About Bitten's SpellFlash: Pally

This module flashes suggested spells for all three Paladin specs. You can find *lots* more information on its website.

If you download using the Curse Client it will come with everything you need. If you download your addons manually, you must also get SpellFlash.

Please see the FAQ before posting a question. If that doesn't address your issue, or you have a suggestion to improve this addon, please either leave a comment or create a ticket.

Bitten's SpellFlash modules replace Blizzard's default proc highlighting to flash the button you should press next to achieve maximum dps on a boss fight. Or if you are a tank, to maximize your survivability. For healers, they are just slightly smarter proc highlighters. Dps modules follow or are similar to priority schemes found in SimulationCraft and/or Icy Veins. Sometimes you have to be smarter than SpellFlash, e.g. when saving a cooldown for a specific boss mechanic, but in general following the recommendations will improve most people's performance.

Some modules have AoE modes. Check the descriptions of each rotation to see if one is available for the spec(s) you use.

Improve Eternal Flame handling

It should now flash much more appropriately, and avoid overwriting
itself with a weaker version.

Drop Seal of Truth for Prot, after the nerf

Use Seal of Truth as Prot, when solo, for extra DPS

This is a smart implementation: as soon as you start hurting, it will
strongly suggest flipping back to insight, but generally while questing
you end up without substantial pain -- making the extra DPS, small as it
is, worth it.

Implement high contrast flash mode for Pally

Since so many spells are yellow/gold in color, the default white/yellow
flashing is actually super-hard to see.  This uses the new rotation
flash color feature from the library to allow users to opt-in to a high
contrast option for Pally, which has a pink/purple flash color that is
much higher contrast with the sea of gold that pally spells present.

Add prot pre-combat flashing

Also, clean up various luacheck warnings, like unusual variables and args.

The english translation of that error message is "Dependancy Missing."  Please see the FAQ under "Which dependency is missing and where do I get it?"

    Hey Xemnosyst, what's up?

I'm using "Bitten's Spellflash" for all 11 classes and I really like this addon. And I'm a computer scientist. So... I wanna help to keep these addons on WoD.
    Just contact me, please...

Thank you for creating these addons :)

    PM sent.

Xemnosyst can you please tell us which mods you will no longer developing.  please

  • #152

I don't want to continue with any of them.  One developer has agreed to take over for DK, Shaman and Hunter.  All the rest are currently unspoken for.

I appreciate the support you've given this addon over the years. I for one since Cataclysm with the introduction of Holy Power felt quite lost trying to relearn my class and this addon made a breeze playing it once again. Best of luck to you in the future, and I hope that before WoD launches you will have found a suitable successor for the project. In the eventuality that you don't, I humbly ask that you at least consider supporting at least this module. Thank you.

I do not wish to continue developing this addon for the next expansion, so I am looking for another developer to take over.  Please contact me if you are interested and have strong software skills!

What mod are you using to get your spells to be in a box like that? I mean instead of the bars.

  • #148

    Bartender.  See here.

Is it possible to make the 4piece Divine Storm proc Flash rather than just highlight it with a red border? Divine Purpose is highlighted with a red border as well and it's fairly difficult to tell what is an empowered 4piece Divine Storm over a Divine Purposed Templars Verdict.

  • #145

It should be flashing.  Note that there are 2 priorities above it, which you can see on the website.  Is that broken for you, or does knowing about those other priorities explain it?  I don't have the 4 piece, but another user confirmed that it was working correctly with the last update.

Also, note that my addon does not control when spells get a red border - those replace Blizzard's default proc highlighting.  You can see more info on the Flash Colors page.

All my other spellflashes work for their classes, but I've been trying to fix it not working on my Paladin for the past hour with no success. Each toon has the same addons loaded but I can't for the life of me figure out why it will not work for my Paladin.

Have you tried the troubleshooting instructions in the FAQ, under "Nothing ever flashes.  What's wrong?"

I've fixed the blinking, and it appears attacking a target dummy has fixed it not working on mobs too.

I'm glad it's working for you again.
