About Auctionator

Auctionator has a new developer!
Welcome borjamacare as the new manager and developer of Auctionator.

Auctionator is designed for casual everyday auction house users. Auctionator makes the auction house easier to use, by presenting auction house listings clearly and succinctly, and by eliminating the tedium involved in posting and managing auctions.

Auctionator is looking for beta testers to provide QA and feedback for bug fixes and new features prior to release. Please PM borjamacare if you are interested in helping!

If you're already a user and have a question, you might find the answer in the FAQ wiki.

If you find a bug, you can report it in the comments below. Remember, when reporting bugs, the more detail you provide, the more likely I am to actually look into your bug report.

I've created a github repo to help manage the backlog of issues reported in the comments. If you're comfortable with github, please file a ticket in the issue tracker, leaving your curse username so I can follow up here.

OMG...., reading that this addon lives on because there is a new developer made my day!!

Tnx for investing your time in this project borjamacare. :)

  • #5669

My pleasure.  Wanna make *my day* and do some beta testing for me? :)  I've got a build with some minor bug fixes, I'll be making some more drastic structural changes over the weekend and what to do some sanity testing before I release.

  • #5665

Great addon, but I got a quick suggestion... or a feature you might already have but I'm just blind...

Nonetheless, could you make it such that the addon would ignore suffixes of items while checking availability on the Auction ?

    Example:

I got a "Deadly Axe 'of the wolf' ", dragging that to the Sell box it shows there's no other Deadly Axes... but if I did a manual search for "Deadly Axe" I'd see a list of "Whale", "Seer", "Bear", etc. ...

Gets rather annoying with this regard when you're selling a bunch of greens for Transmog. If you could do something about it, or tell me how to get around it, that would be great!

Thanks for the request!  It's been requested a few times, and I'm tracking it https://github.com/jrob8577/AuctionatorAddon/issues/47.  For the moment, I'm focusing on bug fixes, but will be reviewing all of the feature requests once I get a bug fix out!

  • #5661

Thank you, Sir! You are a true hero! The future generations will sing musics about your acts!

  • #5663

I've begun composing a few ballads in support of this noble effort.  Merely suggestions, you understand.

  • #5660

You are our hero. I posted a donation to show my appreciation and suggest that others do so as well. Addon developers give many hours of their time, endure rants, and put up with all of us. Please folks, give them something in return!

  • #5664

Thanks for the kind words and donation! Next hero class in WoW Legion: Addon Developer.  Tremble with fear.  :-P

    Heya,

I too would love DocLithius his suggestion but that's not why I'm posting. After switching to this from Auctioneer, I must say, I love this addon far more; It runs better, it runs faster, it has less excessive features in it that I'll never use and it hasn't disconnected me once during scanning.

The one feature I do miss however, is a more enhanced history panel to see how much I've made of the item. Could you possibly look into a profit/loss tab, and take cancelling of auctions (so the deposit that is lost) into account? Then I'd have everything I need. :D  It'd be nice if it kept track of all the sales, perhaps per week/month and tell me a bit more then Item price: 125g (for example) on 26th of August, since I've started putting so many things on that I don't recall if it even got sold or not.

Ideally, it'd be a tab split in half, something like:

    Profit ------------------ Loss

Materials Sold -----------------Any materials you bought.

Equipment Sold ------------ Any equipment pieces you bought.

Potions  Sold ------------- Any potions you bought.

Pets Sold ----------- Any pets you bought.

    etc ---------- Etc items bought.

------------------ Deposit costs at the end.

With a total profit and total loss bit all the way at the bottom?

Or if you prefer to keep it more simple (or perhaps the above is not possible! No idea.), you could just go with "Sales" as overarching term, though I'd love to see a history of the deposits/purchases made.

Thanks for the feedback and feature request!  I'll be focusing on bug fixes for the next release, but I'm tracking this feature request at https://github.com/jrob8577/AuctionatorAddon/issues/48

  • #5659

Awesome! Really love how you are responding to such inquiries!

No rush at all, I love being able to use this mod to begin with!

  • #5655

There's one feature I've been wanting for this Addon forever.  It's a feature that Auctioneer has that I find incredibly useful, but I don't know how you'd go about coding it exactly...

Whenever you toss an "Item of the X" item up (such as "Quilted Cloak of the Boar" or "Garrish Pants of Divine Intellect"), it would be great if Auctionator did not look for that specific item, but instead looked for "Item of" or just "Item" -- in other words, everything before "of".
What I mean is, if you tossed an item named "Fancy Cowl of the Raider" up, it would be great if Auctioneer automatically ignored the "of the Raider" and just searched for "Fancy Cowl", since there could be an infinite number of those up on the Auction House with an equally-infinite number of suffixes.  This would optimize selling random drops from PvE considerably!

Other than that, this Addon is extremely awesome and considerably more compact than the aforementioned Auctioneer Suite.  Keep up the good work!

I will point out that on the Buy tab you can search for "Fancy Cowl" and see the prices of all the items in that family. Not quite as simple as ignoring the suffix when selling, but then again, sometimes people will specifically NOT want to set a sell price based on all the items in the family but only on the specific item.

  • #5656

Thanks for the suggestion!  I've seen it requested in a few of the comments, and I'm tracking it in the issue tracker as https://github.com/jrob8577/AuctionatorAddon/issues/47.  My focus for the near future is to fix reported bugs, but I'll be happy to look at these feature requests once I've cleaned some of those up.

    Hello :)
(english is not my native language btw, i hope it's well understandable)

I've been using this addon for quite some time now and always liked it very much. I have one question though, regarding selling of items for Xmog purpose.

What happens so far: I do quest, leveling up, and ending up with a bunch of green BoEs items that looks great. Hell yeah it looks so great, people won't pay for the stats, they will buy it for Xmog. Of course, i want to undercut the lowest of the current listed items, so i go to the AH, alt-click my item, see that the lowest 'Bikini skimpy platemail of the monkey" is currently at 1337g13s37c, click again and yay i have it for sale at 1 copper less. Sounds good ? WRONG, because there are already a couple "Bikini skimpy platemail of the tiger" at 669g69s69. So instead i have to go the browsing page, shift-click the items's name, remove the "of the money" part using the backspace key, search, check for the lowest auction and remember it, then go to the selling page, manually enter the price, and well.. that takes alot of time ! Well... not that much actually, but as a wise goblin once told me, "time is money friend !"

So, is there a way to make it disregard the suffix of the item when searching for current prices in the selling tab ?
