About Bitten's SpellFlash: Hunter

This module flashes suggested spells for all three Hunter specs. You can find *lots* more information on its website.

If you download using the Curse Client it will come with everything you need. If you download your addons manually, you must also get SpellFlash.

Bitten's SpellFlash modules replace Blizzard's default proc highlighting to flash the button you should press next to achieve maximum dps on a boss fight. Or if you are a tank, to maximize your survivability. For healers, they are just slightly smarter proc highlighters. Dps modules follow or are similar to priority schemes found in SimulationCraft and/or Icy Veins. Sometimes you have to be smarter than SpellFlash, e.g. when saving a cooldown for a specific boss mechanic, but in general following the recommendations will improve most people's performance.

Some modules have AoE modes. Check the descriptions of each rotation to see if one is available for the spec(s) you use.

  • All: Mend Pet now flashes with low priority during combat, unless your pet drops below 50% health, when it will flash as before.

  • Beast Mastery: Removed flashing for Barrage. Using it single target seems to be a dps loss now.
  • Beast Mastery: Bumped up the priority on Rapid Fire a little.
  • All: Added flashing for Growl, Cower, Last Stand and Bullheaded.
  • All: Bugfix - Powershot and Barrage were flashing even while they were being cast.

  • Marksmanship: Better tracking of when the next shot will trigger Improved Steady Shot.
  • Marksmanship: Tighter tracking of the Chimera Shot cooldown and Improved Steady Shot buff.
  • Marksmanship: Better tracking of travel times and how that affects when Serpent Sting will be refreshed.
  • All: All spells are now considered for their rotation if the *will* be available by the time your current and queued spells are complete, regardless of whether they are available now.

    Just another plea for this mod to be updated :-) I boosted a Hunter and this was a HUGE help for me. I definitely rely on this mod to get up to speed. Hoping it gets updated!

    I would like to know if this will be updated as well. I updated almost all other addons from series :( While its not necessary this addon was very helpfull in reminding me about long cd spells. My main is hunter and im just back after 4 months break from WoW and it would be nice to have this to learn the new rotations.

    Any news as to weather or not this add on was taken over feeling a bit lost with the patch today and not hearing any recent news makes me a bit sad and nervous. Hopefully the add on for hunters and all the other classes have been picked up would hate to see such a good add on go.

    Any chance you could add steadyshot to the rotation on Beast Mastery until the player gets to Cobra shot?

    It should be doing that already.  Please verify that you have the latest version of the addon, and if you do then I'll quick get a new hunter to level 10 to try it out myself.  :)

    This addon doesn't take into account that you need to refresh Serpent Sting with Cobra Shot.

    I know my rotation perfectly but it's just annoying. I am using BM spec.

    The rotation should be taking that into account.  You can see it is the number 2 priority listed on the website.  Are you seeing a bug with that?

    Ok, I don't quite understand why this has yet to flash on a lock and load proc - in fact, it won't flash at all on explosive shot or black arrow.  It constantly flashes for me to use arcane shot and cobra shot.  I think it's a bit confused with the 4pc set and thrill of the hunt.

    With countershot now on the action bars of every survival hunter in existance, do you suppose the Counter Shot spell can be added in to help with interupting just like it is for Wars, DKS and others?
