About AthRogueCalc

http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/75/athroguecalctitleweb.png

AthRogueCalc is a work in progress!

AthRogueCalc is an Addon designed to either fully replace or be used together with third party spreadsheets to determine Equivalence Points and find upgrades among the vast sea of items that might or might not be an attractive alternative to your item.

Currently features Assassination model. The other two will come with time.

Features

  • EP calculation
  • Average total DPS estimation
  • Damage Breakdown (for comparison)
  • Automatic Gear Scan
  • Save functionality for gear sets
  • Item tooltip hooks

Features that I wish to add:

  • Gear set comparisons: Compare two entirely different sets at once - which set grants what advantages and which provide the highest potential average DPS?
  • Module Control for extra models (such as the gear set compare) to allow easier usage for AthRogueCalc itself and for third-party addons to hook themselves on to AthRogueCalc.

How do I open the window ingame?

Either use the minimap button or the slash command system.

Slash Commands

"/athrogue <command>" where <command> can be any of the following:

  • toggle - toggles the main window
  • minimap - toggles the minimap button
  • itemtooltips - toggles the use of item tooltip hooks. Use with caution: may cause lagspikes!

Supported Trinkets and Procs:

  • Essence of the Cyclone
  • Fluid Death
  • Grace of the Herald
  • Key to the Endless Chamber
  • Left Eye of Rajh
  • Prestor's Talisman of Machination
  • Tia's Grace
  • Unheeded Warning
  • Hurricane Weapon Enchant
  • Landslide Weapon Enchant
  • Tier11 2-piece bonus
  • Tier11 4-piece bonus

Supported Game Client Languages:

  • English

IMPORTANT: OTHER LANGUAGES WILL PROBABLY NOT WORK WITH THIS ADDON (YET)!

Still under development

Please use the ticket system and post bugs, calculation errors or post feature requests!

Thanks to Aezay for letting me use his gear scanner code from Examiner as a base for AthRogueCalc's gear scanner!

    Update:
Working on Cataclysm changes. Loads of changes and additions coming up, but probably not before Cataclysm is released and testing on live proves to provide the same results as on beta.

I plan to test this after the servers are backonline to see what it is like I still own my old gear as well

Also a nice feature to add is maybe so you can swap gear around

I am also sort of confused as well to if you addon calculates older gear not just t10 251 item level or does it do all items in the game and maybe possible buffs you may get in a raid

I just love my rogue over my more geared pally as he does more dps than him for some dumb reason maybe some of you rogue users can answer this for me my only answer is this is that a rogue is a pure damage class compared to a pally they can take on 3 rolls if they want to but it does depend on what I am attacking

Also this possible amount of dps you may do what is that you are hitting to get that figure to maybe give a true answer or possible damage you could do in a raid on a boss with the gear you have

At the moment, AthRogueCalc supports every item in the game, but only a couple of items that have procs* are modelled as of this writing. You can swap around items as you like, however, your server must have seen the item in question before you can use it. This is for the simple reason that I've chosen to use itemlinks* to store item specific information, and thus, for the user to acquire said itemlinks they will have to query the server (using AtlasLoot or any other third party addon). If the server do not have that item in it's database (the database is washed clean every time it's restarted) you will not be able to use the itemlink (it doesn't show).

AthRogueCalc (like every other DPS estimator) is not accurate at all. There is one major reason for this: Spreadsheets is not the real thing. As long we don't get wow's own code we can never get to be the real thing, and thus we will never be able to estimate your DPS. And even if we had wow's code, we could still only provide estimates or simulations that are far from what a real encounter could be. AthRogueCalc (along with most other spreadsheets) use averages to calculate what your estimated DPS and EP values are. This means that we have to make certain assumptions to calculate to determine where our averages are at. These assumptions are that you are level 80, hitting a raidboss (level 83), the raidboss x amount of armor (can't remember the exact amount) etc.

To sum up all the above; AthRogueCalc uses averages to guess what your estimated DPS could be, if you stood still througout the entire encounter doing nothing but a 100% perfect rotation with no interruptions what so ever. The use of AthRogueCalc is still something I work on, however the main feature is the EP values and that you can value stats and compare items.

As for your question why your rogue perform better; that cannot be explained - there's so many factors that play in.

    * proc: in short, it is a boost (or decrease) in stats over a certain amount of time, or, an extra attack, extra damage or in general something that differs from what would normally happen if you had not had the source currently equipped. example: http://www.wowhead.com/item=50343; Equip: When you deal damage you have a chance to gain 1250 attack power for 15 sec.

    * itemlink: any item that appears with brackets ( "[" and "]" ) and are clickable.

    tooltip please:D
  • #7
    in time :)
  • #8
i am to unpatiente to whait for it xD
  • #4
About to test it out too. This could be amazingly useful.
  • #5
Indeed. It is still very unstable, and quite a few calculations are probably wrong, so do not trust it yet. I am working intensively to get the features I want in, and will be working on getting the models as correct as one can.

If you find bugs, please don't hesitate to post a ticket using the ticket system. Thanks for testing!

Gonna test the addon now Atha :D I hope it works ^^

P.S: great addon :) but still some minor bugs :P

    There's a reason it's still beta :)

    Thanks for testing!
