AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".

AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.

You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.

Overview:

  • unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
  • assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
  • assign categories to the bar of your choice
  • configurable bars per row
  • configurable width
  • separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing

Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use

See ReadMe.txt and VersionHistory.txt for further details

Beta Versions:

ensure you make a backup copy of your saved variables file before installing a beta version - you normally cannot revert back to the release version without that backup. your saved variable file is normally located in World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua

if you have the curse client set to download beta versions then it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file - do not complain if you lose them or they get screwed up because you installed a beta version, its what beta versions tend to do.

a simple way to back it up is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of AI or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-3-01-09.lua, or ArkInventory-2013-12-28.lua

    Re: ArkInventory Mount Warning

How do I turn off the "land before dismounting" warning that won't allow me to do just that? It's annoying as hell.

  • #5245

from the ldb icon (if you have that installed)

    or

from the mount windows main icon (top left) menu

mount > flying > dismount in flight

Is it possible to add something to an item to keep it from being added to the reagent bank?  90% of my crafting reagents I want deposited.. but I have a few I want to keep in my bags for quest turn-ins.

  • #5239

all you can do is flag one of the bags as disable cleanup then put the items you want to keep in that bag

btw, you can craft with items from the bank, can you hand in quests the same way?

yes, currently its off the bag icon.

next version will have a right click menu off the cleanup icon to deposit reagents for people that dont have the changer window open all the time

  • #5240

I don't believe you can hand in quests from bank/reagent bank. I was actually coming to find where the deposit to reagents button is, though. Am I correct to assume you open the bank and hit the clean up button on your  bags?

Is there anyway to make cleanup behave the way it used to? I don't want it moving my bag around, just fixing the stacks of things.

I've had a pretty specific way of laying out the items in my bag and bank for years, now, but every time I hit cleanup it just sorts the crap how it wants.

  • #5238

in the config, disable cleanup (its on the first page)

Hey Ark. Have a question again about the sorting in the bags.  This is regarding the "main" grouping if that's what you call it. If you look at the linked screenshot of my bag, the sorting at the bottom right seems a bit random.  Can I make it so it sorts "fully" rather than on the screenshot where there are empty slots between items?

    Bag sorting

  • #5229

refresh, see if it updates, if it doesnt then go into edit mode and check what sorting method has been apllied to that bar, you may have accidentally changed it to bag/slot over-riding the window default

  • #5232

Cheers for the reply. Will have a look at it when I get online laters.

    Hi,

1/ Sorry for my bad english, I'm french.

2/ Thank you SO MUCH for your addon, I use it since 2009 and I think I would stop Wow if I had to loose it.

3/ However, I have a problem for the first time, with the reagent bank.
When I put something in my bank, the sorting is fine, except for the reagent bag : the items do not stack properly . They stay in two different slots, even when I use the sorting fonction. It works fine with all the other bags except this one.
So, if I split a stack of reagents IN the reagent bag, and use the sorting fonction, it works and the two slots stack.
If I split a stack of reagent and put one half in the reagent bag and one half in an other, and use the sorting fonction, they don't stack.
So, when I put a reagent in my bank, it goes in a normal bag, and does not stack with the reagent in the reagent bag.

I hope I'm clear... Do you have any idea ?
Thank you very much in advance.

there is currently no way that i can find to tell the game that you  have the reagent bank opened (not without actually showing the window) so i when you right click on items in your bag they go into your bank - not the reagent bank.

the closest you can do at the moment is to use the cleanup function and if you have items you dont want moved place tehm into a specific bag and set that bag to ignored by cleanup

    Quote from Arkayenro »

...if you right click oni the reagent tab "bag" the deposit reagents option is in there, as is an option to do that as part of cleanup

I had not seen that before. Knowing now what I didn't know then, I now know that it's working as I want it to. Thanks Ark. I've been with you on this mod since you introduced it years ago and I've never turned away for something else. Best bag mod on the market! Thanks for keeping on keepin' on.

as i said, theres no way that i can find that allows me to tell the game that you have the reagent bank tab opened without actually openeing the blizzard reagent bank window - it doesnt matter how i display the reagent bank that problem will always be there

if you right click oni the reagent tab "bag" the deposit reagents option is in there, as is an option to do that as part of cleanup
