About Battle Pet - Quality Notifier
What's It do?
Simply displays some information about the wild pet in your chat window.
It displays
- The quality / rarity of the wild pet
- If the pet species is an upgrade in quality (Upgrade)
- If you don't have that species (Not Owned)
- World tooptips show what you currently have in journal when mouseover wild pets. This includes quality and level
Command Line settings: (1.3.0)
- /bpqn display default - Display text in the default chat window
- /bpqn display current - Display text in the current or active chat window

11/30 6:25 US Central time - I keep "Updating" but WoW continues to say it is out dated?? What do I need to do??
NEVERMIND - I just noticed that this has not been updated since sometime last October. Wonder when it will get updated? I really loved it.
I highly prefer this addon to Bliz's version, especially the notification if the pet is an upgrade. Please do keep this one updated!
Looks like LibPetJournal-2.0 (which this uses) is what is causing this to break - when that gets updated then I think this one can be.
As a collector I really liked the simplicity and unobtrusive nature of this addon.
As of 5.1 pet IDs were converted to GUIDs and functions renamed to reflect this fact.
I would prefer this addon too. The ingame Blizzard UI shows only how many pets you have, nothing about the quality. I don't understand why it is so difficult for Blizzard to give us this information?

Why is it saying I have 1 of 3 of a wild pet and also saying "none"
I believe that the 1/3 refers to the fact that you can only have 3 copies of a certain pet -- except for unique pets (like store bought ones), which only allow 1 copy.
So, if the addon is working correctly -- it should show you how many out of the 3 you have -- if you have none, it will say that.
This what happening the Blizzard UI elements that were added in 5.1 now show number collected on mouse over however the Blizzard element doesn't give qualities and BPQ just says none so you can not see your quality without opening the pet window.
The in battle reports for qualities are working, I'm unsure if the "upgrade" part are working as the pets I've been battling right now I already have blue qualities so "upgrade" would not be shown anyway.
I will take some screenshots when I get round to it.
Can confirm that the fix given in #66 works just add the changes to the petbattlequalitynotifier.lua
I believe the 1/3 is from the changes to the Blizzard UI, and this addon is what's reporting "none". The Blizzard changes are fine, but I need to know how many of what quality and level I have, not just whether I have any, which is why this addon matters.
Tooltip is reporting 0 pets collected of any given type, even if a pet of that type was just captured (I did some experiments). Apparently it is not reading its list of already-caught pets correctly due to the changes Blizzard made in the last patch.
Tooltip is broken, but the chat is correct... Love this addon, please update it! :)
No longr works with the new game update, Tried reinstalling it. Hope it will be working soon.
