Known Issues

  • When gaining a reputation level recipes for that faction will still appear in red when doing a scan.
  • Recipe acquire information is slightly inaccurate. We are updating recipes daily as information is identified. If you find something inaccurate or wrong, submit a ticket here and we will get it updated.

Feature Requests/Bug Reporting

Read the Bug Reporting and Feature Requesting information before submitted a bug report or feature request. Posting reports in the comments is not the place to do so. Ackis had to turn off the comments at Curse.com because of constant bug reports and feature requests. Comments are for questions on how to use the mod, or you can see the thread on WoW Ace. Please follow these small little instructions to make our lives easier. The easier you make development for Ackis Recipe List, the more time we will have to develop other addons.

Bug Reports

Please use the WoW Ace tracker to file bug reports. Posting bugs in the comments is not the place to do it.

Feature Request

Please use the WoW Ace tracker to add suggestions and feature requests. Not all suggestions will be accepted: there are many people who use this addon, each with separate views. We will, however, try to make it as user friendly as possible...but when a decision is made please accept it.

Integration

Ackis Recipe List strives to integrate with existing trade skill mods out there. If you have a request for integration, please submit a feature request at WoW Ace. We make no promises to implement the feature at all. There is a limited API documented to interface with the ARL database. If you are a developer and would like more functions, please contact us on IRC. Currently, the mod works with:

If your mod should be on this list, please submit a ticket.

--------------------

James D. Callahan III:
    - Finally got around to implementing ticket #996 after roughly three years and ten months.
    - Moved the "Display Exclusions" and "Skill" checkboxes.
    - Changed AddAllWaypoints to insert the recipe object into the WAYPOINT_ENTITIES table, rather than its spell id.
    - Made another reversion to DisplayAcquireData() - GnomeWorks expected the recipe to be a spell ID.
    - Added SpellID Recipe method.
    - Moved some things around.
    - Cleanups and clarifications.
    - Hrm - recipe.spell_id was inexplicably replaced with recipe.id in a few places. This has been rectified, which also fixes ticket #1605
    - Replaced private.acquire_list with a table on the AcquireTypes themselves, supported by the AssignRecipe, GetRecipe, GetSortedRecipes, and RecipePairs methods.
    - Cleanup of Sort_Acquisition(), and changed it to use the actual AcquireTypes.
    - Cleaned up private.SortRecipeList() and added the sorted list as a return value.
    - Make sure the AcquireType isn't nil before attempting to get its ID.
    - AcquireType:Entities()=>AcquireType:EntityPairs()
    - I overzealously changed a parameter type for DisplayAcquireData, forgetting that it was used as an API for other AddOns (GnomeWorks). Whoops. Reverted.

i noticed after specializing my engineer goby that the mod doesn't seem to add those recipe to the list, only way i managed to do so is by going into the option and to check under general config the specialties, that way i can see the goby stuff in the list but it also show the gnomish stuff witch i cant get at all. Is there a way the mod could be made to auto-detect the specialties instead of having to use an option that is mean to show un-trained specialties recipes.

I'm not sure where to post this, as it really wouldn't be considered a bug, per se, but I've hit a dead end. I've spent the last week and a half farming the Runic Blacksmithing plans that are supposed to be on Alcaz Isle in Dustwallow Marsh. Someone in my guild has also been farming at times when I haven't been around. I'm talking thousands of naga, 20-30 loops of the isle per day on many days. I haven't had one of the recipes drop. The drop rate I'm seeing does not correspond at all to the drop rates that were reported pre-shattering, and the drop rates on Wowhead also concur that something is terribly wrong - either the drop rate was substantially nerfed, or the recipes are no longer dropping at all, and the wowhead post-shattering data are contaminated by people uploading pre-shattering data after the shattering (I've seen that with other recipes which are confirmed to no longer be in the game, like the Runic Plate Boots from the Scarlet Cavaliers). On average, the drop rates went from 1-1.5% to .15-.6% post-shattering.

I did open a ticket with a GM and the GM told me they still drop. But the more I farm, the more I can't help but think that something just doesn't feel right. I don't think opening another ticket on my end would help. I guess if anything, I wanted to alert you guys that something might be wrong with the drop listed in the addon for these, and maybe you have some way other than GM ticket that can accurately identify whether these do in fact still drop.
  • #1538
I was looking into this for a little while myself and I too opened a ticket. Only difference is that I was told by the GM that the Runic Plans (all 5 of them) have been removed from the game.

Seems like ARL just needs to be updated to indicate this.
  • #1530
for whatever reason, the newest versions of ARL are blocking the ability to SET FOCUS.
  • #1529
Just wondering, when are vendor locations going to be updated within this addon? I just started using it and I think its great; its just that a good number of vendors were moved around with Cata, so their /loc's that are listed within the addon are off.
  • #1531
A lot of them have been updated since, but there are many that need to be updated as well, if you want to file a ticket on the dev site with the list of Vendors/new locations that need their location adjusted, that would help.

AckisRecipeList-2.2.6\Interface\List.lua:1373: attempt to index field '?' (a nil value)
    AckisRecipeList-2.2.6\Interface\List.lua:271: in function

Getting that error when trying to click on recipes under the Acquisition tab and Location tab. Recipe tab works fine

I've been using ARL for a while now, however since at least some point during WOTLK, whenever i open a tradeskill up for the first time after logging into the game, ARL will lock up my PC for at least 10-15 seconds. If I try to do anything during this time, WoW will sometimes crash. I always figured this was because I have over 500 LWing recipes, but if so, this will just start to happen with everyone soon considering new recipes are being added all the time. If this is not the case, do you have any suggestions on how to go about fixing this issue?
  • #1521
for some reason when scan recipes every one gots like fff1011ff#... for example befor the name making the list even more difficult to look at.... consider adding a text size option to the mod
  • #1524
This was fixed in the latest version.
  • #1520
scan button sometimes not working, not only last version, was as long i can remember
/arl scan profession works ok, but its kinda annoying :)
  • #1523
I have never been able to reproduce this, unfortunately.
  • #1533
When the scan button is on the top I can't click it. If I move it to either of the bottom positions it starts working.
  • #1519
"Spell 33285 is not in your local cache" refers to a recipe completely removed from the game... it has been fixed in an alpha..

The color code thing was also fixed in an alpha and the toc was also bumped.

Expect a release soon (tm) :)
  • #1518
need to go to dev site above for a alpha version of this mod..
