About AutoBar

AutoBar is a Multi-bar mod that automatically adds potions, water, food, quest and other items you specify into buttons for easy use. Does not use up action slots. You can create your own categories of items, dragging items from bags, or spells from spell books into it. You can make custom Buttons that contain 1 or more Custom or Built in categories. You can create custom Bars to organize your Buttons to suit your interface needs. WoW has thousands of items you may obtain. AutoBar automatically organizes frequently used items for you, saving you the drudgery of dragging stuff from your bags to an action bar. Since AutoBar does not use up the limited action slots available, you can save those for your spells and abilities.

All releases will be done on Curse.com and WoWInterface.com so grab it from whichever you prefer.

Please go to http://www.MuffinManGames.com for support. There is a blog there which I will try to keep up to date with the current status.

I think AutoBar needs its Class Bars overhauled. I know there are spells missing and not all of the categories make the most sense. A lot has changed in World of Warcraft since AutoBar was first written. Supporting all of the classes is also a difficult task; see the support topic on Rogue's Instant Poison on MuffinManGames.com for an example. I would not have been able to sort that out without a high-level rogue of my own.

So as an experiment I'm running a Kickstarter to see if I can raise the cash to buy a level boost for the remaining classes that I need: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2075655491/autobar-class-bars-world-of-warcraft-addon

If you would like to support the development, please donate and let others know.

sorry for lack of reply, been working on my own project alil to add some newer stuff to it been experimenting with some ace3.0 stuff and databroker functionality. Anyhow i did enable the class bar on a few more of my toons to check it out a bit more. basically what im saying is this, If there is a button in auto bar which would only ever contain one item in that catagory, then there is no need to have that button, as it can be done simply by having a bar mod like dominos and bartender. It just seems that having these functions is a TON of over kill. Not to mention, things like Stances( seals) there is already added in functionality in things like bartender and Dominos (and even in default UI) for all this stuff. seems there is no need for LARGE portions of this code if its easily enabled elsewhere or in DefaultUI. I know when this addon was made some of this stuff didnt exist but it is there now, and removing this stuff would definatly clean up alot of code and probably put making this addon into an ace3 setup instead of the ace2 platform it is currently based on.

I also found that the problem seems to have gone away.  Delete the "AutoBar.lua" and "AutoBar.lua.bak" from your /World of Warcraft/WTF/<account name>/SavedVariables folder to fix this issue, I guess.

Strange issue I've run into the past week (actually for both myself and my wife), I've deleted settings and made sure add-ons are up to date.

There seems to be a clash with something about Bartender 4.  Settings are the same for every toon, and everything works fine if only autobar is selected.  But once Bartender 4 is loaded is bugs out for all toons but one.  The Basic and Extras bars work perfectly on that toon only, but only work for any other toon if you hit the right 'spot', which varies from button to button (Class bars seems to be working fine).  I know it's a strange thing to put here since it works fine on it's own, but I want to ask somewhere so...

What I can't figure out is why if functions perfectly for that one toon while buggy for others when the settings are exactly the same...even after deleting settings in the WTF folder.  Fresh loadup and the same bug crops up.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

  • #942

That's very odd. I run Bartender along with AutoBar without any issues.  Do you run any other addons that could be affecting things?  Have you tried enabling ONLY Bartender and AutoBar?

  • #944

Huh, everything's fine now.  Deleted settings again this morning for the hell of it and now it works fine with Bartender and my fully array of add-ons.  Lol, it's like taking your car into the shop.   :P

Thanks for your attention to the issue though!

  • #943

Yeah that's the strange part that's got me stumped.  Even when I run ONLY Autobar and Bartender it happens.  Works fine on my main, a druid; but bugs on my hunter, shaman, priest, etc.  The exact same thing happens with my wife too.  Works fine on her main, a pally;  but bugs on other toons (warlock, hunter, etc).  The 'sweet spot' (for lack of a better term) for the buttons is different for each button too.  Could be the upper left corner for the mount button, and be the middle for the potion button, etc.

I'll admit I haven't deleted bartender's settings yet to see if it's something in there, just because it's more intensive to setup than Autobar.  Guess I could try that route though.

    Quest Item buttons

I'm trying to make the Quest Item button work the way the old QuestClicks addon worked - which is all the items were always visible.

I've made a 'QuestItemsButton' that has 'Usable Quest Items' and 'Starts Quest' in its categories. Then I've made a vertical bar and added that button to it.

But, that just puts a single button in the bar, and when I mouse over it, it expands to show all the items. I'd rather it do either:

    1. when I click on the button it toggles them all visible / hidden and it stays that way until I click it again
    2. They are all just always visible

No amount of violently clicking the various 'always show' 'always popup' 'no popup' checkboxes in the button or bar config screens will do what I want though.

  • #938

Sorry, AutoBar isn't designd to do what you want.

Getting this error when trying to do anything with glyphs:

    Date: 2012-09-08 12:28:32
    ID: 1
    Error occured in: AddOn: AutoBar
    Count: 2
Message: Error: AddOn AutoBar attempted to call a forbidden function (CastGlyph()) from a tainted execution path.
    Debug:

    ...terface\AddOns\Blizzard_GlyphUI\Blizzard_GlyphUI.lua:527: GlyphFrameSpell_OnClick()
    [string "*:OnClick"]:1:
    [string "*:OnClick"]:1

Thanks for all your work--this is one of the few addons that I sincerely have trouble playing without.

  • #939

Are you using the latest version?

  • #932

I only see the icon on the minimap but I do not appear to be more bars even when I go into the configuration addon. I have tried many times to delete the file. Bak but nothing happens (I have a hunter).

P.S. thank you very much for your work,

I can help with the translation into Italian

Click the minimap icon to bring up the config. Select the Bars tab. In the listbox on the left of that window there should be 3 bars listed: Basic, Extras and one named for your class. Select each Bar and see if the Enabled checkbox is set. Make sure the Hide checkbox isn't set.

Did you try deleting your settings when you're logged out?

  • #930

A number of people still seem to be having issues with Hunters and Warlocks.  If you have a warlock who's class bar is not showing up and you have:

    - Deleted your settings

    - Enabled ONLY AutoBar

and it's still broken, please post or PM me a link to your character on the wow site so I can see if it's a spec/talent/glyph thing. Unfortunately I don't have a high level hunter to test with, so I'll start with Warlocks.
