What it does

Ackis Recipe List is an addon which will scan your trade skills and provide information on how to obtain recipes. It works for all tradeskills including Runeforging.

How to get it to work

You open up a trade skill window (ie: enchanting) and click on the Scan button which is attached to the trade skill window. Results will be printed out to the chat frame, or into a separate window depending on preference.

Command Line

Ackis Recipe List has recently changed to use a GUI for change parameters. Type /arl to open up the GUI. Acceptable commands include:

  • Opens up the about panel, listing information about the mod: 
    /arl about
    • Opens up the sorting options: 
      /arl sort
      or 
      /arl sorting
    • Scan a profession: 
      /arl scan profession
    • Opens up in-game documentation regarding ARL: 
      /arl documentation
    • Opens up display options: 
      /arl display
    • Opens up profile options: 
      /arl profile
    • Prints out a list of all the profession tradeskill links: 
      /arl tradelinks

Clicking

Ackis Recipe List will behave differently depending on which modifying keys you use to click.

Scan Button

This is the functionality that occurs when you are clicking the scan button.

  • Normal Click
    • Performs a scan of the current tradeskill displaying recipes in a new window.
  • Shift Click
    • Generates a text dumping of the current tradeskill in a format (CSV, XML, BBC) specified by the user.
  • Alt Click
    • Removes all waypoints on the World Map and Mini-map generated by ARL.
  • Ctrl Click
    • Provides development code for use when updating trainers, vendors, etc in the recipe database.

Recipe

This is the functionality that occurs when you click on a recipe.

  • Normal Click
    • Expands or contracts the recipe acquire information.
  • Shift Click
    • Generates an item link of the item that the recipe will make into your default chat box.
  • Ctrl Click
    • Generates a spell link for the recipe you clicked.
  • Alt Click
    • Adds or removes a recipe from the exclusion list.
  • Ctrl-Shift Click
    • Adds the specific recipe acquire methods to the World Map and Mini-map.

Known Issues

  • When gaining a reputation level recipes for that faction will still appear in red when doing a scan.
  • Recipe acquire information is slightly inaccurate. We are updating recipes daily as information is identified. If you find something inaccurate or wrong, submit a ticket here and we will get it updated.

Feature Requests/Bug Reporting

Read the Bug Reporting and Feature Requesting information before submitted a bug report or feature request. Posting reports in the comments is not the place to do so. Ackis had to turn off the comments at Curse.com because of constant bug reports and feature requests. Comments are for questions on how to use the mod, or you can see the thread on WoW Ace. Please follow these small little instructions to make our lives easier. The easier you make development for Ackis Recipe List, the more time we will have to develop other addons.

Please use the WoW Ace tracker to file bug reports. Posting bugs in the comments is not the place to do it.

Feature Request

Please use the WoW Ace tracker to add suggestions and feature requests. Not all suggestions will be accepted: there are many people who use this addon, each with separate views. We will, however, try to make it as user friendly as possible...but when a decision is made please accept it.

Integration

Ackis Recipe List strives to integrate with existing trade skill mods out there. If you have a request for integration, please submit a feature request at WoW Ace. We make no promises to implement the feature at all. There is a limited API documented to interface with the ARL database. If you are a developer and would like more functions, please contact us on IRC. Currently, the mod works with:

    Hey, I decided to reinstall this addon but Im having trouble getting it to work. It shows up fine at the char screen but when Im ingame there is no trace of it.

    Is there a reset function or am I doing it correct?

    Ive installed it with winaceupdater as i do with all my ace mods.

    It would be useful to have this show where the vender recipes could be bought or if this could incorporate something like "Fizzwidgets Add Space" which already does this.

    there is lot of recipes that are horde or alliance only( it should be show in the addon)

    "Enchant 2H Weapon - Superior Impact" is listed as dropping from a Blackhand Elite in LBRS but I think that mob is from UBRS. At least, I couldn't find one in LBRS and my humanoid tracking was showing them in the UBRS area (I tried soloing into UBRS but you can't get past the second room without a party so I can't confirm for certain).

    Thanks for the great add-on, it has found quite a few recipes I don't have.

    "Field Repair Bot 74A" is listed as "BoP Mob Drop: Golem Lord Argelmach, BRD", it's not a drop though, it's a clickable scroll (called "Schematic: Field Repair Bot 74A") on the ground in the same room as Argelmach, clicking it gives you the schematic (you don't have to kill him to get it, since it's outside his aggro range at 70). I killed him 5 times before I realized this, I'm a bit slow sometimes. :D

    In case you can't tell this add-on has inspired me to start farming for all my missing recipes.

    p.s. There seems to be a bug where if you bring up a tradeskill window and scan, then bring up a different tradeskill window and scan, it doesn't probably clear the missing recipes from the first tradeskill, and shows the two mixed together for the second tradeskill.

    "Enchant Shield - Resilience" is listed as 315 but you can't train it until 330.

    Hello everyone, sorry for the time lapse in replying here. :)

    @Nihlo: Yes, you can get them from vendors but only during the festival.

    @Garmito: Does typing /arl do anything?

    @Tomico: I'm working on adding vendor location information. :) It's quite annoying not to have it.

    @CYPSYAN: Updated the two recipes. Regarding Horde/Alliance there is a flag for it in the database, and to filter you must set the filtering options. Default is to show both Horde and Alliance obtain ones.

    @Pike: I've updated the recipes you've mentioned, thanks. :)

    I'll be posting another update here in the next few days. :)

    Just a simple question. Is this the Ackis that was on Wanderhome back in SWG? If so glad to still see that your around....I was Melik O'kliv back on there, was the first leader of KEG.

    Good work on this addon, have loved it ever since I found it about 2 weeks ago.

    is there a way to have it look for alliance only (if your playign an alliance character) or horde (if playign horde character) at the moment its bringing up both factions and i cannot work out how to change this (if thats at all possible).

    I have tried/arl options (which brings up a list) but as yet have not found out how to change these standard option settings.

    I have tried /arl filter (brings up a list, though not able to change anything). /arl filter faction /arl filter -faction /arl filter - faction and the same with factiosn but nothing seems to work. What am i doing wrong in trying to set the filters or is this not possible to do?
