About AutoGratz

AutoGratz will automatically say Gratz! to people in your guild or party that say ding, guild mates that get an achievement, or people that whisper ding to you such as friends.

    is there a way you can update this to ignore lvl 85 players who say ding ?

    im having a problem whit the multiple gratz message, when a group win and achiev the addon send only the single message not the multiple message

    As a guild leader of an active leveling guild, I agree in large part with this. The default delay needs to be cranked way back, IMO. Nobody enjoys the incessant generated replies except the lazy disinterested user.  I will ask any users of this addon to throttle it way back, or else it just clutters up legit conversation. While I appreciate the creator's inclusion of the delay settings, this addon as a whole drives me completely bat-crap nuts.  I wish someone would create an addon thats main functionality would be to squelch this one in my guild chat display....   anybody?

    As soon as i have some time, i'll update AG. I'm planning to add "addon messages", which are not readable for anyone, except other addons. This would make it possible to create a 2nd addon, that can hide messages, which are sent by AG. But there's no ETA for that.

    All I can say that this addon is just a bunch of glorified spam. People join my guild and use it to be too lazy to join in with the community in my guild. If you put in a hard coded timer in it that a person using it can ONLY broadcast with it every 5 minutes because I had about 17 people in my guild get about 30 separate achievements and the guild chat was: gz gz gz gz gz gz gz gz gz gz gz gz with some of the normal chat in between and it was hard to follow conversation. And having a hard coded timer in it the person using it cannot spam aimlessly with gratz when they are too lazy to actually TALK to others in the guild. Well you probably are annoyed by my LONG list of achievement/gz so now picture how a guild member feels when it's done in guild chat and they cannot even scroll back to what another person said because such addon gets in the way... so either add a timer into it or I will report this to curse as a spam encouraging type addon. I am a guild leader who is angry at how such addon can just ruin a nice guild's atmosphere because of how it currently functions...

    Do, whatever you like.

    1. Do you know, that those messages are sent from "AutoGratz" and not from a similar addon?

    2. Did you ever install AutoGratz? It does not just contain "a timer" - It contains two timers! People are able to set a delay, when their gratz messages will be sent. A fresh installed version of AutoGratz has a delay between 5 and 8 seconds.

    We're not responsible for any abusive usage of AutoGratz. So, if your guild members are really using AutoGratz, ask them to change the delay to something else (like 10-30 Seconds).

    It's not this addon, who ruined the guild atmosphere. The users are responsible for themselves.

    Hello, i have a couple questions:

     

    1: Is it possible to have multiple grats messages  so it randomly picks one?

     

    2: how can you setup the addon so it grats's someone with their level/achievement

    (Grats (...) on earning the achievement [You just picked your nose])

    (Grats (...) on earning level 56)

    Is it possible to add an option to post in Officer-Channel?

     

    My guild is using the /guild chan for role-playing and the /officer chan for ooc chatting, in wich gratulating for guild members is alowed :)

    1. Yes. Just seperate different messages with a semicolon, i.e:

    Gratz;Congratz;bla...

    2. Sooner or later, i'll add a "template mark" to display the achievement. I'm not going to add the level thing.

    Hi,

    i'm not going to implement a such option, but you could do it for yourself. Open the file AutoGratz.lua in World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\AutoGratz with notepad and find

    self.GuildAchieveHandle = self:ScheduleTimer("SendAchieve", SendDelay, {sender, 2, "GUILD"})

    Change it to:

    self.GuildAchieveHandle = self:ScheduleTimer("SendAchieve", SendDelay, {sender, 2, "OFFICER"})

    Then find

    self.GuildAchieveHandle = self:ScheduleTimer("SendAchieve", SendDelay, {sender, 1, "GUILD"})

    Change it to:

    self.GuildAchieveHandle = self:ScheduleTimer("SendAchieve", SendDelay, {sender, 1, "OFFICER"})

    If you want to change the "Ding" behavior, too, you have to find

    self:ScheduleTimer("SendDing", self.db.profile.Delay3, {sender, "GUILD"})

    and change it to

    self:ScheduleTimer("SendDing", self.db.profile.Delay3, {sender, "OFFICER"})

    I'm using this since it was ready for 4.2 and I love it. But I've found a few bugs and I have a suggestion too.

     

    1. When I wan't to set a new sentence in the options it do not save. I must always edit it in the files manually.

     

    2. Sometimes, in raids, when everyone get an archievement it only says to one "congratulations" and not to all.

     

    3. It would be cool if you can disable some archievement, so that the addon don't congratz for this archievement. (Example: Now in 4.3 you get a archievement, when you get killed by deathwing. And nobody like to get congratzed for death/wipe :P)

    Great addon, absolutely priceless when greeting people for various things even if you are busy doing something else. allthough i miss a few things that would make it even greater.

    1. would be nice with a way to name the achivement they accomplish, not just the name that does it.

    2. when tabbed out of wow and someone gets an achivement the addon greets the player when you tab back into wow wich could be several minutes after. which is a little annoying. please make a addon option for either not greet while tabbed or make it greet as the time set in addon even if tabbed out.. either way is fine ::)

    so you want to be able to customize your responses so it further trivalizes your interaction with your friends? why not a randomly generated sentence that makes it seem like a real live person is taking an interest in thier accomplishments?

    This has already been reported, a few months ago. There's no real workaround for it. WoW does not "work", when minimized.

    I could just try to read the timestamp of the achievement message and compare it with the set delay. But dunno, if i can realize that.

    its understandable if it a difficult way to go for it to work perfectly, maybe the best way if the achivement was ignored if tabbed out. i dont know, in any case keep up the good work. its a nice addon anyway :)
