About Bitten's SpellFlash: DK

This module flashes suggested spells for all three DK specs. You can find *lots* more information on its website.

If you download using the Curse Client it will come with everything you need. If you download your addons manually, you must also get SpellFlash.

Please see the FAQ before posting a question. If that doesn't address your issue, or you have a suggestion to improve this addon, please either leave a comment or create a ticket.

Bitten's SpellFlash modules replace Blizzard's default proc highlighting to flash the button you should press next to achieve maximum dps on a boss fight. Or if you are a tank, to maximize your survivability. For healers, they are just slightly smarter proc highlighters. Dps modules follow or are similar to priority schemes found in SimulationCraft and/or Icy Veins. Sometimes you have to be smarter than SpellFlash, e.g. when saving a cooldown for a specific boss mechanic, but in general following the recommendations will improve most people's performance.

Some modules have AoE modes. Check the descriptions of each rotation to see if one is available for the spec(s) you use.

Try the beta of Bitten's SpellFlash Library - it should now put a red border around those spells when you have procs.

<Edit:> It is no longer necessary to install a beta, just update normally.

Thanks! Addon is literally perfect now. Laughing I love it! It's great to have a reminder for Soul Reaper and your diseases. Keep up the good work!

Is it intended that Horn of Winter Flash when the spell is up ? During fight rotations (frost) it often flashes when I start into a fight, even though i just cast it

  • #137

It is a low priority spell (number 10 or 11 in the lists above) because if you don't have anything better to do you can cast it for the 10 runic power it grants.

It is prioritizing howling blast (10) over obliterate (8). During testing my dps i had a break and howling blast was flashing. after a few seconds it swith to obliterate. nothing happened during that time i stood there auto attacking. Of course i did more tests than 1. i kept doing it so i had no runic power for FS to interfere and KM wasnt procing. Basically no runic power. no KM. diseases up. even when KM did proc HB keeps on flashing for a few seconds then switches to obliterate

    this is frost DW btw

For me, it will flash Howling Blast until 2 Unholy runes are available, then switch to Obliterate, as intended.  Were you watching the state of your runes?

yes all my runes were up the whole time and obliterate was lit up to show i had the runes to cast it.

Really nice work! Keep it up!

I really like your spellflash mods they are very helpful. Is there a Pack of all you SF mode we can down load all at once?

  • #131

I'm glad you like them!  There is not a pack like that.  The easiest way I know of is to use the Curse Client, go to the "Get More Addons" tab, type "Bitten" into the search box, and start clicking the "INSTALL" buttons.  That should be pretty painless.  Wink

Is flash for Plague Leech not included in Blood spec?

  • #128

It is not, but that would be a good idea.  Use it simply when Outbreak is off cooldown, yes?  (And it will actually work, of course.)

Well, that would be true unless you got it glyphed (No CD but 40 runic power on Outbreak)

Good point.  I did not account for that w/ Frost & Unholy.

As of the last update the button flash when something procs no longer works.
