Profession AddOns

Due to the increasing data size and memory usage with each WoW expansion, the professions have been split into their own AddOns; you need only download the ones you'll be using. Each installed and enabled profession AddOn will load whenever it's first accessed by the ARL core.

You can either download the Ackis Recipe List Addon Pack which has Ackis Recipe List's core and all profession AddOns, or install the profession AddOns separately:

Note that Ackis Recipe List will not work without the AddOn for the profession you are trying to scan. If you attempt to scan a profession that is not installed, you will be informed.

Known Issues

  • When gaining a reputation level recipes for that faction will still appear in red when doing a scan.
  • Recipe acquire information is slightly inaccurate. We are updating recipes daily as information is identified. If you find something inaccurate or wrong, submit a ticket here and we will get it updated.

Feature Requests/Bug Reporting

Read the Bug Reporting and Feature Requesting information before submitted a bug report or feature request. Posting reports in the comments is not the place to do so. Ackis had to turn off the comments at because of constant bug reports and feature requests. Comments are for questions on how to use the mod, or you can see the thread on WoW Ace. Please follow these small little instructions to make our lives easier. The easier you make development for Ackis Recipe List, the more time we will have to develop other addons.

Bug Reports

Please use the WoW Ace tracker to file bug reports. Posting bugs in the comments is not the place to do it.

Feature Request

Please use the WoW Ace tracker to add suggestions and feature requests. Not all suggestions will be accepted: there are many people who use this addon, each with separate views. We will, however, try to make it as user friendly as possible...but when a decision is made please accept it.

Ackis Recipe List strives to integrate with existing trade skill mods out there. If you have a request for integration, please submit a feature request at WoW Ace. We make no promises to implement the feature at all. There is a limited API documented to interface with the ARL database. If you are a developer and would like more functions, please contact us on IRC. Currently, the mod works with:

If your mod should be on this list, please submit a ticket.

Detailed Documentation

  • Ideas for the mod came from FGTradeLacker (original mod no longer updated, however someone has taken over updating the recipes for it).

  • Please see the X-Credits field for more Acknowledgments. Any code snippets borrowed or inspired from are credited in the code files. The main display also lists all people who are in X-Credits.

You have "alpha" set as the release type either globally or specifically for ARL in Curse Client. So you are using alphas, you should expect many updates if you using an alphas. We don't recommend end users to be using alphas if they don't know to expect bugs and what not or constant updates.

I just used the client to instal it, and have not really changed anything from default except to show only 1 faction patterns. Should i just reinstall it from the release list above, or can i just change the setting?

Pattern: Robes of Arcana was deleted in Cataclysm. GM confirmed that.

I d/l this and want to simply find what recipes I don't own yet. Can anyone provide a step-by-step on how to do this?
  • #1551
    Open your tradeskill window
    Clear any filters
In the top right of the window there should be a "Scan" button
Click on that and it will show all the recipes you are missing

(If the button is missing, download the latest update - you may be missing a dependent package such as Ace3)

Veenix apparently no longer exist. At least he is not in the Stonetalon Mountains at the location given.
  • #1543
Thanks, I removed him from ARL.

this addon isnt linking to carbonite anymore....

i noticed after specializing my engineer goby that the mod doesn't seem to add those recipe to the list, only way i managed to do so is by going into the option and to check under general config the specialties, that way i can see the goby stuff in the list but it also show the gnomish stuff witch i cant get at all. Is there a way the mod could be made to auto-detect the specialties instead of having to use an option that is mean to show un-trained specialties recipes.

I'm not sure where to post this, as it really wouldn't be considered a bug, per se, but I've hit a dead end. I've spent the last week and a half farming the Runic Blacksmithing plans that are supposed to be on Alcaz Isle in Dustwallow Marsh. Someone in my guild has also been farming at times when I haven't been around. I'm talking thousands of naga, 20-30 loops of the isle per day on many days. I haven't had one of the recipes drop. The drop rate I'm seeing does not correspond at all to the drop rates that were reported pre-shattering, and the drop rates on Wowhead also concur that something is terribly wrong - either the drop rate was substantially nerfed, or the recipes are no longer dropping at all, and the wowhead post-shattering data are contaminated by people uploading pre-shattering data after the shattering (I've seen that with other recipes which are confirmed to no longer be in the game, like the Runic Plate Boots from the Scarlet Cavaliers). On average, the drop rates went from 1-1.5% to .15-.6% post-shattering.

I did open a ticket with a GM and the GM told me they still drop. But the more I farm, the more I can't help but think that something just doesn't feel right. I don't think opening another ticket on my end would help. I guess if anything, I wanted to alert you guys that something might be wrong with the drop listed in the addon for these, and maybe you have some way other than GM ticket that can accurately identify whether these do in fact still drop.
  • #1538
I was looking into this for a little while myself and I too opened a ticket. Only difference is that I was told by the GM that the Runic Plans (all 5 of them) have been removed from the game.

Seems like ARL just needs to be updated to indicate this.
  • #1530
for whatever reason, the newest versions of ARL are blocking the ability to SET FOCUS.
  • #1529
Just wondering, when are vendor locations going to be updated within this addon? I just started using it and I think its great; its just that a good number of vendors were moved around with Cata, so their /loc's that are listed within the addon are off.
