Implement (experimental) heuristic detection for illegal (cash) rbg/arena/boost spam, which should have been done a long time ago considering how large the list is now. I didn't think this was going to become the nuisance it did.

hey i just wanted to say that some of them are using /4 now and alot of the raid icons to get by the addon
• #601
Raid icons have nothing to do with BadBoy, post _CCleaner issues on the _CCleaner page. Also, try post a little more detail than just "it doesn't work". /4 tells me nothing.
• #603
I think what he means is that there are gold sellers these days using raid icons to advertise there sites. These gold sellers aren't detected by the addon
• #607
The actual raid icons isn't what's throwing the addon off, it's the shorter messages since I made v5. My v5 plan lasted about a week before they changed up their act. I have something in the works to kill this new stuff off though, until I'm ready to release it I'll try keep up with this new stuff manually.
• #610
Ah, oke, great to hear :) Realy love the addon.

By the way. On a smaller note, I tagged the "Hide 'Complaint Registered.' message", but still getting the report messages in the chat.
Could be something on my side, but not sure.
• #611
You're not the first person to have this issue, I sent you a PM because I want to figure out what the issue is.
• #599
v5.2 adds support for BadBoy_CCleaner v3 and a config for BadBoy_Levels, aswell as the usual anti-spam update.
• #596
I just had something interesting happen to me. Someone with not-terribly-suspicious name, but level 1, whispered me and said "Palladia, are you there?" I said yes and the next thing I saw was a Badboy report. At first I thought it was a false positive, but then I realized that the whisperer had set me up for spam.
• #597
Yup, BadBoy working as intended killing off the "real people" advertisers ;)
• #592
Just curious, my friends sometimes send me tells like "WTS gold", just to mess around, or copy a gold seller/scammer... Will this block him or some other random person if I were to get the message from lets say, a friend, that says "WTS gold please visit xxx.scamsite.org"? Not a big deal just curious.
• #593
Firstly, no one on your friends list can be reported. Secondly, you'd need a lot more suspicious words than just "WTS gold" to get reported.

If I were you, I'd be worrying more about teaching your friend to be more mature than about this addon reporting his immaturity. If you cannot fix that, add them to your friends list.
• #594
I got on here to to say this is an elegant and quite necessary addon IMO, and it seems to be very well coded. But I also need to say something about that "maturity" comment, because I think you took whitak3r's comment wrong. My friends and I do the same exact thing. We're not trying to fool each other into thinking its ACTUAL spam, or just throwing stuff up like junk email (everyone has *that* friend who has to forward every stupid joke or pic). We're making fun of gold sellers and other miscreants: its an in-joke that only MMO players really get. A chunk of badly broken English from Blizzerdadmin asking for your password is often too funny not to share :)
• #595
Mkay well if you're doing this in whispers with people on your friends list you have nothing to worry about, if you're doing it in Trade you obviously run the risk of being reported.

Some people (myself included) would consider people talking about goldspam in trade as irritating as the goldspam itself. That being said, I've yet to see a single one of these irritating people be reported by the addon.
• #588
some gold sellers are getting through, although just the ones that start with the green triangle (or upside down pyramid).
Nice add-on though, does block most so has made it alot easier in the chat channels.

Thankyou
