About Bitten's SpellFlash: Druid

This module flashes suggested spells for all four Druid specs. You can find *lots* more information on its website.

If you download using the Curse Client it will come with everything you need. If you download your addons manually, you must also get SpellFlash.

Bitten's SpellFlash modules replace Blizzard's default proc highlighting to flash the button you should press next to achieve maximum dps on a boss fight. Or if you are a tank, to maximize your survivability. For healers, they are just slightly smarter proc highlighters. Dps modules follow or are similar to priority schemes found in SimulationCraft and/or Icy Veins. Sometimes you have to be smarter than SpellFlash, e.g. when saving a cooldown for a specific boss mechanic, but in general following the recommendations will improve most people's performance.

Some modules have AoE modes. Check the descriptions of each rotation to see if one is available for the spec(s) you use.

  • Guardian: Uses Healing Touch as a "mitigation" cooldown when Dream of Cenarius is up.
  • Guardian: Savage Defense and Frenzied Regeneration are now flashed to overlap freely, since rage generation supports it easily.
  • All: Flashes WoW's 9th Anniversary Celebration Package.

  • Guardian: Don't flash Thrash at its higher priority for Weakened Blows when in damage mode.

  • Guardian: Damage mode is now linked with the hidden option to toggle it in groups (see the website for more info).
  • Guardian: Berserk and Incarnation are now top priority cooldowns in damage mode.
  • Guardian: Might of Ursoc is now only used for its heal; other cooldowns may now flash while it is up.
  • Guardian: Frenzied Regeneration no longer flashes when its buff is already up (from the glyph).

Version 3.2.2

  • Feral: Improved the condition to switch back to Cat Form when Rip is expiring.
  • Restoration: Healing Touch and Regrowth now flash small when neither Harmony nor Clearcasting are up.

  • Feral: Improved the condition preventing the suggestion for Bear Form if the time on Rip is getting low.
  • Feral: Faerie Fire now flashes in Bear Form when the debuff is down.
  • Feral: Skull Bash now flashes in Bear Form.
  • Feral: Maul no longer flashes if its cooldown will not be up by the time you should shift back to Cat Form.
  • Feral: Healing Touch and Renewal now flash in Bear Form when you can use the heal.
  • Feral: Healing Touch no longer flashes when you need a heal if casting it could cause your energy to cap.
  • Feral: Added Qiang the Merciless to the no-Shred list.
  • Feral & Guardian: Now anticipates rage from Primal Fury.
  • Restoration: Added Force of Nature flashing.
  • Restoration: Bugfix for a Lua error.

Version 3.1.0

  • Feral: Added an AoE rotation.
  • Feral: Added predictive flashing for Maul if it will be available just before swapping to Cat Form.
  • Feral: Played around with Bear Form and its abilities against trivial mobs.
  • Feral & Guardian: Other spells will no longer get confused when Maul is queued.
  • Guardian: Rage predictions account for 4pT15 (very minor impact on flashing).

    WHen does this mod become useful?  Does it really require level 85 or is it smart enough to know what the possible rotations are at lower levels?

    Since your update of BittensSpellFlashLibrary-2.13.0, you get 2 errors with the druid one


    Interface\AddOns\BittensSpellFlash_Druid\Spells.lua:11: attempt to call field 'Init' (a nil value)

    2.13.0 is old.  I made a mistake and it was treated as the latest release for a little while this morning.  3.3.2 is actually the latest release and should be treated as such if you download again, or refresh your list in the Curse Client.

    The best suggestion I can offer is to install the Curse Client and use that to download & install your addons with one click (and then updating them will also be just as easy).  If for some reason you don't want to do that I guess you could google something like "how to install wow addon".

    I have version 1.0.1 of Druid module

    when in combat, the spell Feral Charge flashes constantly - even though I am in melee range

    That is to remind you to run out of melee range & charge back in, to activate Stampede.  There is a new version coming very soon that will make sure you actually have the Stampede talent first (among many other improvements).

    "Ferocious Bite: If you have 5 combo points, and the addon estimates that you'll be able to generate enough to refresh Rip and Savage Roar when needed."

    This seems a little bugged in the latest release 1.0.1(?). I often end up at 5 combo points and the addon tells me to use shred instead of fercious bite, even tho rip(10+ sec) and savage roar has plenty of time remaining. Is this working as intended? The addon honestly *never* tells me to use ferocious bite if it isn't during berserk.

    I have changes to the kitty cat rotation coming soon.  Hopefully it will be an improvement.  I just have to get this Balance stuff worked out first.  Stay tuned.

    <Edit:> Done!  I think the cat rotation is much improved.  I am now reasonably close with the best dps in my guild, even though Cat is my off-off spec (following Resto first, then Bear).

    Ah I see.  Yes the problem is that the rotations are designed for when you are in a group.  Unfortunetly for you, the cat rotation changes a lot between solo and group play (e.g. you Shred in a group, but Mangle when solo).  My Rogue module now accounts for these differences - this one may at some point, too.  But for now I'm sorry to say, this will not be much use to you unless you are in a dungeon.
