How about detecting and showing the rep that could be gained from the in range npc's?
I went ahead and added an enhancement ticket for this idea.
This addon isn't updating guild rep for me. I actually did try other addons and they seem to have the same issue.
My guild rep reports as neutral 0/3000
AutoRepSwitch works as expected, there is no problem when you do indeed gain Gilneas rep.
I did notice however that there are some quests (like the new fishing and cooking dailies but probably more) that do award generic "alliance" rep.
That's probably what you were seeing.
I love when things start working and it makes no sense. :)
