About Bitten's SpellFlash: Hunter

This module flashes suggested spells for all three Hunter specs. You can find *lots* more information on its website.

If you download using the Curse Client it will come with everything you need. If you download your addons manually, you must also get SpellFlash.

Please see the FAQ before posting a question. If that doesn't address your issue, or you have a suggestion to improve this addon, please either leave a comment or create a ticket.

Bitten's SpellFlash modules replace Blizzard's default proc highlighting to flash the button you should press next to achieve maximum dps on a boss fight. Or if you are a tank, to maximize your survivability. For healers, they are just slightly smarter proc highlighters. Dps modules follow or are similar to priority schemes found in SimulationCraft and/or Icy Veins. Sometimes you have to be smarter than SpellFlash, e.g. when saving a cooldown for a specific boss mechanic, but in general following the recommendations will improve most people's performance.

All the rotations implement automatic AoE switching though the detection can sometimes be a touch off.

Better focus management for BM Arcane Shot

Now, instead of just keeping a static pool of 64 focus at all times we
are willing to actually spend down further, based on being able to
regenerate enough focus naturally that we can hit the next important
ability when it is off cooldown.

This generally provides slightly smarter focus management, without
either starving or pooling unnecessarily.

When solo, Mend Pet at 80 percent, not 50 percent

Turns out that the much more conservative approach to using Mend Pet is
sensible in dungeons, but it means that tanking pets end up dying way
more often than they should when faced with level 100+ mobs -- and
non-tanking pets are even worse off.

Using Mend Pet more frequently in this situation means that you are much
less likely to get dangerously low in health and see burst damage take
them out, in turn improving performance.

Since the spell is optional, this also doesn't force a rotation change
on anyone.  (Not that most hunters have pets any longer, but whatever.)

    many thanks for your efforts

So, that turned out to be way, way easier that it used to be -- I was scared off by the complexity of the Steady Shot buff in pre-6.0, but that went away and left a rather trivial rotation instead. So, done. Now all three specs should be good to go.

Which means, of coures, there are doubtless places the rotation can be improved.  Let me know what they are through tickets at http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/bitten-common/create-ticket/ please!

SV and BM hunter rotations should be good in the current release.  I hope to have MM done by the end of the weekend.

retop1's fix worked for me, if combined with Goose007's fix from an earlier version.

To use version 60000.6 insert this line into src\Rotations.lua before line 4,

    local g = BittensGlobalTables

    Worked for me anyway.

guys, 60000.11 is working fine, just replace original file Rotations.lua in .\BittensSpellFlash_Hunter\src\ folder with this fix and wait for the next version  ----- http://pastebin.com/PX0Cfk2G

  • #221

    tried and not working

  • #218

Can't wait until you've got it working again! I'll keep using 60000.7 until then...

Thanks for being awesome enough to do this for EVERY.SINGLE.CLASS!

  • #215

lovre your work but lately its been meh, test before release its the bliz way!

  • #216

It happens, I for one would prefer to know that it's being worked on (mistakes and all) rather than just sit around with no updates at all wondering if it's still on someones radar.

p.s.  Testing may be the "bliz way" but they also make mistakes, even with testing.  Gotta cut Slippycheeze some slack, they're working their butt off to get these mods up and running for everyone while probably trying to enjoy the game some themself.
