About BadBoy_Levels: Filter Whispers By Level
This is a plugin for BadBoy: http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/bad-boy
Main features:
- Hides whispers from players below a specific level.
Only certain people are allowed to whisper you:
- People on your friends list.
- People that are part of your guild.
- People above the level you choose,
Simply, if a "bad" person whispers you, the whisper is blocked (hidden), then you automatically send them a whisper (also hidden) of what level they must be for you to see their whispers.

for some reason levels doesend work i have it on lvl 90 but people stil could whisper me befor it was all fine?
I am trying to use this addon and WIM (http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/wim-3), but when I go to the history viewer to see old whispers I get a lot of:
BadBoy_Levels: ERROR, tell BadBoy author, new frame found: WIM3_HistoryChatFrame
So, I guess this is me telling you about the new frame...
Fixed in v2.96
Looking into this, many thanks for reporting it.
Hi, recently installed your addon, thanks for doing it. I have IHearYouAll installed, and had some confusion when the whisper alert sounded, but had no whisper showing up -- took me a bit to figure out that some level 1 must have whispered. (Hey, I had just installed it)
Just wondering if you'd be open to a mildly more verbose option, as in printing a line like "Badboy_Levels: blocked tell from sublevel player, <playername>"
Are you aware that this addon is not working in battlegrounds? I read in your comments that there is no server-biased code, but I set my filter to lvl 99 so that I wont receive tells from anyone but friends, and currently people in battlegrounds from other servers are still able to message me. I tested it with people from my own realm, outside of a bg, and it works fine. Inside a battleground however, anyone from another server can message me.
Huge Bug!
Squish it please..
Currently, when visiting other servers, players are able to whisper through the addon D: Regardless of level. Had a friend on <Sargeras> invite me to group and while in Elwynn, had one of the random players whisper me! Absoloutely traumatizing, I know! But in all seriouseness Elwynn Forest (Especially the dueling area) can have some players you'd rather avoid and not want to make contact with. So it'd be great if this could some how be worked around before one of those "some" appears.
Unfortunately you've not said anything that would help me reproduce such an issue. There is no server-biased code in _Levels.
I love the new cross-realm zones.. I was just wondering if you had a fix.. sorry then for having asked..
You didn't elaborate on what you meant by "visiting realms", only now have you clearly stated what the problem is, and from what I can tell, you're complaining about the new cross-realm questing zones.
_Levels automatically skips all whispers from other realms as they can't be added to friends. A solution for xrealm probably won't be added (unless I discover something simple one day), the current solution of using the friends list is a hack as it is, and was done as more of a "f u" to Blizzard than anything else for making Who lookups dumb. Blizzard have known for years now (I've been moaning about it) that we need level info from chat (they provide player race, class, sex, etc) and has refused to add it, I don't see why I should bother trying to hack around their game even more to be honest, especially with target scanning.
That's what I was afraid of :\ Well thanks for the timely response- love the addon :X
Perhaps a semi-permeable system? Such as having the addon attempt to target the player whispering you, check their level and if they're below the filter, hide the whisper? Of course- this wouldn't work if they were outside sight range, but it would likely hinder 85% of players on different realms attempting to whisper you, as there only way to do so is to right click your portrait and select "Whisper" Or Whisper you via the General/LocalDefense channel IF you have spoken in it.
Of course you'd attempt to target then resume your previous target, just as swiftly as it currently adds players to friends list and then removes. This is all assuming you're able to detect a players level through targeting in "code" language. I'm not a coder, so if your looking for a codec solution I can't offer it :( Just a suggestion though.
The reproduce part of your response makes me think that you arnt able to test this bug, perhaps your server doesn't have cross realm- while the second part made me think solutions. So sorry if I miss-interpreted when I wrote out the above solution.
Execution tainted by BadBoy_Levels

Wasn't sure if I should open up a ticket on the project site or not.
Nothing to do with BadBoy_Levels, it's just being incorrectly blamed for poor Blizzard code.
Thanks for the update.
I've always used cellular, so look forward to seeing the behaviour change.
Even if I set the filter level to 20, I still see lvl 1 retards spamming in trade chat.
