Q: How do i access the Configuration?
A: You can open the configuration with the Slash Commands (/bt or /bartender) or through the Bartender4 LDB plugin.

Q: Can Bartender4 import settings from Bartender3?
A: No. Those two mods are too different to be able to import settings.

Q: Where are my keybindings? And how do i bind new keys?
A: BT3 Keybindings will not be ported over either, you have to use the new KeyBound to re-bind your keys. You can access KeyBound by its slash command (/kb) or through the button in the BT4 config. Hover a button, press key → voila!

Q: CyCircled Support? I like my button skins? :(
A: No reason to cry! There is a sparkling new skinning addon/library out there! ButtonFacade is way easier to work with as a action-bar author, and its easier to write skins for it too! Alot of cyCircled Skins have already been ported to ButtonFacade, and more are on their way! After installing ButtonFacade just use its configuration to change the skin of the BT4 buttons (/bf)

Q: How do i disable the snapping of the bars?
A: Currently, you can temporarily override the snapping by holding down the Shift Key while moving your bars, or uncheck the option in the popup when your bars are unlocked.

How would I go about stopping bartender from over writing the original UI rep/xp bar? Un-enabling bartender's xp doesn't bring it back. I've tried editing the LUA files but I can't find the right lines to edit/delete. I deleted the LUA files .../Bartender4/RepXPBar.lua and .../Bartender4/Options/RepXPBar.lua

Then I edited the file .../Bartender4/Bartender4.lua
    I deleted the lines

It didn't work however. I can't find any other mention in any of the LUA files about the xp bar.

Hey and thanks for a GREAT addon.

Did some changes today, started using switching. To make it simple, I switch from bar one to bar two using shift. All the slots are keybound, 1 2 3 4 and shift 1 shift 2 shift get what I mean.

Everything worked beautifully for half an hour, I was happy.

All of a sudden( yes, in a boss fight) bar two "inherited" the spells of bar one, they kind of became the same.

After some messing around I fixed it, the bars now looks like they should. The switching works fine. Now I can't get the keybindings to work. Bar one is bound as it should and in the keybinding list bar two should be bound with shift but it isn't. When I rebind it it doesn't bind, keeps the bindings of bar one and therefore simply doesn't work.

I have reloaded ui, relogged, restarted, reinstalled. At my wits end.
    Ideas anyone?

Sounds to me like you might have managed to somehow trick the -default- blizzard UI into thinking you are on tab 2 of your spells. Like, think on the basic blizz UI how you can cycle through those 6 tabs via shift+button. (I think it is anyway, never really used it much.)

Well, if you've ever done like me and loaded your default UI after using bartender to set up your buttons, you'll notice that bartender is essentially taking those 6 stacked tabs (plus the 4 for left/right and bottom 1&2) and giving them to you in a rearrangable format.

So what I'd suggest is load up your character with bartender disabled. Look at your main spellbar. See if it is switched to the second set (there is a set of arrows on the right of it along with a number). If the number is 2 and you're seeing your spells from bar 2, then simply switch it back to bar 1 and all should be fixed.

I'd also recommend if you're using the shift key as your modifier that you don't have blank buttons on your number bar (you might accidentally try to shift one of those blank buttons and confuse the default UI into doing what it's supposed to do by nature) OR you can go into your keybindings and I'm sure there is an option in there somewhere to change the shortcut for switching your bar tabs.

    Hope this helps! ^.^

When I hop in a Vehicle, Bar #1 is where all the Abilities that vehicle has shows up, and not the Pet Bar.

    key bindings)

Other than that it's great and very flexible
  • #1326
somehow the UI fragment is still affecting me upon switching specs even though I've updated to the latest version. Anyone has got the same problem?
  • #1329
Same problem here. Or rather, when I switch specs, I get the default XP bar as an artifact lying pasted on top of all my other stuff. A /reloadui fixes the problem though, and I haven't noticed any other artifacts.
  • #1325
im having a problem with pet action bar.

when i have my pet active the default action bar for my pet is in the spot where it would be without bartender. it blocks my chat box and some of my other bars, its really annoying.
  • #1324
I'll start off with great addon and thank you for keeping it updated! =)

The biggest problem i have is with the totem bar. I've found out that if i die in combat and come back, it doesnt let me change my totem sets or any totems on the bar. reloading the ui fixes this. another thing is in combat, i cant change totems or sets, which is a huge disadvantage in pvp and pve as well. Please fix these problems as soon as you can and thanks again for the hard work you put in to Bartender. =)
  • #1319
I'm not sure what Cowtip and Bartender have in common but both of the addons (individually) prevent me from changing individual totems during combat.
  • #1318
OOOPS! I should have mentioned, the shift ONLY affects the totem bar.
  • #1317
I just had to install 4.4.0 again after the patch to get the totem bar to work, and now the icons are offset from the green bar outline when the bars are unlocked. They appear to be shifted left and up a bit. More of a cosmetic issue than anything else, doesn't effect usage.
  • #1316
Wow, one patch you people loose brain cells that fast? Haven't you all tried to reload the UI, turn on the mod, or to copy a profile from another character? You all can't be that dense. Come on people use that noodle you all call a brain. I know you all can!
  • #1322
sure, after I reload my UI, everything is fixed, but the point of having a working addon is to not have to do that EVERY TIME I SWITCH MY SPEC.
  • #1315
    All my set-up with the bars are gone :*( :*( :*( :*(
    - What am I supposed to do !?
I hate setting them up again s; hehe
  • #1312
My UI freaks out when I change to a secondary spec, the rep bar pops up, the micro menu disappears and I get an unmovable duplicate pet bar. Class: Hunter
