About Aura Frames

Aura Frames allows you to display any kind of buff or debuff on any given unit with highly customizable filtering, ordering, coloring and animation functionality.

The "engine" behind the screens is the LibAura that is specific written for AuraFrames that provide aura information over all the units and even more. It also include information over internal cooldowns, spell cooldowns, totems, weapon enchantments, testing units and more.

The filtering, ordering and coloring is unique. No addon has ever approach Aura Frames with the way the internal system is working. The most important difference is that Aura Frames is not checking realtime aura's on all properties but is generating real lau code blocks based on filtering, ordering and coloring that are parsed by WoW/Lua and are executed as native lua functions (for non nerds: its fast)!

It supports currently 3 ways of displaying aura's. Button, bar or timeline style.

Supporting the following sources:

  • Buffs and Debuffs on any unit (your self, target, pet etc)
  • Weapon enchantments
  • Spell cooldowns
  • Spell cooldowns of your pet
  • Item cooldowns
  • All internal item cooldowns (with a self learing functionality to detect the cooldown times)
  • Mouse over
  • Test unit
  • Totems
  • Boss Mods (DXE and DBM are currently supported)

Console commands:

  • /af - Open the Aura Frames configuration (also available from the interface menu)
  • /affixdb - Tries to fix your Aura Frames database, use this before /afreset if you have problems (the addon need a /reloadui after this command)
  • /afreset - Will reset your whole database. Use this only if you have big problems

TIP: Shift right click an aura to dump the properties to the chat window. This will help you to create filters. (This only works when an container can be clicked).

* When changing of a sub zone, don't update all containers (which was triggering animations)

    The default Blizzard auras are always displayed unless an addon actively hides it, if Aura Frames is disabled or uninstalled, and it's still not showing then that means that an other addon is actively hiding it.

    Can you mouse over the timeline debuffs to get a description"tooltip" of the debuff or?  I haven't seen an option for it and it'd be nice on certain debuffs that your not familar with the icon to be able to mouse over it.

    Go to the layout page in the configuration for that bar, and select "Container receive mouse events". After that you will see more options appear and you can select "Enable tooltips".

    This is atm not posible and it's a lot of work to implement this. This will not be implemented soon.

    Is there any way to utilize the consolate buffs feature in aura frames?

    With all the raid buffs being paired down to 8 types, the new consolidate buffs option is pretty useful since you can quickly see which buffs are available and which are applied, unlike the old version which just grouped all the raid buffs. If there isn't a way to use it would it be possible for you to add it, if not I understand, it just seems pretty useful now that all the buffs are broken down into 8 types for all classes for MoP.

    Masque support has been added long time ago and should work fine. Could you see if you see Aura Frames in the Masque interface? Could you otherwise make a ticket with the addon versions and a addon list.
