Im glad that it reports it without me seeing it tbh. It would defeat the whole point of it ot herwise
  • #43
It doesn't, you need to enable that feature :)
  • #39
I'm with chh2. I'd like to see what it's reporting as well. I'd not really like to report someone for talking ABOUT a particular goldspam site, instead of directly advertising for them.

Ok, that made no logical sense, but needless to say, silent removal and/or broad-brush censorship may, in fact, catch innocent people and I'd like the option ...

You know what... forget it, I keep digging myself deeper and deeper.

    *sigh*

Your wish comes true in v3.2!
  • #41
I understand :) the fact is I've been very careful when making BadBoy to strictly avoid "False Positives", in my personal use I've never seen it report falsely. But I am considering a way of adding it in.
  • #53
Thanks for understanding. I was just very tired that night. Or very inebriated, one... possibly both.

Either way ... since SpamMeNot is no longer being updated (possibly) perhaps something of a heuristic type of scan can be done instead of what would need to be a frequently updated blacklist.
  • #54
BadBoy uses a few forms of heuristics scanning, this used to work perfectly but unfortunately the spammers just adapt and sometimes the only safe bet is to add the URL.
  • #38
v3.1.0.0 adds the ability to stop showing a "reported" message, to turn it on, in chat type: /script BADBOY_SILENT = true

Full info in the addon description above here.

    Bonjour ;

Existe-t-il une version FR ? s'il vous plait.

Have you a french version ? Please.

    Sorry for my english
  • #33
BadBoy has french spam filters inside thanks to french players reporting it on the forum. It should work fine on frFR.
  • #35
    Ok cool :)
  • #29
Yes, but how do I know what spam was blocked... There's no way for me to pop up a window and find out...

  • #30
Why should there be? The aim of BadBoy is to be simple, separate the user from the annoyance that is spam so you can play the game. Spam isn't supposed to distract you from playing the game, that's why the only thing you will see is the default blizzard report message.

If I was to add a popup window, I would be making spam interfere with the user, which defies the point of blocking it in the first place.
  • #31
Thanks for adding the POPUP feature. I'm all for blocking spam, but sometimes, at least initially, would like to see the exact comments and spam that is being blocked and reported. It gives me piece of mind that the addon is working as intended, blocking the right things.
  • #34
Hello, the popup feature which is off by default is just the blizzard popup when you report someone manually, so it wasn't hard to add. What I meant by my previous post is I won't be adding any kind of popup which SHOWS YOU the spam.

I think most people are happy with auto reporting.
