About Benny Images Show

All this simple and lightweight addon does is to play the Benny Hill Show theme when you cast "Mirror Image", "Army of the Dead", or write/macro the command "/benny play".

Commands: As stated, "/benny play" plays the music. Use "/benny disable" to disable the mod in-game, "/benny enable" to re-enable it.

Enjoy!

  • Music file renamed from benny.mp3 to BIS_YaketySax.mp3 to avoid conflicts
  • TOC updated
  • ACE libraries updated

I did not change the theme from the benny hill to the A-Team one. I don't know what happened.
I updated the package, changing the name of the music file. Try the new version then let me know if you still hear the A-Team theme.

It is NOT the Benny Hill theam. It is, the theam from the "A-team".

So how do I thrn the A-team theam off? I tried deleting it from my PC, and the "/benny disable",  nether worked.

    HELP!

I used to love this addon. "Yakety Sax" (the name of the Benny Hill song) never failed to bring a smile to my face. Mirror Image was suddenly awesome!

I updated it, and now it plays the A-Team theme song when ever I do Mirror Image. I can't figure out how to make it go back to play Yakety Sax. I don't have the ateam addon installed, and never would.

    Notes:

    - Disabling the Benny addon at startup stops the ateam from running.

    - If I enable the Benny addon at startup, it plays the a-team on Mirror Image. /disable benny does *not* disable A-Team.

    - The contents of the BennyImagesShow directory is:
    AceAddon-3.0.lua
    AceTimer-3.0.lua
    Benny.mp3
    BennyImagesShow.lua
    BennyImagesShow.toc
    BennyImagesShow.xml
    LibStub.lua
    WowMatrix.dat

I clicked on the Benny.mp3 and it plays Yakety Sax, like it should.

    - I was thinking if I could delete the a-team sound file, it would default to Benny. However, a recursive search for "ateam" "A-team" and simply "team" in the World Of Warcraft directory yielded no results. Where is the a-team file?

    How do I fix this?

Probably a name collision. See if the last version fixes the issue.

I know this is kind of a different functionality, but me and my guildies have had a few benny hill music add-ons before and none did what we wanted the most:

Play the Benny Hill theme when the Raid Leader or Raid Assist thinks we're wiping!! xD

So... The add-on would wait for the RL our RA to trigger something and the music would play to everyone using the add-on xD
We used to have something similar, but everyone could trigger by saying some word, so it was just too abused...

Any chance you'd implement something fun like that? xD

OMG, awesome idea!!! I'll add a command to trigger benny music for every player in the raid. xD
Do you think it's better if only the raid leader can trigger it, or I can let every raid member with the assistant status?
  • #21
Hehe! I'm glad you liked it! If the RL can trigger the music to everyone that has the add-on, in the raid, I'd be a very happy man! xD

And that is a good question... I suppose if I am leading a raid and promote a few ppl to assist, I trust them enough for one task or another. But sometimes it's just to let a paladin set Pally Power, or for the tanks to be able to RW... Or for someone to just help with raid invites. It could lead to some abuse as in playing the music too much if all the Assists could trigger it. But if it isn't played, there are no consequences anyway. So I would leave the decision just for the Raid Leader.

I know this feature would be awesome for the lols: It's all for fun. So if it's possible to have an option (set by the RL only) to allow the Assists to trigger it or not, great! But if it's complicated to make such an option set by RL only (but affecting all the clients...) then don't bother with it. Simple might be the best way to go: Trigger being activated only by the Raid Leader.

Honestly, anything will do. The thought of making wipes a bit more fun with that music is tickling me.
Are you planning to implement that, then?
  • #23
Yes, I do. I'm quite busy coding my other addon, but this comes next in queue.

    Any luck?

can you get this to work on a druid's treants?
  • #18
Sure, I'll add it next time I update the TOC number. BTW, you can easly add it by yourself creating a macro like this:

    /cast Force of Nature
    /benny play

This addon increases my casting by 50% coolness!

    Thanks Benny Hill!

This never gets old. It's better than a bar mod for tracking time as well in my opinion.
