dont have an internal id, just a position in the currency list, which changes depending on how many currencies youve run into and if youve expanded or collapsed sections in the currency list)

i have a workaround but its in v5 which isnt really ready yet
