About Bitten's SpellFlash: Priest
This module flashes suggested spells for all three Priest specs. You can find *lots* more information on its website.
If you download using the Curse Client it will come with everything you need. If you download your addons manually, you must also get SpellFlash.
Please see the FAQ before posting a question. If that doesn't address your issue, or you have a suggestion to improve this addon, please either leave a comment or create a ticket.
Bitten's SpellFlash modules replace Blizzard's default proc highlighting to flash the button you should press next to achieve maximum dps on a boss fight. Or if you are a tank, to maximize your survivability. For healers, they are just slightly smarter proc highlighters. Dps modules follow or are similar to priority schemes found in SimulationCraft, Icy Veins, and/or Elitist Jerks. Sometimes you have to be smarter than SpellFlash, e.g. when saving a cooldown for a specific boss mechanic, but in general following the recommendations will improve most people's performance.
The descriptions of each rotation moved to the website for Bitten's SpellFlash.
Version 3.0.4
- All: Now flashes food buffs.
- All: Now flashes Dispel Magic.
Version 3.0.3
Update for patch 5.3.
- Discipline: Power Word: Shield no longer flashes under Borrowed Time, since it will now consume the buff.
Version 3.0.2
- Updating to the latest Library again, hopefully to actually fix the bug this time! (Sorry.)
Version 3.0.1
- Updated to latest Bitten's SpellFlash Library for a bugfix.
Version 3.0.0
- Holy: Added flashing for Holy.
Version 2.9.2
- Shadow: Bugfix for some users from whom Divine Star, Cascade and Halo stopped flashing.
Version 2.9.1
- Shadow: More small tweaks to the rotation.
- Shadow: Improved prediction/detection of whether the cooldown of Shadow Word: Death will trigger.
Version 2.9.0-beta
- Shadow: Flashing should be smoother, with better indications when to interrupt channeling. E.g. Mind Blast will start flashing small and green as soon as you start a Mind Flay channel, if it will be the next spell, then switch to normal flashing once the cooldown is up.
- Shadow: Tweaked rotation for a slight dps gain (according to simulations).
- Shadow: Added flashing for Silence.
- Shadow: Added flashing for Vampiric Embrace.
- Shadow: Bugfix - Devouring Plague ticks every second, not every 3.
Version 2.8.1
- Shadow: Bugfix - Divine Star was actually not flashing yet. Now it flashes red & yellow depending on range.
Version 2.8.0-beta
- Shadow: Mind Flay now has a high priority when under the affects of Solace and Insanity.
- Shadow: Devouring Plague is now always prioritized above the level 90 talents.
- Shadow: Added flashing for Divine Star. It is worth casting now, even for single target fights.
- Shadow: Added a couple semi-helpful flashes while moving (for Shadow Words: Death and Pain).
Version 2.7.2
NOTE: This version includes a new version of Bitten's SpellFlash Library that I tried to test well, but if you find any issues please let me know right away.
Version 2.7.1
NOTE: Your options will be reset when you upgrade to this version.
- Repackaging so that Bitten's SpellFlash Library is included with the addon, instead of downloaded separately.
- Several other internal changes.
- Shadow: Removed old Shadow Word: Insanity code.
Version 2.7.0
- Discipline: Added flashing for Archangel.
Version 2.6.0
- Discipline: Added flashing for Discipline.
Version 2.5.1
- Shadow: Halo and Cascade now flash pretty colors to indicate distance. See the addon description for more info.
- Shadow: Tweaked the condition for the top-priority Devouring Plague.
Version 2.5.0
- Shadow: Researched the Shadow rotation in Simulationcraft and found several improvement.
- Shadow: Added Cascade and Halo (not Divine Star, since it's not worth using on a single target).
- Shadow: Added Desperate Prayer.
Version 2.4.5
- Making the "Out of Date" status go away. Please report any real issues w/ the new patch.
Version 2.4.4
- Shadow Bugfix - found some smaller issues with cooldowns. Flashing should be smoother now.
Version 2.4.3
- Shadow: Bugfix - Shadow Word: Death was flashing even when it was on cooldown! Booo.
Version 2.4.2
- Shadow: Bugfix - If you could manage to get your mana low, Shadow Word: Death would start flashing as if you could cast it and it would give you mana back. You can't. And it won't.
Version 2.4.1
- Why was there no version 2.4.1?
Version 2.4.0
- Added a Shadow rotation for the MoP beta.
Version 2.3.1
- Discipline: Bugfix - the mouseover option was not working for Power Word: Shield.
Version 2.3.0
- Discipline/Holy: Now flashes Desperate Prayer.
- Shadow: Devouring Plague now flashes yellow and continues to the next priority, in case you are multi-dotting.
- Shadow: No longer flashes Mind Flay to stack up Dark Evangelism if you don't have the talent.
Version 2.2.2
- Taking out of beta.
Version 2.2.1 beta
This beta release uses Bitten's SpellFlash Library version 3. If you update you will also need to update any of your other Bitten's SpellFlash modules, which may also be in beta.
- Discipline/Holy: Now anticipates Seredipity stacks/consumption as you are casting Flash Heal, Binding Heal, Greater Heal or Prayer of Healing.
Version 2.2.0
- Discipline: Now flashes Binding Heal.
- Discipline: No longer flashes Pennance.
- Holy: Now flashes Binding Heal.
- Holy: No longer flashes Holy Word: Serenity.
- Shadow: Bugfix - Mind Flay for Dark Evangelism was never flashing.

I really need a flash for when my Power Word:Shield is ready to use, am I doing something wrong since its not flashing?
:)
The answer is going to depend on your spec. Check the FAQ for "Why isn't spell X flashing?"
Author of Bitten's SpellFlash.
The shadow rotation is designed to maximize dps. It does include flashing for some survival/seal-healing abilities like Desperate Prayer or Healthstones, but generally only when they do not interfere with dps (such as those two abilities, which are not on the gcd). I can keep your suggestion in mind if I think of a good way to incorparte it, but don't count on it, and even if I did include it it would only flash when you are solo.

So I use shadow spec and the power word:shield is not listed.
Therefore Bitten have to write some stuff down and add that function in her next update.
Why? Because when I cast power word: shield my soul is weakened and I cant cast another one for 14 sec, - now when these 14 sec are up I want it to flash really really brightly!
The new version 3.0 is only flashing mind flay after the initial rotation. I've gone back to 2.9. Can you please look into it? I'
It seems to be working fine for me. What do you mean by "after the initial rotation"?
Author of Bitten's SpellFlash.
Ok ... I think it should be fixed now. *fingers crossed*

same error, but I'll continue to be a major supporter. I'll just go back to 2.9
Oh! I think I know how to fix that. Try the latest release.
Author of Bitten's SpellFlash.
I get an error when buffing that may help.
<Lua error snipped by Bitten to reduce clutter.>
After, MB, SWP, VT, then MF, it will continue to point to mind flay, even when MB is off cooldown. I'll trigger MB, and even when SWP and VT have expired, it is still only flashing mind flay.
I'm sitting here at a combat dummy and It will be triggering mind flay for at least 30 seconds.
SWP and VT have been expired and off cooldown for quite some time.
Otherwise I LOVE this mod. Use it for all my alts.
Sorry for the delay w/ the Divine Star / Shadow Form / Inner Fire / etc reports. I just got back from vacation. I'm starting to look into it now.
<Edit:> I think the latest release should fix the problem for you.

working well now, ty
shadow form, inner fire, and pw fort are also not flashing in shadow
Those seem to be working fine for me and another friend I had test it. Maybe you turned on "In Combat Only" in the options for SpellFlash?
