when posting a comment about an error do not include the list of addons, just the actual error and trace is fine.


AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".

AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.

You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.

Overview:

  • unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
  • assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
  • assign categories to the bar of your choice
  • configurable bars per row
  • configurable width
  • separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing


Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use

Beta Versions:

ensure you make a backup copy of your saved variables file before installing a beta version - you normally cannot revert back to the release version without that backup. your saved variable file is normally located in World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua

if you have the curse client set to download beta versions then it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file - do not complain if you lose them or they get screwed up because you installed a beta version, its what beta versions tend to do.

a simple way to back it up is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of AI or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-3-01-09.lua, or ArkInventory-2013-12-28.lua

    I simply LOVE this addon.

    After the last update ALL gear, soulbound AND equippable now has the same "name". So soulbound gear now is called Equippable Items together with NOT soulbound items.

    Please fix this.

    its not doing that on mine, ive got items in both categories, can you turn on edit mode and click on the items, make sure they are not being picked up by a rule and only have the system category assigned to them

    Been using yer addon for a long time and love it!

    I'm having toybox issues now though. It worked for a while but now I get a bag that says ERR on the left bottom with most of my toons. With the toons that are working, everything is red. I can drag the toy out to my bag or bar to use it. Have I missed something that I need to do?

    the ERR issue should have been fixed in 3.04.15, and the ai toybox window is read only, all you can do is drag them onto an action bar.

    Would be nice if the cleanup, automatically moved reagents into the reagent tab of the bank now.  Just a suggestion.

    Getting this error almost constantly while playing...I don't do code, so it's probably something I'm doing wrong. Is this just a simple addon noncompatibility with Tradeskill Master? Thanks for the addon btw, been using it for as long as I could remember. The customization is awesome.

    the last time i saw a movebackward issue it was a blizzard bug, were you moving around and picked something up in your bag?

    Decent addon, has the features I'm looking for, however the settings never stick. I set something, and it just reverts on UI reload. Also has some issues with auto sorting.

    if the settings never stick then profiles are not being saved - and ai uses the same profile cose as every other ace3 based mod so you should be having issues with other mods as well

    check the location of your savedvariables to ensure that the files there are being updated by the game

    btw, if youre using a mac and have non-ascii characters in your name then that should have been fixed by blizzard with hte patch last night

    Hi, love your addon, been using it for years.

    Would it be possible to have the new default (at least I think it's new) way of searching work for ArkInventory? So that a search for "one-hand" or "shield" highlights all the gear for those slots.

    for the time being the bank and reagent bank will stay merged

    in the config you can increase the bank width, or lower its height so that it scrolls
