About Bitten's SpellFlash: Monk

This module flashes suggested spells for all three Monk specs. You can find *lots* more information on its website.

If you download using the Curse Client it will come with everything you need. If you download your addons manually, you must also get SpellFlash.

Bitten's SpellFlash modules replace Blizzard's default proc highlighting to flash the button you should press next to achieve maximum dps on a boss fight. Or if you are a tank, to maximize your survivability. For healers, they are just slightly smarter proc highlighters. Dps modules follow or are similar to priority schemes found in SimulationCraft and/or Icy Veins. Sometimes you have to be smarter than SpellFlash, e.g. when saving a cooldown for a specific boss mechanic, but in general following the recommendations will improve most people's performance.

Some modules have AoE modes. Check the descriptions of each rotation to see if one is available for the spec(s) you use.

unusable in raids, but our test was not yet updated -- so we missed
piles of damage we could have generated, darn it.

    Heya, I updated all your addons this evening and rcvd this error while running a 5-man dungeon a few minutes ago.  I was in Mistweaver spec at the time.

    Love the addon as it's been remarkably helpful but I have a quick question. Is it possible to modify Spellflash or install an additional component that will allow me to specify that the icons flash in the middle of my screen? I typically hide my hot bar to improve screen real estate and other various reasons so it'd be nice to tie the next ability in line to a presentable icon mid-screen. Thanks!

    Well - yes - it is possible ... but nobody has created it.  Other rotation helper addons use an icon like that instead of flashing the buttons, but I have not used any of them so I cannot be any more specific than that.

    You are not the first person to ask for something like that.  Maybe some day I'll take that on as a little project - but I have plenty of other projects right now.

    Question, I noticed there is an aoe rotation mentioned in the description for the monk spell flash addon. I was wondering if you could update the description to include what the priority is for the rotation (like you wrote for the single target rotation). I am mainly wondering if it maintains the debuff from dizzying haze and the dot from breath of fire while missing in single target abilities as lower priority. Thanks!

    Wow - this comment is a month old!  Sorry for the delay.  I vaguely remember reading it before, but apparently it got lost in my inbox.  As I transition the detailed rotation descriptions to a new website, I'll be sure to expand on the AoE rotation for Monks.

    To answer your question, it does maintain Dizzying Haze, but it does not flash Breath of Fire, instead using Spinning Crane Kick because it generates Chi.

    Great addon, has really helped me learn the Windwalker rotation.

    One question I have, does it support the Ascension talent that adds the one extra Chi? It seems like at times it's telling me to cast my Chi builders even when I have 3 Chi. Thanks!

    It automatically adjusts for whether you have Ascension.  It should never tell you to use Jab or Expel Harm if you have 3 or more chi (4 if you have Ascension).  Do you have any more info about when you're seeing that happen to help me find out why?

    Are you seeing a problem with the most recent version?  If so, what exactly is going wrong, and for which spec?  I mean - is tiger palm itself continuing to flash, or is there some other symptom you're seeing?

    I am testing the rotation on a target dummy and my Guard Ability never flashes.  I have forced myself to get 4 combo points yet it still wont flash.  EB will, but is there a way i can make Guard flash?

    Thank you for the report!  It was still waiting for Power Guard to stack to 3, which it doesn't do anymore since 5.1.0.  I made the fix and released a new version.  Let me know if anything else crops up.
