About Auditor

Auditor is a nifty addon that tracks your incoming and outgoing money from a variety of sources, and provides an easy to use Data Broker interface to choose whose data you would like to look at, and for what time period. It is, essentially, MoneyFu for those who have obsessive information disorder. Like me. Yes, I *must* know how much I spent on training last week. Why? I dunno. But I must.

PLEASE NOTE: Auditor is now made for LibDataBroker (LDB). A list of LDB Display Addons and other addons using LDB can be found here.

If you use FuBar then just grab Broker2FuBar, and Auditor will merrily show up as it always has done for you, once you have enabled it in the Broker2FuBar options.

Features

  • LDB at last! Yes, your eyes don't deceive you. Probably.
  • Money tracking, and lots of it.
  • Data separated by realm.
  • Character totals.
  • Combined totals.
  • Clickable tooltip to customise what you can and can't see.
  • Ability to look at all your characters' specific data from any of your other characters on that realm.
  • Accounts can be viewed per session, day, last seven days, or in their full, all-time glory.
  • Cash notification options.
  • Optional auto-repairs (per-character preference).
  • Optional auto-sell for grey items (per-realm preference).
  • Time offsets, so you can set Auditor to reset when dailies reset!
  • Many things. Just get it and see!

What does Auditor track?

  • Loot money! Whether you are solo, in a party or in a raid.
  • Vendor money! Stuff you buy from or sell to vendors.
  • Quest money! Money you gain from quests, and money you spend on quests (e.g. the Scholomance Key quest).
  • Trade money! Doing enchants or transmutes? Yep, it catches money exchanged in trade.
  • Mail money! Sending money to/from your alts or friends? Tracked.
  • AH money! At last, both outgoing AND incoming Auction House money is tracked.
  • Training money! How much did you spend on training and respecs? Do you care? Well, you'll know anyway.
  • Flight money! Spent a day flying about Azeroth? See how much you should claim back on your tax expenses.
  • Repairs money! See how much money you really spent on repairing your kit after those instances.
  • Unknown money! Money gained/lost, but for whatever reason, Auditor can't work out where it's from. Better than nothing, anyway.
  • Reconciliation money! That's money for when you just installed Auditor, and it has to account for the cash you have right now, or for when you crashed, or were logged on at a friend's house. It's all good.
  • Guild Bank money! Money you deposit or withdraw from your Guild Bank. Exciting, I know.
  • LFG reward money! Guild contributions money! Reforging money!

When does it track it for?

Auditor tracks your money:

  • Per session.
  • Per day.
  • Per last-seven-days.
  • And all-time.

It's to do with the way the databases are kept. Keeping them separate means that changes to the display part of the addon can never break the actual money data.

It served other purposes back in the mists of time, too!
  • #115
Right now Reforging gets categorized under "Unknown". Is there an easy way to create a new expense category? Otherwise seems to be working fine for me in Cataclysm.
  • #114
Not sure if this is an Auditor problem or other addon. I use MailOpener to empty my mail box and Auditor is picking up auction monies as Mail rather than Auction House.

    Like this Addon,
My only suggestion would be to make it a moveable Icon.
And maybe make the look a Bit different.

But so far, its great :)

Love this AddOn, tried a half-dozen similar others but keep coming back. :)

Though it seems to function just fine, my BugSack does fill up with these error messages (one for everytime I loot coins):

Auditor2-4.0\Core.lua:390: bad argument #1 to 'find' (string expected, got nil)

Anyone else see these, and/or no how to workaround? Thanks!

Is there a way to change the version number?
I don't want to activate unsupported addons because there are some addons that are really not supported yet.
  • #111
    go to the addon file.

open up the .toc in the file into notepad, you will see on line 1
    ## Interface: ?????

    Replace the ????? with 40000
*note the ? shows a random number, i dont know what it was since it already chaged it :P*

    Hope that helps :)

There is. But I think it will mess with Curse's ability to update the addon should it get a true updated version.

But, should you still wish to do so:
    Auditor2

Within this folder you need to open the "Auditor2.toc" file. You should be able to do this with notepad by either right clicking and using "Open With" or just opening notepad, browse for all file types and navigating to the file as described above.

Once inside the file, change "## Interface: 30300" to read "## Interface: 40000" - be sure it's not saving as a txt file when you are done, but holding that .toc extension.

It will now load even when you disable out of date add-ons.

I don't /think/ this one is throwing lua errors right now, but I'm loading some other out of dates so I have a mess of them all the time.

    Thank you both.
And I don't care about the curse updater since I don't use it :)
  • #107
It'd be nice to have auditor also track the amount of gold coming back from the AH that is a result of being outbid. This would help immensely in getting accurate profit amounts. :)

Found no ticket system in the development side, so here it goes:

    - Auto Repairs does't seem to work. It does everything but actually repair the equipment. With that I mean that it even records the money spent, although it isn't really.

Was crushed that this broke with 4.0.1. Thanks for this wonderful addon - I will be sending tons of positive karma your way if you update it!
  • #103
It works fine for me...besides having trouble telling AH from mail.
  • #102
It seems to work fine for me with 4.0.1. :)
  • #104
Same here. I bumped the TOC and it worked fine.

Alarisha - I'm the author of a handful of mods on here, so if you want to make me a maintainer I'd be happy to push an updated TOC and help keep the mod running should it break in the future.
